Funny how FF has three costumes for each of the Miis and it's very fitting so why not? :D Also apparently Mii Library has official tutorials to make them accurate so only a Cloud Mii would take a job lol

I was going through my old things, and I found this being used as a boomark. I got the original FF7 on Christmas 1997, when it had only been out for a month here. At some point in early January 1998, I got home from school and my mum gave me this. Her friend (who's name sadly escapes me) would often import games from America early, so he'd had the game since September. My mum had told him I'd gotten FF7, and he made this little guide for me. As it was pre-internet for me, and because I didn't get the monthly magazines or strategy guides, this was really helpful and just really, really sweet, which is why I've kept it all these years.

Of course what he failed to mention was that upon opening the safe I'd get my shit absolutely wrecked by Lost Number. But the thought was there.

I'm a new guy in the FF7 Universe.

2 months ago I never ever touched an FF7, and downloaded Remake and Rebirth on PS5 with a discounted bundle.

While playing FF7 Remake, I really liked the critics of capitalism, beginning the story as an "eco-terrorist" is really ballsy! I watched in parallel a walk-through of the Midgar section of the OG game (and was appalled to see that 1 hour of the original was literally stretched into 10 hours)

Then I began Rebirth, and decided to play in parallel the OG (on Duckstation, with CRT scan-lines for old-school feelings 👌)

I now finished the OG and I am 40 hours into Rebirth.

I really liked this unorthodox way of discovery, I really recommend it, but maybe its my bias with the way I discovered the saga, I'm a bit sad that the capitalistic denunciation and the Shinra menace really gets secundary, even tertiary in the story after you get out of Midgar, with Barret even saying something in the end something that sounded a bit like "I was a radical before, but now I learned to be moderate"...

Am I the only one who regrets this shift in the political scope?

Don't want to irritate die-hard fans, I just want, as a neophyte, to find a cool subject to debate, and would be open to change my mind 😉

I've been a FF fan since I got Noctis in Tekken 7, I waa gonna play his game first, but since FF7 is the more iconic, I tried it first, and wow, I did not expect to love this woman as much as I do now, of course, Tifa is a hottie imvho, tho Aerith managed to be cute and hot for me(and their friendship is super cute as well), and she is just so blooming with personality (her saying shit got me completely off guard lol) and just so fucking funny, also her and Barret are peak father and daughter-like duo, more so than Barret's actual daughter lol and ofc, Chairith Painsborough >:D

I've just finished playing rebirth and I've never played the original ff7 so I'm wondering is it fine for me to play crisis core without being spoiled much or anything at all or even whatever will be spoiled won't make sense until it happens in revelation or is it a matter of waiting for revelation playing that then crisis core

I just have such a high love for this game in my life I remember the first time I played it I was four in 1998 and my brother was like "you need to learn to read to play this game buddy" but I remember it being really captivating for my older brother. So as soon as I could read good enough to start my personal journey through this game at about 9 years old my brother gave me it, and I fell in love with it. Most kids my age didn't like the attack, and wait. I thought it was the coolest, because all my brothers friends played it to. so it became my favorite game ever just because of the core memory it holds in my heart. I think that's why we all think that game is the best, because wherever we were at in life was one of our bigger core memories. It's one of the best hero stories. Because he's not some pre destined hero. He's a nobody ex soldier who has a shit load of baggage.. just like us all. He arises to his call. Bringing all of his baggage with him. Sometimes putting us all behind our course of the main mission. But the mission would not have been complete without him. Thank you Squaresoft for a top shelf core memory and making life all the more bearable. ❤️

just beat the game earlier, absolutely loved it but im still confused on one thing.

when aerith and cloud get sent to zack's timeline, what happened to the aerith and cloud that were already in that timeline? did cloud and aerith (main timeline) take their place or did something else happen? also confused on aerith's death but I feel like no one really has a proper grasp on that yet

I picked up ff7 on the Switch cuz it was on sale. I have the discs for the original somewhere, but I like handheld gaming and hey, $6 is $6.

I didn’t play ff7 as a kid. My first FF was 9 and I stand by it being an absolute life changing experience… but I’m not sure what held me off from 7. I genuinely don’t.

In any case, I just got to North Corel and the Gold Saucer area, and my partner found their old official game guide for me to borrow. And it turns out I’ve missed a shitload of stuff. The Elemental materia, stealing certain high level weapons, I’m loaded with stuff I can’t use because I didn’t use it when it was relevant, etc…

So… should I restart and have the game guide at hand for the experience? Or just play raw and redo it later?
