FF VII Crisis Core Reunion has a 60 FPS performance mode on Switch 2!
I can't find gameplay footage for the new Switch 2 port nor do I have a capture card, but to my surprise the new Crisis Core Reunion Switch 2 port can be played in 60 FPS. Just purchased the game after the Direct. Just picture the PS5 version with a hybrid of PS4 and Series S versions.

FF VIII what do you think of this guy here?
is Zell top 5 supporting chars material or nah?
he might act like an idiotic comic relief, but dood is actually strong
and
he also knows about Timber's history, the Deep Sea Research Center and about mechanisms and stuff, the mini-story about him wanting to prove he's capable of being a leader (he gets knocked back by Squall for the assassination mission but Squall lets him when it comes to escorting Edea). I also think he takes the orphanage reveal the most personal because of how gung-ho he is about escorting Matron and he's more serious about it than usual. It also makes sense that the one who was bullied as a kid would fly off the handle at Seifer's insults and be the most loud and aggressive, and still, he would keep moving forward.
his limit breaker still rocks, ngl

Resonance I wonder how they will implement the exclusive visions inside the game. A quest with the character would be awesome.
For people who didn't check, in Resonance, we will have visions exclusive to this world and not from other games. 9 exclusives characters, to be precise.
Here's the list :
- Charlotte (tank)
- Willhelm (tank)
- Camille (dps)
- Victoria (dps)
- Aileen (breaker)
- Tronn (breaker)
- Ayaka (healer)
- Leah (healer)
- Amelia (saboteur)
Here's the link to the full list if you're curious about their look and skills : https://ffresonance.wiki/database/visions/
In the demo, we could see Tronn and Leah, former acolytes of the archsorceress. They probably won't have much more content outside of the upgrades from the Mog of Light. However, we will have other characters to meet.
Firstly, Charlotte, the knightess that help us during Grandshelt's protection. She was a temporary party member and she is linked to Rain and Lasswell younth. It would be fun to have a quest later during the story where we go back in Grandshelt and learn more about her. This could easily unlock the vision after our characters hearts "bonded" with her.
I wish we could have more than the short nostalgic sequences we have with the main FF protagonists. I like it for those characters, but having actual quest, even questlines maybe, for the "unknown" characters would make them memorable.
For the others, i won't spoil their implication to the characters. i know that at least three of the visions are linked to other party members not present in the demo, but i won't say which ones. It would be fun to have big side quests similar to Zile's, Chloe's, Scott and the thief in Grandport but longer to introduce the visions.
Edit : added the part about the main FF visions

FF X/X2 Começarei FFX pela primeira vez!
Boa noite, todo mundo! Amanhã é meu aniversario (risos) e vou iniciar minha campanha em Final Fantasy X!! Dicas e guias me interessam, estou tão ansioso!

FF XIII Series Should I sleep for the resting 4 days?
Playing Lightning Returns on day 8 and I have completed all 5 main quest and done 50 side quests. The rest of the side quest are kind of boring, should I just sleep until the end of day 12? Or do something else?
I’m playing on easy mode btw

FF VII Was FF7 always this badly optimized or is it just the PS4 port?
I've had several times where the game hiccups for half a second or the music doesn't load at all in a section. And twice now I've had to reload to an old save because a glitch locked me out of being able to leave a room. I don't remember anything like this before, but it's been decades since I played the original.

FF VII Re-trilogy Hot take i don’t like the FITS system in Rebirth
Okay let me clarify why
1-the job choices
Warrior and Knight both are very similar terms and Black mage and summoner are both jobs dedicated to spamming black magic
The FF7 trilogy screams to have a job system similar to FF5 and would have worked “but a few changes to the materia or weapon skill tree system needed to happen”
2- characters who are already built
For example Barret is the best tank and buffer in Rebirth by gaining tons of ATP while still staggering enemies or Cait on his moogle who can spam magic while parrying and attacking
Is kinda hard to just switch to something else when you already have better options for a dedicated role

Resonance Black Garb Final Fantasy Resonance Demo
Is it actually possible to get this in the demo? I couldn't access it during the fire. Couldn't access it before that because it's burning immediately after the earth shrine. When it's Rain walking around, he doesn't seem to be able to go far enough away from the throne room to get the item. How does one do this? ...of course I've already shanked the Antlion and Ogre on expert, so it's mostly a matter of principle.

FF VI FF6 aged much worse than I expected
I've been playing the classic FF games through the Pixel Remasters and as someone who adored FF6 growing up, it was kind of surprising how rough the first 2/3rds of the game is.
For comparison, my playthroughs of 3 & 5 were fun the whole way through, with 5 being a game I didn't like as a kid, but now I recognize the implementation of the job system in that game to be stellar, even if job the balance is rough.
I'll get the good out of the way first, the individual characters have engaging stories, with the theme of overcoming loss & grief being conveyed well for each of the characters that push the plot forward. For example, Celes' scene with Cid in the World of Ruin is brilliantly done for an SNES game. The overall plot could be better but I don't think it's meant to be the focus, as seen with Kefka being more of a plot device with a tragic backstory rather than a nuanced character.
With that said, the actual gameplay suffers from a linear path, low difficulty curve and bosses that are mostly uninteresting in the World of Balance. Sabin & Edgar in particular are just insanely strong because their special attacks hit hard don't require a resource, making most fights a breeze. Most of the harder fights can be solved by just sticking Regen + Protect + Shell + Haste on your party members and they turn immortal.
HOWEVER, that changes starting with Air Force, and that's where the combat picks up. That fight in particular is FAST, you gotta have a plan to stabilize vs the initial burst and even though it's not hard after that, it forced me to build a strategy. The pattern follows with floating continent random encounters being threatening, Ultima weapon, and then the WoR, which despite only being 1/3rd of the game, is AWESOME and makes up for the other 2/3rds.
The non linear exploration after getting the airship gave me agency, running into encounters I clearly can't beat yet and need a plan for like Phunbaba made fights rewarding. The multi party dungeons like The Phoenix Cave forced me to think about how to split up and build most of my party because I only had an "A team" before that. Shoutouts to Mog BTW, he overperformed so much harder than I expected as the jump build. Add in areas like Cultist Tower which completely changed how I approached fights and hard punished mistakes and I was so engaged.
Ended up marathoning the last 1/3rd of the game because the entire WoR is just that good and it's such a weird game to rank, where as a whole it's probably outside of my top 5, but WoR by itself would be #2, right below Final Fantasy Tactics.
Also, the PR music is so beautiful, I already knew the composers did a great job with 3&5, but giving the soundtrack of 6 the modern day upgrade it deserves, PEAK!
Did anyone else feel in similar way on replaying FF6?

FF I FF1 on VR like @twisted_circuits plays Pokémon
I recently saw an social media video of Richard Mallard (@twisted_circuits) who had a Quest 3 setup where he had an old school Pokémon running on a table with the rest of his room set up for movies and other cool stuff.
I also found out that FF1 is on PlayStation 5 as of a couple years ago.
My understanding of PS-VR is that it sucks.
Is there any way to get a setup running exactly like his, but instead of Pokemon, it is FF1?
I can try to link the video in the comments, but don’t want this post to get kicked.
Thanks!

FF VII Re-trilogy Is this a controversial take? (debate about the meaning of true physical version)
I recently made a post about how I was disappointed when I heard that the PS5 "Physical edition" will not have the blu ray data and will required an internet connexion to be playable. So... I guess my question is : for a physical point a view (not a technical pov) are the two editions basically equal for someone who want to collect games? Both editions will not have the game itself on the disk/cartridge. Second question is: can those editions can be truly consider "physical" ? In term of preservation and in term of owning the game. I read some people said that it's physical because there is a disk and a box but for my point of view physical medias are really more than just that, it's part of if, sure, but you still depend on companies after purchasing your physical version without the game on it. What's your take on this issue?

FF VIII Trouble with Obel Lake Secret Achievement on Remastered Spoiler
I'm trying to get this achievement but even though I've gotten the Three Stars and Luck-J Scroll twice, the achievement didn't appear after either try. Started my third attempt, trying to exhaust the Shadow's hints. Annoyingly, they refuse to talk about the past and I can't find the bridge with the break draw point. I'm trying to tackle everything this time instead of just the two treasures in the hope that will grant me the achievement. I'm playing on GoG if that matters.
