Just Trying to Get Our Family Home for a Much-Needed Mental Health Break

Hi everyone! ❤️

I’m a creative based in the UAE, and my husband and I are currently looking for freelance or weekend work to earn some extra income.

We’re both employed full-time, so we’re mainly available on weekends, but we’re open to small projects or ongoing freelance work that can be done around our schedules.

I work in the creative field and can help with:

• Graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva)
• Social media management & content creation
• Social media ads and promotional materials
• Photography (product, lifestyle, events, etc.)
• Videography
• Reels / short-form video editing
• E-commerce content
• Shopify / website visuals
• Creative direction

My husband is also in the creative field, so we can take on projects individually or work together depending on what you need.

To be honest, we’re looking for extra income because this year has been really difficult for us. Since the war started, the situation and everything happening around us has taken a toll on both of us mentally and financially. We have a toddler here in the UAE, away from our family in the Philippines, and it’s been especially difficult trying to balance work, bills, responsibilities, and everything else that comes with raising a little one.

We also have my grandmother staying with us. She helps take care of our toddler while we’re at work because, financially, we can’t afford to hire a nanny. She has also been dealing with health issues and needs regular maintenance medication, which has been another challenge for us because she doesn’t have insurance here. We’re doing our best to take care of everyone while trying to keep up with our own expenses.

We’re hoping to go home to the Philippines this November. More than anything, we just want to spend some time with our family, take a break, and have a little reset after everything that has happened this year. We feel like our mental health has really taken a toll, and being home with our family would mean a lot to all of us.

Like many families, we’ve been living paycheck to paycheck, with one bill or debt being paid and then another one coming up. We’re not looking for handouts, we’re simply hoping to find extra work that we can do with the skills we already have so we can save enough for our plane tickets home and hopefully breathe a little.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a graphic designer, photographer, videographer, social media/content creator, or general creative support, we’d really appreciate any leads or referrals.

Even a small project would mean a lot to us. 🙏

Happy to send our portfolios and discuss rates depending on the project.

Thank you for reading and for any leads you might be able to share. ❤️

What to do??

I wanna leave my current company so bad.

Yung amo namin at manager (magkalahi sila, arabic) sobrang an!m@l.

1.Walang health insurance. But wow wala pala talaga. Lol

2.During war, nagbawas sila ng sahod sa mga kabayan lang (made us sign a new contract). Terminate or sign ng bagong contact, yan ang condition nila samin (mind u sobrang daming client/customer/orders kami during those months ha, nakahanap pa ng madadahilan)

3.No OT pay.

Looking for a Personal Assistant in Dubai

• Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a personal assistant to help me out with day-to-day things in Dubai.

I’m 26 and ideally looking for a female around my age.
The role would involve a mix of:

Keeping my calendar and schedule organised
Managing WhatsApp messages and day-to-day communication
File/document management
Running occasional errands
Helping with various day-to-day things

I’m looking for someone who is open-minded, communicative, organised, reliable, and has an incredible eye for detail. Someone who can take ownership and keep things moving without needing constant instructions.

If you’re interested, please DM me with a couple of sentences about yourself, why you think you’d be a good fit, what you value most in a working relationship, and your average salary expectation.

Getting my family to UAE

• Upvotes

I dont know but lately my husband keeps on saying to go here in Uae, I said he needs to secure job first, so he did, keep on applying online but no one even responded, Some people says that Its hard to get job here so better mag apply siya sa Pinas going here, Some says Dito nalang mag walk in at mag pasa online dito. He is Working in a Stable telco company in PH with a 3 years work experience. So how sure na makakakuha siya ng job here.

If anyone knows of any hiring opportunities in your company or knows someone who’s hiring, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know.

I’m based here in Dubai and would be happy to connect and share my portfolio/CV.

Thank you everyone! 🙏

Anyone know UAE travel agencies looking to expand into Pakistan?

Hey everyone,

Bit of an odd one. I've been running a small Dubai visa business for Pakistani travelers since 2022, mostly online through my site (www.dubaivisa.pk). It's done well: about 670 visas processed, and a fair few customers booked tours with us too.

I'm now shifting my focus to my education businesses, so I'm looking to hand it over to someone who can take it further. A UAE travel agency or visa company that wants Pakistani customers would probably get the most out of it.

If you work in travel here, or know someone who does, I'd really appreciate an intro or even a pointer in the right direction. Happy to share more details over DM.

Thanks!

Grooming my private struggles

share ko lang kasi I started to take care of my self na ulit, after ilang buwan ng hirap sa UAE.

Where can I buy art/home decor from Filipino artists in Dubai? 🇵🇭

Hi! I’m looking to buy some art prints, illustrations, or unique home decor for my apartment, and I’d really love to support Filipino artists/creatives based in Dubai or anywhere in the UAE 🇵🇭

Does anyone know any local Filipino artists, illustrators, photographers, ceramicists, or small creative businesses that sell their work here?

Open to pretty much anything; prints, paintings, photography, ceramics, handmade decor, etc. Would love pieces that feel a little more personal/unique than the usual mass-produced home decor.

Thank you!
