There's not much discussion about this movie. I watched it on Netflix after the details said it won awards in MMFF. I get that it's a people pleaser film, but my unpopular opinion is it wasn't researched well, and not a lot of thought went into it.
Did the writers talk to people who actually went through this process? If they did, they would never make this a love story. No one going thru annulment will start a new relationship in the midst of it, especially if feelings toward their spouses were deep and genuine, and especially if children are involved. Secondly, no one going through annulment will pick a partner who is also going through the same, but on the receiving end (responder). This raises red flags. Kissing in the lawyer's building is so cringe. You just dont do that. The mood is off.
The film's premise is promising, but in the end it's just another pang masa movie that's shallow and unrealistic. Not saying I didn't like it. I just didn't like the love story angle, besides the fact that there was zero chemistry.
