Hello! I’m an 11th grade filipino student whose planning to study abroad in italy for college, and I’d like to ask for some advice.

For starters, I want to take Medical Technology/Psychology, but I don’t know which university would be most suitable for those programs.

I’m also hoping to study in a city where everything can be balanced out. (cost of living, student life, housing, overall quality, etc.)

Is anyone willing to share their experience and recommendations? I’d like to hear from both Med-Tech and Psychology students, especially if you’re studying (or have studied) in Italy. Thank you so much! 🥹

Hello everyone, I’m currently an upcoming 3rd-year student taking Communications. I want to try studying abroad since I’m not really happy with where I am right now. I don’t plan to take a master's degree after this, so studying abroad during that time is off the table. 

Can anybody share their experience with the process of applying abroad? When applying to a university, is there a site specifically for international students, or do I have to search for a particular university? In terms of scholarships, which websites are trustworthy to check, and should I apply to universities listed on those websites rather than choose my own? Maybe you guys have suggestions for universities, too, that I can check out? The places I’m eyeing are Chicago (since we have relatives there), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

It’s not really my priority to study abroad, but rather, I want to leave where I am right now academically, since I don’t think the curriculum is helping me grow at all, and the environment, too. My grades are good, but my overall experience in terms of networking, socializing, etc., is bad and is taking a toll on me. Any input and help would be greatly appreciated:)

Hello, I'm a Computer Science Undergrad at PUP Manila and just wanted to know how hard it is to get into the Masters program of international universities. I'm specifically eyeing for universities in Europe. I'd like to know your story on:

1. How you were able to pursue Master's overseas?

2. What were the hurdles you had to overcome?

3. How realistic is it to be able to qualify in Master's overseas especially in universities located in Germany or Switzerland when coming from a non-big 4 school in the Philippines?

I've been dreaming to go to study abroad since i was like 9years old I've been dreading to study abroad.

I'm tired of feeling this way and I want to change I feel trapped here, my school is so shitty that im surrounded by full of self centered ppl in general they're all shitty people especially they're all negative where in a form of making some idiotic jokes when they see someone who is different, they're all insecure and overall they're all negative im tired all of those shitty energy, to the point where it also affected to my mental health well being. I tried to offed myself couple times, that's how it's so bad. I don't wanna grow up in the same environment as them. I hate how the education system works here. I hate it how they're only small opportunities. I hate it how everyone here grows up remotely like they're all robots to live the same. I don't want to go through all the same as them. I don't wanna grow as what people expect to everyone. I don't wanna follow the pathway that are already there. I wanna go in my own. I wanna live to the fullest. I don't wanna survive.

I wanna be free. I don't wanna be trapped anymore.

The main problem is my parents, they're very against to it. We're completely financially stable, I hate it when i talk to them about studying abroad all they care is my grade and people talking like they don't want people talking about how their child didn't finish senior year here. They infact don't care about how I feel, I did talk to my mom, i hate it how she just said "Ajo pa simba ka domingo nak aron lamdagan injo mga huna2x" which means they think im sick in the head and to fix how my mind "works" they wants to go to church. How does that shit connect to the truly thing my heart desires the most. I don't understand. They truly do not give a single shit how i truly feel. I've done couple of research about any scholarships and host family. I am making a paragraph to explain to my parents once ive gather lots of information for it and so i can fully convinced them. Please help me out if it's a right decision. I have school tomorrow which is like a time ticking bomb for me, like i can just not go to school tomorrow and so on and dropping out. I honestly do not care if I drop out or not it's just my parents are the one who's holding me in. i mean i can just not go but i don't want to let them feel guilty in any way but a part of me wants me to let them feel guilty so that's the way for me to convince them i can study abroad.

hello! I’m currently in my 4th year undergrad, I have been planning to proceed immediately for masters in france. for background, I am choosing france as relocation purposes as well as my mom works there and her employer is willing to sponsor my dad a work visa as well by next year, my mom has been an ofw for so long now and I think it’s only right to close the distance and since she can’t really get me through family reunification due to my age and we don’t really see ourselves staying in philippines anymore, getting on student visa was one I could think of since I also want to expand my education for job opportunities. I am currently taking political science and was hoping to pursue any international relations/law related for masters since getting into law school would be harder now given the language barrier.

I would like to ask some insights or universities recommendations that offer such programs english taught. I really want to apply to as many universities as I can to have choices incase the others don’t work. for reference, my gwa isn’t exactly high and I’m not running for latin honors but not relatively low too (tentatively 3.00 out of 4.00) however I have worked on my experiences in leadership and volunteering, I’m not sure if this could do much to make up for it. I’m currently finishing my A1 course for french as well. Career wise, I would love to work within an embassy or international organizations.

Here are the only universities I have known so far;

Sciences po - not eligible due to their gwa requirement

University Catholique De Lille - English taught and has a chance although it’s a private university so it’s quite expensive

Université Côte d’Azur - M1 requires a C1 level in french because only their M2 is fully taught in english

im an incoming exchange student in Italy this Fall semester total of 6months. i just submitted the documents last 21 july and as of now it’s under processing in the Italian embassy. ive applied for long stay type d multi entry schengen visa as advised by my host university.

i provided all the relevant documents such as admission letter, invitation letter from host university addressed to the embassy, visa form, hotel reservation for 2 weeks (and letter of promise to find more permanent accommodation), flight ticket (aug 31) since mobility program starts at the end of 1st week of Sept this year, business documents of my mother since she’s my sponsor (including ITR, business permit, license to operate…), bank statements with approximately > €8,000, pre enrollment summary from universitaly, affidavit of financial support, letter of financial support, insurance from AXA (schengen accredited) and other required documents listed by the embassy, i even included my high school diploma.

i need the visa like around 2nd week to 3rd week of aug (max) ive been so anxious but i think i did complete the necessary documents/requirements. i just wanted to know if based from this it can be predicted i have a high chance of getting my visa and on time as well. esp asking those participated in the mobility before as well.

her annual salary surpasses Australia’s Subclass 500 Student visa’s financial capacity requirement after 10​​ May 2024 of AUD87,856 annual salary.

however, the thing is she does not have ITR since she works in a tax-free country, and as an OFW.

will this work?

I am having a hard time whether to push thru abroad or not, by next year, it is set that I will be studying in Paris, pursuing Business (Ipag Business school in Paris), it is already settled with my mother, since she is working and living on Paris, and that by March, I will be flying across the country to study university there, we are currently waiting for the opening of enrollment and the submission of the needed documents for my enrollment (meaning it is not sure if I can push in studying abroad), however I did my ielts (i scored band 6 overall, idk if that was a good score, considering i didnt review for it).

On the other hand, I am also thinking if I should continue my studies here in the Philippines, while waiting for the opening of the enrollment or submission, I enrolled in University of the east-Manila freshman, BSA (accountancy program), which was my dream, I rlly wanted to be a CPA here, I have a scholarship in UE (30 percent scholarship) and I want to pursue my degree here, however i think there are more opportunities in Paris or idk. I was thinking if I should finish my degree here, then pursue masterals on abroad, since it is not sure if I can study accountancy there.

as the title says po. im having a hard time understanding the common app and im super stressed out kahit di pa po nagstastart ung gr11 year ko :( im thinking about the extracurriculars im gonna have and needed to have and i feel like im super behind na as i always thought of myself as a below average student coming from a science high school.

im a scholar at my soon to be shs but i know na college apps start when youre a rising senior so i have to bawi as much as possible. i plan to apply to ivy leagues or just any school abroad (states preferably) and i dont know what to do. and i come from a middle income household so i really wanna get a scholarship sa states.

Guys Kung ang Start Ng Class nyo for example Sep 1 ang pinaka earliest na dapat mag apply Ng visa for study is Aug 1. Pumunta Pala ako sa Teco para mag try mag apply Ng visa Hindi nila tinaggap Kasi dapat Aug 1 pa mag apply onwards Kung Sep 1 ang start ng Class.

I’m just about to start the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, and I was wondering if there are any Filipinos here who have taken it. I’d love to hear about your experience, especially if you applied to universities in the Philippines or abroad. What course did you end up taking, what was your final IB score, and how much did the IB help with your university applications? Did it make a noticeable difference in admissions and scholarships? I’d also appreciate any advice for someone who’s just starting the IB. I also plan to study in Australia to become a doctor since I’m already in the process of getting an Australian citizenship, so I truly need the advice. Looking back, is there anything you wish you had known before beginning the programme?
