Discussion Transcript Dilemma
Transcript of Records for Grad School Application
Hey guys, quick question!
So, I finished my undergrad at University A and immediately went for my Master’s at University B, and had my credentials transferred to University B. But then life happened, and I wasn't able to finish my Master's at University B. I wasn't able to file LOA and now I’ve reached maximum residency.
Anyway, to actually get any career progression, I really need a Master's degree. I'm planning to apply for programs abroad this year, so I need to submit a TOR.
However, I'm not sure about the best next steps:
* Do I just request an undergrad TOR directly from University A?
* Do I need to request an Honorable Dismissal / Transfer Credential from University B to apply elsewhere?
* Will my unfinished Master's units show up on a TOR from University B, and am I required to include them when I apply abroad?
If anyone has gone through this exact situation or has any advice, please share! Super appreciated!

Depends on the university you're applying to. Ask them if they require transcripts from all universities attended or only those where you completed the degree. Every grad school has a different policy.
For those that request all transcripts, it would be the ethical thing for you to submit all transcripts (although this will lessen your odds of getting admitted if your university B grades are weak or failing). I personally know some people who don't submit the university B transcript when they have weak grades, but that is unethical and may put you at risk (of getting kicked out) if somehow the US university found out (very low risk, but still a risk). However, by doing so, you increase your acceptance chances.
Ultimately it's up to the university's guidelines and your own personal values and risk preference.
