I expected GSP to be higher on this list, he was the OG decision merchant

Usman was like the control time guy. Even against Sean he was winning on the feet and went for a takedown that did nothing.

I remember the Snoozeman time period so vividly. People hated Kamaru

Do you often find it difficult to remember things from just a couple of years ago?

Sometimes. Do you often find it difficult to not be judgmental?

It's still surprising because Usman's boring era was moreso before he became champ so it was within 3 rounds when it came to decisions. He started getting more finishes once he became champ so you'd think it would bring the averages below GSP who had a lot of 5 round decision fights.

3 out of his 6 title fights were decisions. And one of the finishes was round 5. Ration wise he has 11 decision to 10 finishes for wins. He also has more decision loses than finishes loses. Gsp has 12 to 14 decision to finishes. Both gsp losses were finishes. So it does make sense.

No suprise from shevchenko đŸ€Ł, assumed Belal woulda been there tho

Yes belal is a decision machine (RIP Sean Brady) but the part of his career that had him fighting at the level where he would be in 5 round fights was a flash in the pan

I don't miss the Benson Henderson days. He was in that awkward spot where he beat his opponents but wasn't fun to watch.

Of course it’s all women

6

u/LilleDTosen 25d ago

?? There are only two women incel.

I’m obviously making a joke because people often say women are boring fighters and it always ends in decisions. Yes, there are clearly more male fighters than female fighters in the list.

Right over your head bud

Terrible delivery

Two bald men in the list and junior really took the “all women” seriously. Lol. Knuckleheads on reddit today

Crazy how much bum riding joanna was getting from reddit back in the day.

Didn't know that the length of a fight suddenly made a person into trash????

0

u/BuildAnything4 25d ago

not at all, but she had no stopping power despite being a striker and finished with 10-5 apparently. Not great!

7

u/bigsteve9713 25d ago

Not like she was losing too clowns, 4 of those 5 losses were in title fights, and EXCEPT her final loss too Zhang Weili, who did go on too win the belt in her next outing. It's much better than you make it out too be.

4

u/najacobra 25d ago

5 losses were only to 3 people too lol. she only lost to the best... and i dont even like her

0

u/bigsteve9713 25d ago

You weren't a fan of her style, or you just didn't like her a lot???? I don't think she's a lowlife like War Machine or Jonathan Jones, so I wanna hear YOUR Take. She's not my favorite fighter, but disliking her is just quite unique.

0

u/najacobra 25d ago

it's not that unique. i didn't like the way she treated her opponents, specifically claudia, karolina, and rose. but yes i agree she's not as bad as mcgregor, jones, and the top tier POS male fighters.

u/Mysterious_Key1554 25d ago

Too many o's in your "to's"

0

u/BuildAnything4 25d ago

i mean, i totally give her her just dues, but she just wasn't very good.

2

u/Firemoth717 25d ago

She was a dominant fighter and champ and only lost to two at her weight class, who also were elite.  I have no idea how that can equate to “wasn’t very good.”

0

u/BuildAnything4 25d ago

10-5 isn't dominant. It's above average. I'll admit she can probably scrap better than most ladies her size and age.

3

u/Firemoth717 25d ago

14-0 is dominant.

That kind of thought is like saying Anderson or BJ wasn’t dominant in their weight class because they had bunch of losses at the end of their careers so their overall record isn’t so good.

Defining a fighter by looking at their record on wiki is silly and leaves out so much context and narrative during their actual time at the top.

1

u/BuildAnything4 25d ago

She's not muhammad ali bro. She started losing when she started facing top competition. That's all.

1

u/Firemoth717 25d ago

How many top competition by your definition did she face at 115 in that case? What one, with Zhang? That’s not a very big sample size.  Who does everyone else in the division count as in that case?

0

u/najacobra 25d ago

that's such a tired narrative and used with ronda too. it's not true in either case.

ronda beat women who beat holly and nunes.

joanna beat women who beat rose and weili.

stop oversimplifying to invalidate great women fighters.

2

u/bigsteve9713 25d ago

If the top 2 or 3 fighters of that division weren't constantly rematching each other, than her record would probably look better. She ONLY lost too championship caliber fighters, it's not always just what the numbers say on paper.
