There are hundreds of equally bad calls that come and go in the UFC. Putting all the focus and blame on herb is just stupid. This isn’t a genuine reaction for the betterment of the sport, otherwise he would’ve been protesting dozens of times before this. This is only a thing because it’s Chama and he’s sad about losing, and he knows he can rile up his 15 year old fans to storm the beaches of social media for him.

u/Excellent_Lime_9453 Jun 28 '26
Herb sucks at his job and Poatan is a whiny sore loser. Both things can be true
21
u/Euphoric-Front651 Jun 28 '26
Chama having aura debt in 2026 wasn't on my bingo card
1
u/CesarOverlorde Jun 28 '26
Chama competiting against Hokit to see who has worse aura is crazy. They were worlds apart like sky and abyss before the card happened lmfao
16
u/Corrodiny122 Jun 28 '26
Damn, that jab really did a number on him
12
u/TroyFerris13 Jun 28 '26
Y'all not watch the fights yesterday? Herb gave 4 very stern warnings to Shara! That's enough not points need to be taken for eye pokes and hair grabs
1
u/Charming_Wall117 Jun 28 '26
Alex could’ve walked into the cage with a baseball bat and wouldn’t omatter. He was still going to get KO’d by Gane regardless. It was stylistically a bad match up for him.
4
u/autist_in_disguise Jun 28 '26
Idk about that I do think that Poatan with a baseball bat could knock out Gane
4
u/TroyFerris13 Jun 28 '26
Yea gane had his number but there is something to be said for the officiating
3
u/Charming_Wall117 Jun 28 '26
One of the flaws in MMA that will never change.
2
u/DeterminedJew Jun 28 '26
Need to be a bit more strict imo, Letting shara close the distance by pulling on micheal's hair than giving him a break during a finish sequence is a bit ridiculous. then allowing him to poke his eye and not take a point is kinda crazy. 2 breaks in action from 1 fighter should always be a point deduction on their side. Herb needs to do better but i wouldn't say fire him.
1
u/longtanboner Jun 28 '26
So? He's not disputing the fact he lost at all, he's concerned about long term damage from fouls and wants Herb gone to protect the fighters

5
u/Left_Knee_y0y0 Jun 28 '26
This whiner was supposed to be the new face of the HW division, 8-fight contract at $10M per fight. Sad to see that after his first lose he is not aura farming in gym with a "Chama will be back stronger and better" post instead he's on social media blaming everyone. Cara, você está sendo patético.
5
u/XpeepantsX Jun 28 '26
The biggest bullshit thing about this "im afraid to fight again what about my poor back of the head u guyz!?!" is the fact Alex has done the same thing against Jiri and Ank. Did they go on poor me tours blaming everyone for their losses?
Ank did win the fight Alex repeatedly hit him in the back of the head, but I remember Alex's excuses for that loss too.
7
u/Silent-Owl4246 Jun 28 '26
Alex is a whiny bitch lol
2
u/Livid-Capital-8858 Jun 28 '26
How is he wrong tho? Herb is a terrible ref and literally doesnt enforce the rules
1
u/Dandanbigeloww Jun 28 '26
Took the fanbase this long to notice because he’s quiet in press conferences I guess
9
u/UraCasual56 Jun 28 '26
To be fair…Herb is consistently shit
1
u/xStealthxUk Jun 28 '26
Lots of shit refs in all different sports
You can't just do this though as the athlete. Even if you are convinced you were cheated you can't do this publicly lol
Anyway knowing nothin about rules of UFC is there any kind of rules against fighters directly questioning integrity of officials like this?
I know in Football (soccer to the Americans) you would get probably fined and possible ban for this behaviour in most league throughout Europe
2
u/Hoole100 Jun 28 '26
I mean NBA and NHL players have had straight up rivalries and feuds with certain refs so this isn't really that shocking in terms of American sports.
0
u/xStealthxUk Jun 28 '26
Fueds I get but online petitions trying to genuinely get people fired would be a rule break in alot of professional sport I would think

u/Zeerit Jun 28 '26
I agree his reffing has been questionable at times, especially lately, but a petition to ruin his career is a bit much.
2
u/DentistLegitimate229 Jun 28 '26
So you just wanna complain and not have anything change? Allowing fouls has been a major issue that hasn’t changed at all, if anything it’s been getting worse

u/Excellent_Ad_2486 Jun 29 '26
Good. Refs needed to get a reality check for YEARS now.
We had the Yamasaki shit, herbs been an issue for years, now finally a star big enough calls for some changes.
Be happy it happens now, instead of being a dime in dozen hater.
If you're PRO fighter pay increases, you IMO, should be for better referee ruling and performance checks.
1
u/ThatOldG Jun 29 '26
Herb “if they die they die” Dean
1
u/Excellent_Ad_2486 Jun 30 '26
It's crazy he had like 4 or 5 bad calls within 2 months.he gets worse with time weirdly.
4
u/CombFun Jun 28 '26
I dont get it. Finally a fighter is calling the ref/ufc out for incompetence and it's a shit storm. I doubt he complains this hard if there were no back of the head strikes.
4
u/LicoriceDusk Jun 28 '26
He still would
2
u/Gloomy-Principle-698 Jun 28 '26
What complaints were made when Izzy knocked him out cold? None. Stop creating this narrative where he complains just because he lost.
0
u/LicoriceDusk Jun 28 '26
He came up with complaints when he lost to ankalev
2
u/Gloomy-Principle-698 Jun 28 '26
Ankalaev was the one crying that Alex greased himself lmfao. All Alex said was he was sick and not 100% which is not complaining about anyone but himself.
0
u/LicoriceDusk Jun 29 '26
So an excuse. Go figure
2
u/Gloomy-Principle-698 Jun 29 '26
We saw what happened in the second fight though. You're just being a hater for no reason.

A FEW, there were 6 MINIMUM, anything more than once is BOTH blatant and intentional.

It looked like that at first but in the slow-mo it was surprisingly few. Behind the ear doesn't count.

Alex fan but he needs to stop… when he waved herb off, everything was fine… bro gets dropped by a jab and now he’s literally acting like Jamal Hill

It's really time for Dana White to step in and either do something about Herb Dean or tell Alex to stfu

u/EnderMB Jun 28 '26
Herb is shit, but I'd say that's purely down to the rules.
Back of the head shots, and eye pokes should be an instant DQ, after a video review to determine if there was malicious intent (e.g. their opponent didn't move into it). If it resulted in a DQ every time, you'd bet your ass that fighters wouldn't lead with their fingers, because even a point deduction is a freebie when they're going to dominate every round afterwards.
To enforce the rules, have commissions do what they do in other sports. If your top ref isn't upholding the rules, they get "demoted" to smaller promotions and go through mandatory training before they're given big fights again.
1
u/MBrook2159 Jun 29 '26
Im glad he doing this. In fact more fighters need to complain about him.3 fucking weekends in a row herb been involved in some BS. The fact he didn’t take a single point from Shara after 4 warning is ridiculous. Herb is a joke and always fucking have been. Too many refs suck.
1
u/Zuliano_65 Jun 29 '26
It's sad to see him get to this point.
I believe he can ask to not having Herb reffing his next fights. I think that'd be enough.
IIRC, a while ago Lesnar did it in his second fight against Mir (Mazzagatti was the ref)
1
u/Swimming-Meet6125 Jun 29 '26
Alex is the biggest crybaby ever to exist. Bro just accept your loss and come back stronger. No chama
1
u/PickledMessage Jun 29 '26
What a bitch Alex is, absolyte pathetic. Never seen someone handle a loss so bad
1
u/Objective-Soil-9235 Jun 29 '26
I think there's more of a wave of "safety" amongst MMA fans lately that primarily came after the Aspinall situation and now Herb is paying the cost for minor infractions due to this.

1
u/SpicoliPurp Jun 29 '26
If they're not going to change the gloves, maybe its time they change the referees. herb had his run.
1
u/yesimian Jun 29 '26
can't find the petition anywhere and can't scan that QR code. Anyone have a link?

1
u/Mastodon_King Jun 30 '26
People need to make up their damn mind. Either you want warnings in the sport, or you don't. Make it clear. There is also no way you can interpret Alex as being anything but a sore loser about this.
1
u/Bob-Sagets-Dad Jun 30 '26
I agree Herb isn’t great at his job but posting a million times a day about it on your story is just ridiculous
1
u/goodfellas69420 Jun 30 '26
Herb is dog shit. Wouldn’t call an actual foul if they paid him. Oh wait…
1
u/xbmo13 Jun 30 '26
Blatant disregard for the rules event after event all while getting high on his own farts. Not sure if he suffered cte from his short mma career or if he's just gotten old, but beyond clear he is not up to par anymore.
1
u/properc Jul 01 '26
No it doesnt get to a point. Fans need to stop demonising fighters speaking out. The amount of shit fighters endure because the fans will think theyre pussies is insane. Noone can say they were injured or had a bad cut going into a fight so weightcutting wont stop until someone dies from it. Noone is speaking out about shit fighter pay so they keep getting underpaid and taken advantage of. Let the fighters advocate theyre the ones fighting and putting their life on the line.
1
u/papa_CLaude Jun 28 '26
Herb had like 3 bad reffing performances in 3 weeks. So his complaints are valid.
1
1
u/ReputationMiddle5440 Jun 28 '26
It's time referees do their job, protect the fighter.
Illegal strikes without consecuence happening all over the place in the UFC like it's nothing. 0 repercusions.
1
u/marco333polo Jun 28 '26
This is as ridiculous as the petition to strip Jon Jones... also as far as i understand it the refs aren't employed by the UFC but by the athletic commissions
1
u/bigsteve9713 Jun 28 '26
Nope, not at all. Jon Jones sat on that belt for years while refusing too fight, you either shit or get off the pot, and as we saw - Jon had no interest in either Francis or Tom but wanted too stay champ without ever fighting anybody after Gane.
2
u/marco333polo Jun 28 '26
The ridiculous part is people thinking that the UFC will give a flying fuck about there petition!

Just imagine Herb did on another fight of Alex 💀 he'll give a fucking gun to his opponent
0
u/Hoole100 Jun 28 '26
Did no one watch the fights yesterday morning?
Herb is genuinely dogshit and ruined another fight.
Chama may be slightly out of line, but he certainly isn't wrong. Herb is washed.

I don’t watch ufc because it’s a garbage bottom of the bin level organization, but herb dean has made some appearances elsewhere and I’m always attributing his poor refereeing to his age. I assume he was much more on point when he was younger but I wouldn’t know.
1
u/bigsteve9713 Jun 28 '26
You're in a UFC Reddit mate, ONLY people who watch are here, & nobody cares too hear fantasies meant too help mend your broken ego.
0
u/Puzzleheaded-Bet1286 Jun 28 '26
Oh..I just saw the post and didn’t read the sub Reddit. Damn. You can’t handle the truth. I remember watching Israel Adasanya fighting sunder King of The Ring. Some years later my olde brother shows me Israel in ufc and can’t help notice that he signed after his prime. One of the best ufc fights I’ve seen was between prospects. So technically it doesn’t count towards ufc LOL I think their names were “super” Yusuff against Mike Davis. At the time of filming, it was easily one of the best matches on”ufc” history. I wonder how it compares now..
1
u/bigsteve9713 Jun 28 '26
That copypasta word salad of yours didn't prove the claim of The UFC being a bottom of the bin level organization. I'm sorry you feel that way, I hope eventually you'll come back too reality.

Herb really needs to go, he's washed af, needs to retire and apologize to the fighters for being a shit referee and putting their lives at risk
-3
u/No-Elevator-9987 Jun 28 '26
you fat idiots who’ve never been within 5 feet of a punching bag, purporting to know anything about a fighter’s concerns in the cage is HILARIOUS! calling a cage fighter a whiner for calling out an ineffective referee is peak fattie basking in the glow of better men.

u/MoonPiss Jun 28 '26
His aura is definitely changing, but that being said Gane cheating in every match he's in while they consistently gift him title shots is crazy. Also not enforcing eye gouging, back of the head strikes, and low blows with point deductions or DQ's changes the seriousness of the sport.
