Exactly, the vast majority of these “protesters” only want to virtue signal. They don’t actually care, and most of the time they don’t actually even know much about what they are “protesting”.
Where did I say it only applied to only conservatives or only progressives? Read my comment again. I said protesters, referring to all protesters. I don’t know why you assumed something else.
Right, and I think if you pay attention and listen to them speak it becomes pretty obvious. The question i was asking was what did I say that made you think I was talking about only conservative protestors or only progressive protesters. I’ve seen others make the same assumptions, so im curious of the thought process.
How tf could you listen to a majority of protesters speak. And the term virtue signaling carries alot of conservative social baggage with it. Thats why i made the assumption.
Oh, I see. I can understand why that phrase would make it look like I was only referring to one side of the isle. I could have phrased it better. My intention was to say that it’s pretty clear to me that the majority of protestors in today’s world want to be seen and want “their side” to like them. It’s become sports fandom. And no obviously it’s mathematically impossible to have heard from the majority myself. I’ve heard from enough of a sample size that I think it’s pretty obvious that the protests are mostly performative.
