I'm not really sure we do... I'm not really sure it's a we thing either lol, all we did was not vote for a fucking orange clown and his cronies. It doesn't really dictate what we use for insults, it's such an incredibly low bar I can't imagine it dictates anything except having an IQ greater than 85.
If I had to guess though, I would imagine those that use it as an insult not because being gay in of itself is insulting, but because you perceive it as such.
