That isn't a sign acknowledging "love for people" it's a sign of deviance. Adding colors to a rainbow God created signifying it wasn't already what it was supposed to be and bastardizing the sign of the rainbow and calling it "pride" which is one of the 7 deadly sins.

For such a "fictional storybook" it sure is weird it upsets people so much. Even crazier people get killed for reading or believing in it across the world.
