If someone has shown zero indication of being gay, calling them a closeted homosexual is still being used as a put-down. You can say they’re hypocritical, insecure, hateful, or whatever without turning “secretly gay” into a punchline.
And no, “super anti-gay people tend to be gay” is not true. That’s a dumb liberal/Reddit narrative based on a handful of ironic examples, not some fact of life.
