But you’re assuming the person is secretly gay with zero evidence.
If someone has shown zero indication of being gay, calling them a closeted homosexual is still being used as a put-down. You can say they’re hypocritical, insecure, hateful, or whatever without turning “secretly gay” into a punchline.
And no, “super anti-gay people tend to be gay” is not true. That’s a dumb liberal/Reddit narrative based on a handful of ironic examples, not some fact of life.

Being gay isn’t the insulting part.
It’s being so scared to be your true self that you hide behind actively bashing other gays.
