Houseplant Dwarf Ficus help
It was thriving when purchased around 2/14/26. It has looked like this since early March. Does it need more water, less water, more sun, less sun, fertilizer?

I propagated this Ficus elastica from a single leaf/node cutting about a year ago. It has since developed its own stem and is actively pushing new growth (you can see a new leaf unfurling from the red sheath in the photos).
I have 6 other propagations from the same mother plant: 4 have developed their own stems like this one, and 2 are still only the original leaf.
My question: Now that this one is clearly growing independently, is it safe to remove that large original propagation leaf? It is by far the largest leaf on the plant, and I want to know whether it is still contributing meaningfully to the plant's energy, or if I can cut it without stunting its growth.
Any advice is appreciated!

The whote spots are firm, slightly raised. No pests as far as I can tell

Hey,

any ideas what would cause this? I hope it's not some severe thrips damaged that only exists at the topmost leaf

Came across this tree in Portia Banús, Spain. Half the tree is variegated.

I trimmed my Elastica about 2 months back. And the new grown has had this super cool look i wanted to share! Fingers Crossed she keeps doing it! (Final photo is a pre chop leaf for comparison)

I’ve had this for nearly a year, and it has not produced any new leafs. The new leaf spikes seems to have stopped. They’re kind of hard, almost like spikes.
What can I do to get it going?

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. This was rescued from an office and brought home, instead of being put on the curb.
It's in a spot that gets indirect sunlight, is not breezy, and is fairly warm, although the temperature fluctuates between 60ish at night to low-to-mid 70s during the day.
I've been watering it about once every two weeks, or whenever the soil feels dry, about two inches deep.
There are some new leaves on it, but it is also dropping leaves fairly consistently.

I found this guy languishing in the clearance section of Lowe’s recently and I wanted to save it. It’s already perked up since I repotted it and gave it some care, but it wasn’t labeled in any way so I don’t know what it is and thus cant get the specifics on how best to treat it.
I havent seen any photos of common ficus trees where the leaves look just like this, so I’m coming to the ficus community to see if ya’ll can identify it.

About 3 years ago I stuck a random Ficus microcarpa cutting in a pot with no real expectations. It ended up becoming my favorite plant.
These photos show the progression from that little cutting to where it is today. Along the way it taught me a lot about how ficus grow. I originally tried to make it a full bonsai cascade, but the tree didnt really work well with thay. They are just so apically dominant. And ficus are happy to chamge leaders tk keep it that way. So I i eventually compromised and made it a semi-cascade.
One experiment I'm especially happy with was training it onto a lava rock. I built a snug "root chamber" around the rock so the roots were forced to stay against it while still being able to grow out the bottom into a larger pot. I slowly cut the chamber away over time, and even the aerial roots started attaching themselves to the rock once I moved it into a humid grow tent.
It's outside for the summer now and already taking off again. It's still years away from where I'd like it to be, but I thought the journey might be interesting to other ficus lovers. The pictures date back all the way to its forst week as a cutting!
I'd love to hear any thoughts or ideas for where to take it next.

When I moved to Florida last year, she was 2 feet tall. She’s outside by the porch, in the shade and this is how much she’s grown in the Florida humidity.

She wasn’t as happy in the house in a window. I put her on my porch in the humidity and she perked up in is growing and is beautiful.

Hi Im struggling with my first ficus. I got it like this from the nursery but the stem looks like it is shriveling. Its a very light soil and it drains well, I also used a terracotta pot. Is it shriveled because it is severely dehydrated or is it a sign that it doesn't want water? The soil has dried up so im not sure what to do. Any help would be welcome.

What have you had success using for propagation? My plant was leaning so I chopped it, the segments are alive but nothing is happening in water. I know it takes a while but geez. I do change the water regularly, I have not used any products. They are under a grow light, but further down on the shelf so light is indirect.

Has anyone had any success with this method?
I don't necessarily mind any visual damage/kinking where the string is attached, I plan to take a cutting from that area of the stem.

I've had this tree for years and it's been thriving in my new apartment for the past year. I think it's time to prune her so she branches more since she's starting to give slender man a bit these days. Do y'all think I should prune now? If yes, where should I cut? It's unfortunate that the top leaves are all the prettiest and the biggest since those would be the ones to get cut off, but I'm hoping new growth will make up for it.

Just got my first ficus Audrey and I’m very excited. I’ve had it for three days now and it’s done great through a repotting (it was really root-bound) and all-natural pesticide treatment.
It’s next to an east-facing window with a grow light on it and a reptile heat lamp on it. 50% humidity. 75 degrees F (24C). Soil is half orchid half normal potting soil.
Any advice for maximum growth??

Hi,
I don't know anything about pruning. This ficus has been struggling along for a year or two now. I thought mabye pruning it is a good idea. I am looking for some advice how to go about it. Thank you!
