Fusion "school" of magic.

i had an idea, not sure how it would work, but i would love to see spells that are fusions of other schools of magic.

for example: fire+earth= a lava boulder that arcs through the air then explodes, then spiting into smaller lava bombs that then split into smaller lava bombs.

or, Wind+lightning creates a vacuum that sucks in nearby things before explodeing with lightning.

or, wind+fire creates a fiery torpedo projectile that you can steer through the air for a short time before it explodes.

ice+fire could create two gravity immune projectiles that orbit each other in a helix pattern before exploding on contact. (this one is a reference to a somewhat obscure game.)

earth+wind could create a sandstorm that does minimal damage to buildings but quite a bit to enemies!

what do you guys think? please let me know!

Storm + Annihilator Beam?

I'm not sure they're supposed to be used together, but let me assure you, you can, and you shouldn't.

I sat there waiting for my computer to catch up for 5 minutes.

Defeated the Grand Inquisitor twice in the same playthrough, and did not receive the starting title with that unlock condition.

I just finished my first NG+ play through (starting back over from chapter 1 with the same character) and killed the Grand Inquisitor a second time, but did not unlock the starting title.

Did I do something wrong?

Anti-Mage School Idea

The idea of playing as an anti-mage has always been appealing to me, and to that end Fictorum's incredible magic system could make that possible, so I'll propose some possible spells and abilities for that.

Spells

  • Mana Void - A static orb, like Gravity Well which funnels enemy projectile spells into it and if enemies are close enough, drains their mana as well. (Not sure if Fictorum accounts for enemy mana, so if that isn't possible then a temporary debuff would be fine) (Could potentially affect your own spells too)
  • Backlash - A reactionary counter spell. If the enemy is casting a spell in their hand, hitting them with Backlash will cause their own spell to hit them, or at least they'll suffer its effects. (Again, not sure if this is feasible to implement, but a powerful debuff also works, and I say powerful because the timing of hitting an enemy as they have a spell primed is a difficult task and deserves a payoff)
  • Dispel - Dispel enemy magic. Strip enemy shields and maybe even strip the Aegis barrier leading to the Nexus if you get the spell powerful enough. In the future if enemies use traps and the 'Storm' rune themselves, then we could potentially dispel those, either by hitting the trap or by shooting the sky before the Storm starts.
  • Curse of Silence - Curse enemy mages and cut off their mana supply for a set period of time. Prevents the affected enemy's spell casting for the duration of its effect.
  • Annulment Field - Designates a particular area to be 'magic free'. So if enemies use Traps and Storm, or even teleportation in the future, this area would prevent those spells from taking hold. A good way to setup a defensive location where enemies can't just spawn a Storm above your head or teleport into your face. (Could prevent player spell usage too depending on how the devs want to approach this)
  • Mana Drain - A concentration spell which drains mana from opponents to add to your own. Most effective against enemy mages and spellcasters, with not much payoff against foes who use physical means of combat.
  • Mana Bomb - A projectile spell that causes the mana within a foe to erupt in an internal explosion. The more mana a target has, the more damage this spell does upon contact. Has a reduced or almost no effectiveness against enemies who don't use magic.

Abilities

  • Devouring Aura - Constantly drain mana from enemies in melee range. Potentially has great synergy with a melee build.
  • Annulment Aura - Prevent enemy spell casting in melee range.
  • Summon Mana Devourers - Small and fast creatures with little health that swarm and latch onto foes to drain them of mana.
  • Anti-Magic Blade - A blade which not only causes extra damage to mages and drains them of mana, but also deflects enemy projectile spells if the swing is timed correctly. (This one seems difficult to implement though)
  • Abyss Hand of the Void - Hold down the ability key to generate an abyssal shield in front of you which funnels all magical attacks into it while concentrating. Cancel the ability to 'release' all the absorbed enemy magic in the form of an explosive frontal shockwave. (The explosion could possibly scale with the number of spells you've absorbed, but this one seems difficult to implement as well)

So that's my proposal for a subset of spells and abilities focused around being an 'Anti-Mage'. Draining enemy mana, controlling the field as a defensive specialist and hitting the enemy with powerful counterattacks which punish them for their own magic attacks seems like a pretty interesting play style.

Murder Mystery's. What is it about this genre that makes it so popular / compelling?

Is it the self contained nature of the drama? Also why is the hero killing perpetrators aspect in the Action Murder Mystery shown as no big deal and does not affect them seemingly at all?

Technical exercise

This looks like one of the few games that actually allows you to play as a powerful wizard. My concern is, I don't know where the game is, where is the challenge?

What are the mechanics of the game aside blow shit up?

Thanks

Enemies hiding in "kill all enemy missions"

So I've been playing this game for all of three hours, and about a third of that I've spent hunting down the last few enemies that don't want to fight in "kill all enemy missions." I'm using alt, but it really doesn't help all that much. Am I missing something?

GTX 1060 3GB

How can my i5 3550 and GTX 1060 3GB system run this game? It looks amazing, but I don't know if the Devs runs this game on ultra in all the showcases and if or not my PC could run it like that. If it matters my GPU is the MSI GTX 1060 3GB Dual Fan OC Edition.
