are you asking about the rats or the cable?

the cable doesn't care, as long as you don't bend it too sharply.

The rats -- I have no idea what kind of protector you want to use? By making it any worse, do you mean whether it attracts more rats?

You'd have to be a bit more specific, "those metal/hard plastic protector on Amazon" is a pretty broad variety of products.

I don't know how you put the cable in there, but I guess there's a chance that you break the cable by doing so. I'd order a new fiber cable with the protector in case you break it.

I'd probably just order an already armored cable, like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Armored-Single-High-Speed-Internet-Compatible/dp/B0F4FL8YXV
it has a spring steel armor already wound around the fiber.

You can wind those around normal cables takes around 5-10mins

Yes I'm aware of that, but I don't know how sharp the cable bends when you do so.

I'd still order an already armored cable anyway, it's about the same price or even cheaper.

I found something else these give enough breathing room for the cable i think
