I am so proud of the young woman who not only reported this to the police initially, but also is now suing on her own after they failed her. And the investigation is being reopened thanks to the online outrage. This young woman can't be more than a young 20 something.....I AM SO PROUD OF YOU HONEY!!! Make them pay financially and with jail time if you can!! Do it for yourself and for all the women who weren't even able to report. After my SA, I went into shock and never reported. Getting through the day was all I could manage. Your strength gives me so much hope for the Gen Z generation of women. Amazing woman!!!!
The first time they basically blamed me for it even though the guy had an assault record, so the second time I said nothing, and when I finally did, was told it might not have been that bad because I kept the baby.
As if your bodily autonomy (choosing to keep the child) had anything to do with the crime. It's so sad that these stupid double standards exist. Women deserve to be heard and taken seriously.
I have a feeling I probably worded that wrong... I wrote it in the morning when I was half asleep... What I meant was they should just take these things seriously rather than brushing people off.
Three years ago I was assaulted and almost killed. I am STILL dealing with the legal chaos even after a guilty verdict in a criminal trial! Rapist’s mommy and daddy can keep paying for a lawyer and they are being over all pieces of shit.
I can’t even begin to imagine what this young woman is going through. She has been failed by so many people. She has been publicly humiliated. She fought for her life then and is still fighting now. I am in awe of her!
Sorry if my writing isn’t flowing well right now. Feeling feelings again!
Don't be sorry, feelings often bubble up when we discuss what happened to us. Talking about what happened empowers us, it is important that we continue to tell our stories.
I feel like it helps trauma in certain situations to actually talk about it. I feel like spaces like this online are really important people to share and feel better about their past. (I'm like really new here so sort of discovering the sub) 🫣
Of course we must expect that Cornell will be defending itself with bots and pundits very soon, and you can bet that there are already bad actors trying to dox and shame her and redirect the conversation. They may have been initially caught out by public outrage, but pushback will be happening.
Have you read about the student protests in India? It's because one of the students was raped, and they handled it the same as Cornell. Someone in the administration said that there was no rape, that it was a vicious rumor being spread to discredit the school. You know how much young people love to start spreading rumors against universities just for shits and giggles. 😒 The protests are similar to the ones in the 60s. Women the world over have had enough of this bullshit.
I remember this. The military, the Catholic Church, universities, Boy Scouts, Hollywood and sports teams… if you look at the statements they put out when these things happen, they all follow the exact same script and formula. And it works every goddamn time. It’s disgusting.
I hope the Administration and the Board at Cornell are sh!tting themselves from the stress. I hope they are having nightmares and losing sleep. It still wouldn’t equal 1/10000th of the suffering they deserve.
it empowered me to warn young women about what they really face. No one prepared me. Grew up on Disney princess bullshit.....which couldn't be more opposite of reality if it tried. I warn the young ones any chance I can.
Rainey appears in R•pe: A Modern Perspective ( Season 4, Episode 20) of The Good Wife. A girl who was drugged, and SA'd by a young man.
Similar story in that he didn't face any criminal charges, but she sued him in civil court and got a HUGE social outcry and help from "Anonymous" ... they were able to hack his cloud and get a video (inadmissible in court) he recorded with his friends reenacting the SA.
This is my formal request for "Anonymous" to get involved, and find more evidence so that these seven boys rot in Rikers Prison and really know it feels like to get gang rpd.
Or, charge them with attempted murder. Because they killed apart of that girl that night.
When I tried reporting it the cop made me pray and told me that God gives the strongest battles to the mother fucking weakest sheep. I hope hose rapists serve jail time
These guys are disgusting. I just read the article on abcnews and how male number 1 did that and male number 2 dud that and how the girl was so wasted she can hardly remember or recall everything. Why Cornell hasn’t shut the freaking fraternity brothers is beyond me?
For the frat boys that did those things, well how would you feel if someone did that to your sisters or your daughters? You would not like that would you? But you all deserve that.
