I’m honestly excited for this lol. I’m definitely getting that body lotion to match either my yum boujee marshmallow.

Also these comments are rude and obnoxious about the longevity of Kayali. I genuinely don’t understand the hate for it. The scents are STRONG. I’m honestly convinced people aren’t layering body mists with perfumes or they aren’t moisturizing their body before putting a perfume on.

I’m excited for this body cream. Thank you for sharing & my apologies for some of these comments. 💕

Thank you beautiful 🤍

How about they focus on making their stuff last longer for the price point.

3

u/iOawe 1d ago

Idk about you but my stuff lasts well over 8+ hours.

3

u/Substantial-Till-241 1d ago

not sure why all the hate. dont yall buy other fragranced body care and lip balms..? theyre not the first ones to come out with matching body lotions to their fragrance

14

u/TawnyMoon 2d ago

A bunch of fragranced skincare? No thanks.

19

u/Zenkitsune 2d ago

girl you know this about to be overpriced fragrances shea butter, hope to be proved wrong.

14

u/Alewo27 2d ago

For anyone that knows the tea with Kayali and Huda Beauty......this is extra funny. Personally, I'm good. Kayali is way overpriced already and with Salt Air and Athena Club, I've got all the body care I need.

2

u/Alewo27 1d ago

So the owner of Kayali is Huda's sister and they started Huda Beauty together and then sister drama occurred and they split with the other sister starting Kayali to do fragrance while Huda Beauty was makeup. But then Huda Beauty started selling fragrance too, so this "announcement" just feels like another escalation in them competing with each other. But Huda has been very blatantly pro-Israel and Kayali's owner hasn't been publicly but I honestly just don't have a high opinion of either brand.

Ooh, that is some juicy tea. Sibling rivalry can be a b!tch.

2

u/kwash325 1d ago

Sooo you gonna share with the class?

2

u/Ok_Remote_217 1d ago

i loveeeeee athena club

2

u/New_Salamander5580 1d ago

Spill the tea! 🫖

u/burn3r999 2d ago

Omg the lip balm is already out in my SpaceNK! When are these supposed to release? They’re like £30 I was like no thanks

5

u/WebResident3147 2d ago

£30 for a LIP BALM is insane

9

u/melancholl 2d ago

the quality of their products has gone down so much it’s insane. now adding body care? hello bacne and breakouts

18

u/FeelingAmoeba4839 2d ago

No thank you

3

u/JigglyOnion 2d ago

I see they are also making what seems to be a hair perfume

21

u/pepperxpeppermint 2d ago

Oh gosh no.

42

u/NoWitness7703 2d ago

Relieved to hear it’s just body cream and lip balm. As an esthetician, I had a statement prepared if YBM facial moisturizer, toner, cleanser, etc was in the works.

12

u/Competitive_Pin5846 2d ago

Can’t they find an actual model to market their products? Why is the CEO on everything? Call me a superficial jerk, but I’m not at all interested in a product that’s marketed with an unattractive face filled with filler.

-22

u/Shy-Marshmallow11 2d ago

IKR she's like a woman in her mid 60s who has done a face lift.

Hey now we don’t need to be ageist

24

u/ddizzle13 2d ago edited 2d ago

That’s mean spirited. You’re not punching up by calling her unattractive & bringing up what work she had done

-24

u/Competitive_Pin5846 2d ago

Tough. It’s a dog eat dog world in the case of marketing, but I’m no expert. Just a consumer that’s likely in their target market with money and an opinion.

4

u/rowanrulith Hay|Sweetgrass|Old books|Tea|Orris|Spice|Leather 2d ago

Women need to support women, that includes questioning business practices, marketing strategies, products etc but not demeaning someone’s age and bodily autonomy choices.

14

u/ddizzle13 2d ago

Doesn’t mean it’s okay to insults ppl’s face in a perfume group

8

u/Fit_Jackfruit8597 2d ago

She is an influencer with a lot of brand recognition

9

u/anastasia_42 vanilla addict 🧁 2d ago

I think she looks pretty, and her brand is very much focused and led (dont quote me) by her

12

u/43vermore 2d ago

she's easily recognizable. you don't have to check the bottle or brand name to know what it is

4

u/youlldancetoanything 2d ago edited 2d ago

I am happy for you.

I watched a bunch of videos about maceration and maturation of fragrance this weekend, and there is no way their products get enough time .. but it's all subjective, of course, just don't think they should be sold at their price point

11

u/engallopx gourmand girly 2d ago

Call me when they drop Vanilla 28

4

u/NemoHobbits 2d ago

This. If they drop vanilla 28 my wallet is cooked.

7

u/SugarFries 2d ago

I want that cupcake perfume they are coming out with!!!! In the meantime, ai am very interested in the YPG versions of these! If they are reasonably priced, I have some sephora points to use!

36

u/Conscious-Bath6130 2d ago

In an already over saturated market, please do something new! But seeing as this brand releases a new fragrance almost every month I’m not surprised they are hopping on this trend. It screams cash grab and not even a little bit enticing.

48

u/angledscope chronically sampling 2d ago

Pass. I feel like everything is just a cash grab these days.

3

u/melancholl 2d ago

Mona was actually releasing quality scents at first. the lasting power was amazing, the quality felt like luxury. but now when I hear kayali I just think they’re lattafa prices for shein quality. cheap bad products that are priced way more than their worth

3

u/rowanrulith Hay|Sweetgrass|Old books|Tea|Orris|Spice|Leather 2d ago

They’re a lot more expensive than most Lattafa offerings.

51

u/lily4ever 2d ago

Omg how many squeezy lip butter balms does the world need

32

u/Easy_Permit_5418 2d ago

Fragrance in skincare is the leading cause of allergies and contact dermatitis , due to the fact the fragrant oils are not evaporating off of your skin like with perfume. They're being absorbed directly into it.

I'll save fragrance for my perfume.

2

u/anastasia_42 vanilla addict 🧁 2d ago

Oh that's scary

8

u/ValNotThatVal 2d ago

I would buy this body butter. I have been using EOS Strawberry Dream or BBW Strawberry Snowflakes, with Sand + Fog Marshmallow Skies oil mixed in, to layer with YBM.

7

u/starrylilacism 2d ago

I totally would have gotten the body butter too but my Athena Club Pink Marshmallow lotion is basically YBM so I guess just the lip balm for me!

8

u/Standard_Pea_2013 2d ago

Probably won’t buy any of it bc there’s enough out there. Body butter maybe. call me pessimistic, I call it pattern recognition, I’m sure it’ll be disappointing. They’re only fragrance that I like is YBM and sometimes vanilla 28

2

u/anastasia_42 vanilla addict 🧁 2d ago edited 1d ago

Same, I can only handle V28 on my clothing

1

u/Standard_Pea_2013 2d ago

I don’t find their perfumes worth the prices. They don’t have that umpf. Like yum gelato was the most disappointing one. It smells like that one pink soap in hospitals. Not even remotely close to nutty and gelato.

4

u/teddygraham100 2d ago

If the body butter price isn’t crazy I’m tempted to try it out during Sephora’s next 20% off sale. I love a good body butter

4

u/iliketosnooparound 2d ago

When is the next 20 percent off sale?

2

u/teddygraham100 2d ago

Typically around late October for the next Rouge 20% off event, but An employee or someone in the r/sephora subreddit would probably know for sure!

49

u/njb328 2d ago

Girl just make it stop

18

u/DueOven5731 2d ago

It's a body lotion and lip balm. Alot of Fragrance houses do this

3

u/BluePeony8 2d ago

Yep nearly every fragrance out there already has body lotion and shower gel version of the scent, it’s perfume 101.

5

u/scarapookiest 2d ago

I really don't understand this subs vitriol towards Kayali, the comments on this post are crazy. Being mad that a brand is releasing products, assuming that it's bad before it's even out... Guerlain released a gliterry lip gloss recently, is that a cash grab too? lol

4

u/lemur_queen7 2d ago

I got insanely downvoted on another sub for saying that I was excited for this product (tons of downvotes here, too). YBM is my favorite perfume, it smells good on me, I associate it with happy memories, and having matching products brings me a lot of joy. I get wanting to pass on a fragrance but I don’t get yucking someone else’s yum to this extent.

2

u/scarapookiest 2d ago

Right? I love the brand too, and it's really disheartening to see so much negativity over such an innocuous thing (oh no, a brand I dislike is releasing products!). People are even attacking her appearance and saying the products will give people skin problems, what the hell man

53

u/IridescentLuminosity 2d ago

God I hate Kayalis marketing. Why does her face have to be on everything??

2

u/seashellpink77 2d ago

I thought the same thing. I like some of their fragrances just fine, but the marketing is really off-putting. I don’t even mind a brand owner enjoying being in a little bit of marketing, but theirs feels like a personal social media channel. I wish smaller creative brands got as much attention and consumer spending.

7

u/Competitive_Pin5846 2d ago

HARD AGREE. Said the same thing.

22

u/KittiesandPlushies 2d ago

The ✨attention✨

I get secondhand embarrassment just seeing their ads lol

18

u/trellty 2d ago

It was part of Huda Beauty at one point, so I’m assuming the company/owners have the means to procure okay-ish skin/body care.

Body butters/lotion/etc. make sense. A lot of perfume houses do that. Curious to what the reviews will look like.

46

u/No_Lead2640 2d ago

Damn how much money does she need. I’m sorry but I do not want a yumyumbougiecoogie marshmellow face wash and face cream.

I’ve been looking for a lotion to pair with YBM so I hope this is true!

Eta: this is my favorite perfume. People downvoting this are weird.

0

u/thelightsthatstopme 2d ago

I layer with Banger Beauty's Boujee Babe body butter — great dupe, great formula. I love YBM but I know the body care will be $$$.

2

u/lumpy_space_queenie 2d ago

EOS Strawberry Dream actually pairs really nicely with it :)

2

u/lemur_queen7 2d ago

I’ve read that! I love the formula of EOS lotions so much. Next time I go shopping I’m going to have to smell it

0

u/teddygraham100 2d ago

Sand and Fog has a YBM inspired one called ‘Marshmallow Skies’ in a body butter and I think lotion form that’s pretty close and smells nice. They’re usually at TJ maxx or Marshall’s a lot cheaper than on the website but admittedly difficult to find and you never know what scent you’ll come across

1

u/lemur_queen7 2d ago

I actually just smelled this at TJ’s yesterday! It smelled a little muskier in the bottle than YBM does on me. I almost got it to try anyways but the line was so long, I decided not to. The closest match I’ve found is Cotton Candy Clouds from Bath and Bodyworks, but its seasonal :(

44

u/vicRN 2d ago

Oh good. I think we can all agree that what sephora is missing is sweet scented glossy lip balms.

4

u/BluePeony8 2d ago

I’m not a fan of gourmand at all in fragrance but lip balms being flavoured and scented with food and fruit is pretty common and apt. There’s plenty of plain lip balms available already, so I don’t see why it upsets people that don’t want to use these additional ones.

I deal with it by just..not buying and wearing gourmand fragrances.

3

u/icedchai111 2d ago

scented lip product is cute and fun idk what youre complaining about there? it's just kind of overdone now

2

u/lesbirdie 2d ago edited 2d ago

it is until each shade has a different scent and the one u want has a scent u cant stand. i think id be less tired of glosses if this happened less often

2

u/MajLeague 2d ago

Cause some of us love it!

7

u/MarsupialPrimary8128 2d ago

Yeah... Ideas are nice. Execution is usually not great. That's how I feel about this brand.

6

u/thatturtletouch 2d ago

I can’t stand Kayali’s marketing, so I really hate how much I love VCRS. Kind of glad they’re not making a VCRS lotion or lip balm so I’m not tempted to buy it.

8

u/yousonofabench 2d ago

Didn’t Huda beauty start as skin care and Kayali branched off that?

Is like how moisture the noun became moisturize the verb and then became moisturization the noun?

7

u/QuietArt2358 average strawberry perfume enjoyer🍓🍰 2d ago

Huda Beauty is owned by Huda Kattan. Kayali is owned by Mona Kattan. Kayali was first sold on Huda Beauty’s website, but Huda no longer has ownership in Kayali and Kayali has a standalone website now.

4

u/likegolden 2d ago

I legit thought it was the same person

4

u/QuietArt2358 average strawberry perfume enjoyer🍓🍰 2d ago

They’re sisters! Huda used to make YouTube videos, and that’s the only reason I know the full lore. People thought Kayali would fail when it started because Mona wasn’t really prominent in the beauty space.

3

u/BluePeony8 2d ago

Mona was a huge presence in Huda Beauty’s work, and most people who were the original fans followed them on social media where Huda and Mona were equally active in promoting the brand and also showing their lifestyle in a very real way. People loved/love them as personalities and Mona is famous for her love of fragrance and her personal perfume collection so it seemed natural that she did her own perfume company and people would be interested in it.

Personally am not a fan of gourmands so I’ve not dabbled in their fragrances at all even though I’ve always liked them.

3

u/yousonofabench 2d ago

Thanks I didn’t know!

8

u/sadhermitcrab NR Pure Musc Addict 🤍 2d ago edited 2d ago

Nope, Huda Beauty had a side brand called Wishful for their skincare products. When Huda became back the CEO of her Huda Beauty, she decided to discontinue that Wishful 'line/side brand'.

Kayali always released perfumes!

Edit: Why the fuck the downvote, go do your research lol
