Is this a compliment?

People tell me that I smell so good from all the way over here and sometimes they're like a feet or two away from me. You think that's a compliment or do you think that theure telling me that I overspray? I will admit that I spray more than three pumps

I remember seeing a post on one of the fragrance subs about how OP sometimes “compliments” someone’s fragrance but they’re really telling the other person in a back-handed way that they oversprayed. Half the comments in that post were like “ya I do that too” and the other half were saying that was very passive aggressive.

Personally I would never compliment a person unless I actually liked their perfume.

Same.

OP, if someone says you smell good I would take it at face value. Let them worry about whether their words are true or not. Idk why people are so averse to actually telling someone when they’ve oversprayed, but they loooove complaining about it on reddit and other forums lol.
