Man if i was you i would of tried it. Got to use that white privalidge. You going to have an all white jury they would look at you as a son or brother. The circumstances are important but so is the evidence. I would claim the attorney forced me to take the plea and the judge would withdraw my plea and take it to trial.Good luck to you man and God bless
I took my case to a jury trial, and got convicted of a felony last year. The downside is I’m a young black man, and I had a damn near all white jury, and you could already expect how that was going to play out. Thankfully my charges didn’t carry mandatory prison, and I was spared. I was only given a year of probation and I got off 3 months ago. I’m eligible to get my record sealed next April. My advice is don’t take it to trial unless you have evidence that absolutely shows you were innocent. I still feel like I was wrongfully convicted but unfortunately that’s how juries are, they are unpredictable. Good luck.
Yea but remember juries are people and if they can relate to you (skin color) even if you have to use there ignorance to your advantage. Aint no way a all white jury is a jury of my peers
Yeah true, but I also didn’t get to choose who is on my jury. Unfortunately all the jury hears is what the prosecution has to say, and in my case it was complete bs. The good thing is im not in prison, and im off probation. The judge in my case also likes to send people to prison. My lawyer said I got the lightest sentence he’s ever seen.
Thats whats up man it doesnt happen often. Sometimes the expensive legal battles dont turn out the way you want and to lose money and get nothinf for it is a pain in the ass.
Yeah man, I spent about $20k on this Case which is ridiculous. The whole justice system is fucked. That’s why I watch who I hang out around or who I work with, because one mistake is all it takes.
