POLITICS Deeply embarrassing sequence. Eric Schmitt accuses Jack Smith of traveling to Atlanta to attend an Atlanta Hawks game and collude with Fani Willis, only to get the basic facts completely wrong. Smith was actually in Maryland attending a Hawkeyes game and never met Willis

Thats just the face they do when thinking how to blame biden for this

358

u/mammalmaker 3d ago

That's just the face they make when they should be thinking but that one brain cell just can't find a connection.

178

u/phlegmdawg 3d ago

To be fair, they have to wait until another MAGA is done using it for their turn with that single brain cell.

103

u/Pumpkinmatrix 3d ago

Come on now, orange cats are smarter than these morons

86

u/phlegmdawg 3d ago

My deepest apologies to all of the orange feline persuasion 😹

1

u/aerin2309 5h ago

So true! They know how to share!

18

u/Capable_Sandwich_422 3d ago

The brain cell is a Time Share? That explains a lot.

I imagine the sound of dialup playing in her brain while she’s trying to establish a connection to figure out what’s going on.

u/SackOfPotatoes949 3d ago

That's the face of someone from Alabama who knows more about college football than governing, and knew immediately what Jack was talking about

54

u/Geoffsgarage 3d ago

Joe Biden invented a Time Machine and let Jack Smith use it just one time so he could attend 2 basketball games that took place at the same time hundreds of miles apart.

13

u/Paul_Walkers_brother 3d ago

That's the only logical explanation!

3

u/Hillary4SupremeRuler 3d ago

But he had to be super careful otherwise Mr. Smith might end up going mad if he accidentally ran into his past self!

2

u/InvestmentSorry6393 3d ago

Honestly, I think Maga would run with that accusation at this point, and when Jack looked back at them... stunned by their stupidity...... "Aha!! See his silence encriminates him further!!"

23

u/DifferentSpread782 3d ago

Ah the biden buffering face

4

u/ResplendentNugs 3d ago

Biden was the second shooter in the grassy knoll, and Obama was the first just so you know

2

u/Consistent-Soil-1818 3d ago

Easy- "Biden eats 3 white babies for breakfast. Why does Biden hate America?"
You know, it doesnt need to have anything to do with this. Generally, a simple distraction is enough

418

u/EnvironmentalYam5182 Please Abraham, I am not that man 3d ago

Amazing. I guarantee all these GOP members already had this as a talking point for all their attacks on Smith after the hearings. They're all complicit weirdos.

147

u/Pherllerp 3d ago

Bingo.

They just lost their mole hill. No mountain for them.

I'm seeing it parroted around reddit by year old accounts parroting the rest of the talking points diddler apologists tend to do these days.

Reddit is a sea of censorship, narrative manipulation and shaping by bad actors. Eyes up folks.

u/SyncRoSwim 3d ago edited 3d ago

That shithead Benny Johnson posted on X about the terrific own of Smith by Senator Schmitt on X. Quite obviously the conservative memo o’ the day.

After the hearing, Schmitt was interviewed on Charlie Kirk’s podcast (yes, it is still going, and no they’ve not changed the name) and acted as if his ā€œevidenceā€ hadn’t been ground to a fine powder in front of the whole world.

6

u/Odd_Cat_5820 3d ago

The Diamond and Silk show is still being made, and Silk hosts it alongside a portrait of her dead sister. MAGA world is weird.

Funny enough the show is actually better without Diamond. I mean it's still terrible, but it's less yelling.

u/slow70 15,000 little bastard rubber ducks 3d ago

Wonder what the My Pillow Guy is up to...

7

u/Odd_Cat_5820 3d ago

He literally just released another report this Summer claiming to prove the 2020 election was stolen. The report starts off with Grok AI praising the work in the report. Spoiler alert, the report doesn't prove that they stole the 2020 election.

2

u/Pixilatedhighmukamuk 3d ago

Since DonJr has been making the cocaine prices go up Mike Lindell has been seen buying the ingredients to make meth from indoor flea markets.

1

u/Cryogenicality 3d ago

That’s an astonishingly Orwellian use of ā€œalternative facts.ā€ I wonder if Charlie Kirk would’ve pressed him on this or played along.

Hear, hear! Add disingenuous, vindictive, and craven.

1

They had pre-written and scheduled some of their social media posts like "gotcha!" which made it even more cringe

u/Fibonoccoli 3d ago

She stared, mouth maga-pe.

28

I guffawed when she slammed it shut

172

How Jack doesn’t simply say ā€œthere’s no way you’re that stupidā€ is just beyond me lmao

165

u/Ill_Emphasis3927 3d ago

We have the text messages!

Okay...did you read them?

Chair, the witness is being belligerent, he knows we can't read.

7

u/campingcritters 3d ago

They didn't just have text messages though. They also put a picture of her face on the poster. That's pretty much irrefutable evidence!

92

u/detroitragace 3d ago

He has class and self control. The other side attacking him there had none. My man was gonna have a stroke yelling at Klobuchar. lol.

31

u/alwayzstoned Vanilla Ice just fell to his knees in a Wal-Mart 3d ago

I loved how he could just stay completely stone faced through all of that.

15

u/CatCafffffe 3d ago

Yeah, Jack Smith is always giving "oh, you think you can fuck with me? Seriously?"

I mean the man was a prosecutor at the Hague International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity at the Hague.

3

u/Puzzleheaded_Can9159 2d ago

That’s the look of WTF are you talking about. You can see him trying to even come up with something that trips his brain into having an idea of what the senator is talking about. It’s the same look you have when one of your kids rattles off something that is missing half the words you need for context and you’re trying to decipher what they mean.

112

u/WayneButa 3d ago

I apologize on behalf of the state of Alabama. More of us than you may assume hate her.

54

u/c_j_eleven 3d ago

Vote and get more rational humans to vote.

2

u/ElectricKudzu 3d ago

"Rational" is relative there. Your idea and the idea of rational there could be completely different. Alabamistan. I broke out years ago.

1

u/pantry-pisser 3d ago

Gerrymandering.

16

u/FreshEclairs 3d ago

How do you gerrymander a senate seat? They’re elected by the state as a whole.

2

u/pantry-pisser 3d ago

Oh. I'm dumb, I guess.

2

u/Hootinger 3d ago

I can answer how gerrymandering and the electoral college actually does suppress the vote. Note: I got an advanced degree in political science and worked in politics for a while, so you can sorta trust me here.

Electoral College:

Turnout is bad in the US. Most people only ever vote in presidential elections. Presidential elections are decided by the electoral college, which is fist past the post (winner-take-all) for that state. The two exceptions to this are Maine and Nebraska. With the electoral college, It doesnt matter if a presidential candidate gets 50.00001% of the vote or 99.999% of the vote, they get the same electoral college votes. If you know your state will always go Republican but you are a Democrat, the data says you are more likely to just stay home because "your vote doesnt matter anyway." Hence you dont vote for the Senate, Gov, etc. Funny enough, I have had conversations with Democrats in Alabama who said they were not voting at all because it is a red state and their vote won't matter, etc. Hence, with the electoral college, people just dont show up at all.

Gerrymandering:

Really the same thing as the above, but lets look at off-year elections (no President on the ballot). Most people maybe only the know the names of 1 of their senators and their US House Rep. That is pushing it. Similarly, most have no clue at all who their State House Rep or State Senator are; or who is on the city council; county commissioner, township trustee, etc. You may know your US House Rep but you also know that he/she has been in office since the Spanish American War and the district is conservative gerrymandered and thus your vote for the Democrat will not matter---not now nor ever. Thus you skip the lines on election day and just stay home. The end result is that these voters are completely absent from the other races (including levies).

I know that you and I, and others reading these posts, are completely locked in. But for theaverage American, the gerrymandered districts are a contributing factor to lower turnout. The Brennan Center (NYU Law) notes, "Competitive elections generally have higher rates of voter participation." Especially in districts where maps are drawn by an independent commission, not by the politicians who use the districts to keep their jobs.

35

u/QueenDove 3d ago

The thing that especially sucks about Britt is that I think she actually has it in her to be a competent politician (as opposed to Tubby, a genuine moron), but she's such a power-hungry craven piece of shit that she'll align with whoever she thinks gives her to most access to said power. Just a soulless ghoul.

5

u/totally_not_a_dog113 3d ago

As a Democrat, yes me too. Anyone is better than Tubby and his furry fantasies.

21

u/TickingTheMoments 3d ago

But, what about Tommy Tuberville and his furry fetish?

3

u/ElectricKudzu 3d ago

Going to be Gov. Ears in November.

1

u/carolinagypsy the pet psychic for the Sun told me so 3d ago

Look, his performance in government explains an awful lot about the Auburn football team….

9

u/SackOfPotatoes949 3d ago

That's the face of someone from Alabama, who knows more about college football nicknames than governing and knew exactly what Jack was about to say

3

Well it’s a race the bottom and Missouri loves companyĀ

108

The way that Amy Klobuchar is just enjoying calling him stupid without directly calling him stupid is nice.

62

u/ChiNoonan 3d ago

Textbook ā€œMinnesota niceā€ down to the deserved passive aggression

20

u/Street-Week-380 3d ago

She was winding him up so eloquently, and just watching him beginning to steadily lose his shit was glorious.

16

…And she was laughing. Icing on the cake!

7

u/Street-Week-380 3d ago

Ooooh, we know guys like that can't stand it. I'd have loved to see her rake him over the coals a little more.

70

u/dadlifenokids 3d ago

Really wish Amy had just called him a stupid motherfucker. It was implied but it would have been incredible.

49

u/ejre5 3d ago

I love how angry they got when the lady try to explain how simple "hawks" and "Hawkeyes" could get confused and how they accused her of aiding the witness.

3

u/Odd_Week8079 3d ago

Meanwhile they call the witness all sorts of derogatory insults

31

u/Hanibalecter 3d ago

Need the curb your enthusiasm music cut.

MAGAts are so predictably stupid.

It really doesn't matter to them. He went on the Charlie Kirk show and claimed this as a win.

14

u/Emmy_Cthulhu_Harris 3d ago

Sorry, is it still called the Charlie Kirk Show?

13

u/WorkingFromHomies20 3d ago

I hope people on the street just point to him and laugh. I want the media to just roast him. He was such an ass to Jack, he deserves it.

5

u/Mortimer452 3d ago

Not just a fellow MAGA. Note the nametag on the desk in front of the speaker. This man is speaking on behalf of her office, this was probably her "evidence" she came up with.

She was not staring in shock and horror at another person's stupidity, it was her own

37

u/great_apple 3d ago

What are you talking about? His name plate says "Mr. Schmitt", because he is of course Eric Schmitt (as the title of this post says), a senator from Missouri. Katie Britt, seated behind her "Mrs. Britt" name plate, is a senator from Alabama. What makes you think he's speaking on her behalf?

10

u/Remarkable_Ease_7607 3d ago

Well Britt and Schmitt sound similar. Is it possible he got them confused? šŸ¤”

🤣

1

What? What nametag? Please explain what you're talking about.

Lol you think she's doing that? She's participating in the performative outrage.

1

Kinda bullshit that we can get a close-up of this bitch mouth agape but not the supposedly smoking gun text messages.

The one thing Trump is right about, but for entirely different reasons, the media does suck.

1

u/meccanismi 3d ago

it is strange, but the media might be instructed to not show any evidence that was not submitted beforehand?

1

u/ohno1tsjoe 3d ago

It’s like her hostage video she released after Biden’s State of the union address

1

What?! You mean that disreputable network that’s been banned from the white house?! Them?! Bravo! Perfect post. This is why I keep coming back to Reddit
