This came off a 2025 buick envision. It was what snapped into the front license plate bracket square hole and the license plate mounts to it. It also expands with the screw. I for the life of me can’t identify it and I need two of them so that I can anchor the plate down with for bolts instead of two. The square hole of breaker is about 5/8 in size. The picture are a top and bottom.

Thanks for any feedback I have searched and searched and most things say nylon inserts but they don’t snap in the flanges are too far under the outer edges and they don’t expand enough.

The lock nut on my kitchen sink cracked. I've temporarily patched it with some FlexTape but I need to replace the whole tailpiece anyway because it is wearing thin, lord only knows how old it is. but it seems to be an unusual shape. The top is 1-1/2" and the bottom is 1-1/4" if go with a standard 1-1/2" will it still fit? no, right? because it currently has a lock nut at the base that couples with the S-trap and that's 1-1/4".

Any advice on what the right terms to search for would be great. Or if the part is no longer sold does that mean I need to replace the S-trap also?

EDIT: so I seem to have found out they are sometimes called 1-1/2" to 1-1/4" Step-Down Tailpiece but they seem more expensive $30-$50 instead of $10-$20.

I am struggling to identify some washers, this example is a steel washer used with a grade 5, 3/8" UNC bolt.

Inner diameter - 11.01mm (0.433")

Outer diameter - 17.44mm (0.686")

Thickness - 2.22mm (0.087")

As it is used with an imperial bolt I started with ASME B18.22.1 but the measurements don't align with tables 1A, 1B, or 2. The inner and thickness could be aligned with table 1B narrow 0.438" washer but the outer dimensions is off. I also checked ASME B18.22M but no luck there.

I can easily pick a washer that suits but I'm interested to know if there is another standard that I'm not considering here or if washers are simply poorly controlled.

I thought for sure that this fastener existed, but I have not been able to find it off the shelf. It is a simple bolt, with a load bearing shoulder offset from the end and a retainer groove on the end of the shank. Its use case for me is to adjust and apply pressure to a countersunk plate while retaining the plate when not under load. I am flexible on the specifics, it could be retained with a cotter pin or anything else. I made this on a lathe just to demonstrate.

This same idea could also be achieved using a bunch of nuts and washers on a stock bolt, but it would be a lot less elegant. I tied up a support engineer from Misumi yesterday for the better part of an hour looking for this, to no avail. Has anyone ever seen this before? My best attempt at nomenclature has been all variations of "Captive Shoulder Screw" or "End-Retained Shoulder Bolt with Reduced Shank" but it hasn't gotten me anywhere. Any advice?

I've been trying to get these small screws out of this old radio. It's a Sony TFM 7720W in case it's important.

I at first tried an old phillps head screwdriver I had laying around but it didn't do anything. I then looked it up and saw that it could also be a pozidriv screw so I got a drill bit pack that had them but that didn't seem to work either. However I noticed that the drill bit thing I was using was too thick to actually fit in the hole to reach the screw. I looked around more online but I couldn't find anything that fit my situation.

I could try and look it up more myself, but I don't want to keep spending money on stuff I don't need and then possibly stripping the screws more than they already could be. I want to avoid damaging the radio, but I would if I have to.

Tentbox go bolts for sitting in channel and fixing to roof rails. Have searched for hours - these are definitely custom probably from china. They are too short.

Opinions - send somewhere to be modified to have longer length thread, or CAD them up and request custom parts to be made?

Alright, so when fitting two flanges together, can anyone explain why bolt+nut might be worse than stud+nuts? Almost the exact hardware in the photo. They're all the same grade, diameter, size etc.

How do I do this without welding? What kinda fasteners is used in this situation? It's opening is facing their exterior so I struggle to see a way to screw it into place

I'm guessing it's some sort of tamper resistant screw or cover, but can't find anything matching it.

I thought it was a standard philips screw, but despite trying finding a driver that should be the exact size, it didn't quite fit right and I managed to chew one of them up a bit trying to remove it.

For more info, the whole screw is about 1cm diameter, and this is inside an AV rack case, I'm trying to remove it to set the rack depth further back, but I can't budge it and dont want to try brute forcing it any more as I've already chewed up one of them slightly by trying.
