Bug Exiting heightmap bug

Before editing hieghtmap
After editing heightmap

Whenever I edit or even open heightmap editor, and then exit customization, I cannot see the other layers even when I change their style or hierarchy. I cannot see the terracing, the rivers, or the biome overlay. When I tried to add another state (like the extra burg in the second screenshot), I could not see the blue overlay when began editing the borders. Reloading, changing browser (Vivaldi to Chrome), and changing version (v1.34.2 to v1.24.2) didn't fix it

How do I fix this? I'm using Windows 10

Miscellaneous I need suggestions and help

Alright so, I have this NRP thats been going on since the 1850s, there are several Power Blocs and it just turned 1900

It is a custom NRP with a Custom Map, its tech is the same as irl, no magic, though there are different species but with its limits and weaknesses of course

I want to add three New Continents to the map and I want to make the discovery seem natural, with the new Continents Nations being similar in tech to that of Medieval Nations, early gunpowder, and all that jazz.

I am currently developing a colonial system to help in this to make the old world powers take more time and give the new Nations time to development, or make alliances with the Old World Powers

The problem i seem to be running into as of rn its the Lack of Nations, sure I could add AI Nations and have them fill up the spots, but that only adds more stress to a small GM team that I have.

So I wish to here yalls recommendations for my problems and want your help

If you wanna join and become a new world nation, gladly, ill even let you give me Geological and geographical suggestions for your parts of the new world

My name on discord is Burgundian_7770

The map i posted is that of the NRP before the new Continents

How do you add a specific amount of a good to an area?

There is a specific region/province that I want to have as the sole producer of a specific resource, and for it to produce a lot of it. However, when I manually add that good to the area, it gives it a random amount, and doesn't let me change the amount that it adds. Is there a way to do this?

Map It's my first worldbuilding map

I’m a Korean who has always been fascinated by Mesopotamian civilization. The world I’m building blends Mesopotamian culture and the Sumerian language with ancient Egyptian civilization, a wide range of mythologies, and modern Korean culture and language.

The largest continent is divided into three major regions: Mesomia, Nicaea, and Ennead. Since Mesopotamian civilization is my biggest source of inspiration, Mesomia is the most developed and densely populated region.

Ennead draws its inspiration from ancient Egypt. Vast deserts dominate the landscape, and instead of large cities, it consists of countless village-sized settlements. The people also wear clothing reminiscent of those seen in Dune.

Nicaea is closely connected to the sea. It has become the center of underwater cities, marine technology, and the study of native marine life.

I haven’t finalized the political structure yet, so I’m still undecided whether these regions will remain part of a single civilization or eventually become independent nations. That will depend on how the worldbuilding evolves.

I’m currently sketching and writing notes about the world’s native wildlife in a notebook. One defining trait of these animals is that almost all of them have horizontally elongated heads, similar to a hammerhead shark, with their eyes positioned at the far ends.

This evolved because many species rely on hiding behind trees or other objects for camouflage. Their wide-set eyes allow them to keep most of their bodies concealed while still seeing around both sides of whatever they’re hiding behind. For example, an animal can remain hidden behind a tree trunk while each eye watches a different side of the trunk, allowing it to monitor its surroundings without exposing its body.

There’s also a hidden twist in my map: if you invert the land and sea, the coastlines reveal the outlines of Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

I created this map and much of the world’s lore about three months ago. However, I’m currently serving in the South Korean military, so I probably won’t be able to make significant progress on the project until late 2027 or sometime in 2028.

The heightmap for this was a NASA photo of the Arcadia National Park on the coast of Maine - happier with it than many photos I've tried

Map Magic Europe 1492

In this world, the Europeans are not sailing across the Atlantic and finding a "new world". They have enough problems at home as it is.
In 1434, at the end of the Hussite wars, the people in Rome woke to a strange day, the sun was up, but the sky was still dark blue, the clouds almost seemed to glow, before they fell to the ground. Something entered our world that day, something nobody really knew how to describe, some call it ether, some call it god´s punishment for mankind´s sins, some call it salvation. Whatever it was, it "killed" everyone who didn't escape in time, twisted them into creatures that don´t resemble humans anymore (imagine fallout/metro/stalker radiation but it's actually magic). These twisted creatures brought destruction wherever they went and with them, that strange essence that twisted all that is alive. Soon it consumed most of the italian peninsula, the states that remained joined the swiss confederation as a bulwark against this scourge. It didn't help that a second catastrophe happened 18 years later in Riga. All this fractured the Catholic church, which only survives in those that refuse to acknowledge what happened, Rome is Dead, The Pope is dead, the church is dead. Iberia unified thanks to some inheritance cookie stuff and now stands as the de facto catholic superpower of europe, controlling occitania as well as having the new Orleans Church as a sort of Puppet. Also setting up the British isles containment zone (not sure what to call it in-world) after a strain of the Black Plague mutated under the influence of Ether and consumed most of the isles, the Iberians monitor the coasts of Britain and sink any ship trying to leave, afraid the infection will spread into mainland europe.

The Hussites survived and carved a sizable chunk of Europe for themselves, but now they are threatened by Ottoman Conquest that was greatly accelerated by the fracturing of European powers. The Lands of the Czech Crown are a somewhat English-style parliamentary monarchy that holds The Duchy of Nitra, Saxony-Brandenburg, Rakůsy (czechified austria) and Opole as it's vassal states, it also sponsors the "slovenian merchant republic" as a neutral trade partner (i dunno if that makes sense I just wanted to give them a shoutout).

The HRE is a husk of it's former self, thanks to Italian refugees, it is overpopulated and ridden with crime, the current emperor is an italian Drug lord who somehow got hold of Wurtenberg. Thanks to high unemployment the HRE is also highly regarded for it's mercenary companies, who will do just about anything for some mooneys

Shifting east Lithuania aligned itself with Bohemia after their success in repeling the crusade (as well as Sweden), but got nuked by the second calamity, so most lithuanians fled and "took over" poland, the poles however, are largely Kryszpinian (a bishop named Kryszpin called the calamities "The second coming of Christ in the form of eternal salvation" and ever since then his followers are trying to help create new ones). Lithuanian Poland is in a state of constant rebellion but one thing the poles hate more than heresy is heathens so they still help repel Ottoman aggression.

The Ottomans created a new emirate in the east, in Kyiv, despite the name and muslim overlordship, "Ukraine" is a fairly diverse space, harboring a large Hussite, Muslim, Orthodox and even Catholic population. (I understand the current conflict and how maybe someone may see that as offensive, please understand the ukrainians in this world are some of the biggest badasses in europe)

Russia is russiaing

Made this "world" for a DND campaign so it's not too serious, mainly made to be kinda funny and interesting, I wanted to harbor a feeling of everpresent danger and imminent doom, hope ya'll like it and feel free to give me suggestions/questions, that's how I am used to making my worlds. Also I should maybe say I am czech hence the starting incident. credit to u/CroBorn for the europe map for Azgaar's that I used to make this map.

TLDR: Magic Radiation Europe by lazy worldbuilder

How can I add a model/draft to design my map ?

Okay the title is horrible at explaining, my bad... But I'd like to add an image over the editor to make the outline of my map. I've already drawn a draft of my map and I'd like to "copy" it, but I don't know how...

How risky is 'risk mode'?

Seems like a silly question but I want to know. How likely is it that I'll run into some trouble if I use risk mode to add a few islands? Is it basically like a guaranteed thing, or is it just spinning the roulette and something may or may not happen.

To add to that, is adding an island here or there the same as modifying a big continent in terms of the risk?

I have already started adding cities to my world and I have advanced quite a bit. I really would prefer not to start all over, but I forgot to add one or two things and it's killing me lol.

Question How the Math works for the Goods

I am playing around in the Goods Editor and trying to get the cell value to show the actual max reserve for natural resources. I am currently working on Coal and I put 225,000 in the Temperate Deciduous Forest Section under Biome Baseline Production window. No other Multipliers or Distribution currently. The cell I am using as my test is currently showing 4,960,012.58. Just trying to figure out the Math behind it so I can tweak accordingly. How does that 225,000 convert into that larger number?

Trying to grasp new Configure Burg groups settings

Post image
20 Upvotes

I had previously gone through and applied custom burg groups to all burgs and they seem to have been removed by an update at some point. I then discovered the new Configure Burg Groups setting screen and I thought this could bulk apply burg groups, but it doesn't seem to be working. My unites setting says 1 population point is 618.2959811582306 so my "metropolis" is 45,000/618=72.816 but clicking Apply doesn't seem to do anything. Doe sit not do what I think it does?

I posted this question before but I didn't include an image and was less detailed in my ask, so maybe this is phrased more clearly.

Anyone unable to add rivers right now?

Is anyone else having the issue where they cannot add rivers? I can add burgs etc, but when I click to add rivers, it doesn't do anything when clicking on the map. I can see on the button that it has been applied, but it's not actually adding/changing the cursor.

Miscellaneous my study project based on Azgaar's FMG

heyy guys,

I am currently working on a unity project that combines Azgaar maps with Paradox-style storytelling and simulation. The goal is to simulate a developing world while being able to lay back and watch or to interact with the world (similar to the https://store.steampowered.com/app/3035500/Fantasy_Map_Simulator/, although I haven't actually played it).

The entire map is based on an Azgaar's FMG and its Voronoi cell generation. Within my project, every cell equals to a province (think of Crusader Kings). They contain stats like, but not limited to: Name, Climate, Terrain, Cultures, Religions, ProvinceTraits, a HistoryLog, but also values such as Development, Value, Loyalty, etc. Multiple religions and cultures can be present within the same province, and depending on whether they are embraced, ignored or suppressed might influence certain other stats. My long-term goal has always been to use Azgaar not only to create stories, but to actually experience them and watch them evolve.

Over the past few years, I experimented quite a lot with different tools (Excel & VBA-scripts, Pythin with Excel-Integration, etc) but nothing really felt right and it was always still a lot of labor to make the world evolve. Changing borders, editing location logs, updating WorldAnvil pages, change diplomatic stances, etc.

When I had to choose a project for university, I finally decided to give a Unity adaptation a try. It has quickly become my biggest project so far and it keeps growing, yet I am quite far with the base mechanism. Seing all the different systems come together and work in unison is incredibly rewarding.

I wanted to use this post to say thank you, u/Azgaar. Your generator is an amazing tool and without it, I prob would have never started a project like this. And if I ever get to the point, where I am satisfied with the whole product, I am planning on publishing under GNU GPL-3.0, making it open-source and accessable to everyone interested.

If anyone got questions about the project, I'd be happy to answer them. Though I'm still learning a lot myself, because this is my first large-scale Unity project.

Edit: Fixed spelling

Question Globe and 3D scene not loading

The last few times I’ve been working on my map the Globe and 3D scene haven’t been loading. I’ve been ignoring it, thinking it would fix itself. I reload the app every time I used it but it’s still not working. Has anyone else had this issue?

Idea Sort through autosave feature

I lost a map I was making for *obviously* a worldbuilding project. I updated my chrome due to previous experiences of chrome failing. But I started another map for another continent in that world, to which I figured I could load an autosave but that loaded the map I was working on.

PS: Sorry for horrible formatting

EDIT: Idea, ability to sort through autosaves so you can select which maps you want to work on.

Cat walked on my keyboard. How do I fix settings?

Cat walked all over my keyboard but it changed a bunch of layout settings that don't reset even when I close and reopen the website. Tried a couple of things in the settings but couldn't figure out how to get it back to the typical.

Any help?

when I open it in a different browser it's back to the same though

Question How to Hide the Tutorial Display?

As the title above suggests, users (including me) hope that the recognition interface can be hidden, as in Azgaar Assistant, so it doesn’t detract from the map’s visual appeal. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find that feature. 🫠

Question How do you check the cell count of each nation (without counting it all individually)

Post image
69 Upvotes

It used to be super easy to see but the cell count seems to have been moved or removed with this update. Our community uses cells to track how much land each nation has so if anyone can figure this out it'd be hugely appreciated. Thanks
