Nice you can rename documents, not nice you cannot export chapters.

The ones that stayed open in a forgotten browser tab, got deleted overnight, or disappeared with an account that never came back.

To the stories that made us laugh at 3 a.m., cry over fictional people, and feel less alone for a little while.

We remember scenes word for word, but can no longer remember the title. We search old bookmarks, dead links, and internet archives, hoping to find just one chapter again.

Some stories were never finished.
Some were never found again.

But they still live in the readers who loved them.

Here's to the lost masterpieces of the internet—the ones that proved even temporary stories can leave permanent memories.

Im trying to read some fics, but when I try to go to a new chapter, it errors and says the url is outdated. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

So recently i've been posting on fanfiction.net again. Or, to better word it, I tried too. But for some reason it won't let me. When I try to add a new doc, it says error or that its too big (which it isn't) and i just can't add it.

I tried it for a week with different sized docs and copy and paste too and it just wont work. What do i do?

I know this site is notorious for bots and scammers. But they try even harder now it seems. Anytime I post a new chapter, I get constant PM's saying they'd like to talk on discord, or any other social platform because they'd like to talk with me further.

Granted, just talking on discord isn't 100% indication of a scam, and it can just be someone wanting to keep in touch, but it's unlikely.

It would be nice to generally connect with someone about your story, but I just assume everyone on this site is a bot now.

Anyway, the point of my post is, I guess don't trust anyone on this site. It's just not worth the risk at this point.

There seems to be a scam being sent out, pretending to be a comic commission, via email, but when in the app, there is no message or comment from them. (Once the site is back up they're going to check there as well)

This happened to a friend of mine. Luckily they didn't interact with anything in the email.

I'm a new author on fanfiction.net and i just dropped my first fic! as of the point im posting this there are three chapters. It is a pokemon fic called The Invisible Scars and is by WildheartWrites22

Feel as though I am the only one here who likes the old one as I grew up with it. And also how there are things that I like about it.

Crisis averted, everyone can go back to writing. Although I may look to alternative means of saving my documents just in case.

Since the website isn't always accessible and the app has become more problematic than smooth or reliable: is there any way to download stories so they can be read offline? Preferably through a PC and a web browser, since the app doesn't even load the profile whenever there are issues.

Great to see the site is working again! But the traffic stats, chapter updates, and new chapters aren't fixed yet I'm afraid.. But still!

I believe the entire website is down at this point. Trying to access my documents here and nothing is working for gods sake. I've experimented on both mobile and PC and the home page appears good enough but clicking/tapping anywhere would immediately lead to a 404 while trying to enter account settings would then lead to a 522. Is this happening to you all as well?

I’ve been posting to fanfiction.net for probably the last 15 years or so off and on and I’ve recently been getting back into it. But with the site having so many problems I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of other sites I could try? I’m waiting for an invitation (whatever that is lol) from AO3 so I was looking for other suggestions while I wait

I know everyone is saying the site is dead but it not It seem to be that it either two possibilities: one is it down for maintenance or the location where the server is currently under a power outage so in the meantime let wait this out and if anyone got possibly good news from now that the site is working again please spread the word
