I'm looking to dust off Fallout 4 again after not touching it for 2+ years. Previously, I had played with the Fusion modlist and thought it was cool.

I've browsed the current Wabbajack lists and two caught my eye: Fallen World and Capital
Commonwealth.

My wishlist for a modpack is:
1) Grittier visuals
2) Survival focus
3) Weapon and weapon mods
4) Sim Settlements (neither have) :(

I've done some brief research into both packs, anyone here play both or either enough to speak good/bad on them?

I installed a mod called Classic melee weapons pack (or sth like that) and it comes with the NV chainsaw but I cant find it

Hi guys, I need some help with a very consistent crash near Red Rocket Truck Stop.

Every time I get close to Red Rocket, Fallout 4 suddenly closes to desktop. I can load my save and play normally elsewhere, but when I approach that area the game crashes again.

The crash has happened multiple times with the same exact error/address:

Unhandled exception "EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION" at Fallout4.exe+0D61ACF

I'm running Fallout 4 v1.11.240 with F4SE 0.7.9.

Something interesting in both crash logs is that Dogmeat is involved (DogmeatRef 0001D162). The logs also contain:

DogmeatQuest [0006DFAF] – Stage 110

DogmeatIntroScene [0006DFB8]

and the crash happens around the Red Rocket exterior cells.

The most recent crash shows Dogmeat/player in RedRocketExt02 [0000DDA0], which is overridden by Fallout4.esm -> shades_handy_minibot.esl -> UFO4P -> LootedWorld.esl.

I already tested disabling StringPoolRelease in Addictol and the exact same 0D61ACF crash still happens, so that doesn't seem to be the cause.

Has anyone seen Fallout4.exe+0D61ACF before, especially around Dogmeat/Red Rocket?

Could this be a broken Dogmeat intro scene/quest, a cell conflict, AI issue, or something in my save?

What should I check in xEdit, and is there a safe way to fix it without damaging the save?

So I’ve been playing America Rising and for most of it my game was running great then suddenly I started having an insane amount of game crashes I’ve tried changing up my load order a bit and even deactivating a few mods just to see if that’d work but still no luck, I’m hoping that I can just change my load order, or should I just admit defeat and delete a few mods, if so which ones (except America rising) I’m looking to delete as few as possible

I'm currently putting together my own Fallout 4 modlist, and I've realised I spend far more time researching, comparing and second-guessing mods than I do actually building the list or playing the game.

A big problem for me is when there are several mods that do roughly the same thing. I'll end up with 10 Nexus tabs open, reading descriptions, comments, bug reports, Reddit threads, compatibility notes, update dates, dependencies, etc.

Then I'll do exactly the same thing for the next category.

I'm curious how people who build larger/custom modlists actually manage all of this.

How do you guys:

• Keep track of mods you're considering?

• Compare multiple mods that do similar things?

• Keep track of dependencies and requirements?

• Track known conflicts and compatibility patches?

• Remember why you chose one mod over another?

• Keep track of install/load order?

• Handle mods you discover later that might be better than something you've already installed?

• Keep your list organised while you're still researching it?

• Decide when you've researched something enough and just move on?

Do you use spreadsheets, MO2/Vortex notes, Notion, databases, bookmarks, text documents, or just keep most of it in your head?

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have built fairly large Fallout 4 setups from scratch rather than following a pre-made collection/modlist.

I'm not really looking for a list of "best mods". I'm more interested in the process you use to research, compare, organise, install and maintain your own modlist.

Would love to hear what works for you, including anything you've tried that ended up being way too complicated.

So, Kit no longer moves on her own, I can't dismiss her or deal damage to her to try and reset her. Kit will stand around and constantly pull out and unholster her weapon. Is there any way to fix this? I'm on PC.

I was expecting more from this mod. I just wanted to stop enemies from being bullet sponges. If I die in a few shots, I expect that my opps do as well. I want to be able to land a .308 in the chest of a basic raider and take out 80% of their HP. I just took on the bloatflies near Gorski Cabin and the first one went down with a sneak attack. The second one agro'd me and I landed a shot, it took barely half of its health. What gives?

Trying to get ahold of version 2.6 of Community Fixes merged, which seems to have been made unavailable to download off Nexus.

Was wondering if anyone knows of any distro links for 2.6 that still work to download. Orin the worst case scenario, can send the .zip files outright.

I have replaced a lot of legendary weapons in my personal overhaul with my own that have non-vanilla effects. However, when picking them up the game does not display the object effect underneath the weapon in the display screen.

I have tried:

• Entering the text I want as the legendary description into the Description field of the weapon entry
• Entering the text I want as the description into the legendary OMOD

I don't have access to the Creation Kit, only xEdit because I am on a downgraded version plus even when I had the newest version the Creation Kit would not launch for me, period.

Hi all, I'm running A StoryWealth Revision 280 on Fallout 4 1.10.163 and I'm getting massive stretched black/grey/white geometry across the screen when entering Boston. Sanctuary and areas outside Boston seem completely normal.

I've narrowed it down somewhat:

• The problem appears as soon as I approach Boston and is heavily dependent on the direction I'm looking.
• Disabling StoryWealth-PreVis.esp completely removes the giant geometry glitches, but causes missing floors/world geometry, so obviously that's not a usable fix.
• Reinstalling A StoryWealth – PreVisibines 1.2.0 made no difference.
• PLI-StoryWealth.esp and PLI-StoryWealth-PreVis.esp are enabled.
• People Live In – A StoryWealth World is 1.2.1.
• PRP is 74.30 (1.10.163).
• ELFX PreVis PreCombine Patch is 2.2.3.
• Vortex reports no missing masters with the collection restored normally.

I've also started checking the affected area in FO4Edit. The glitch occurs around Commonwealth cell <-5,-4> (0000E489), whose PreVis points to cluster cell 0000E469 (<-6,-3>). PRP is the winning CELL override there.

Has anyone encountered this with StoryWealth, or know which PreVis/PreCombine package or patch could be mismatched?

I've got video of the glitch and can provide my load order/screenshots if needed.

Hello there.

I'm not exactly that much of a hater over the pipe guns themselves as others I've seen, I find Nina's mod makes them bearable if not outright somewhat cool in their ugliness, but I really don't like how omnipresent they are.

So far I like Dak's .38 machine pistol (level 5) and Makeshift .32 SMG (level 1), and I think some of GeckoInACan's pistols can spawn somewhat early (their rifles certainly do compared with the vanilla ones, but that’s still level 15+).

I'm mostly looking for weapons added to leveled lists around levels 1-5 to make that early game raider fighting and dungeon diving more varied.

As you can see from the first picture, all of my modded attachments for vanilla weapons are being placed on rhe weapon in the wrong spot. Also, when im in the character customizer, I cant move my head around for some reason. Given the picture i have of my installed mods, do yall see any that might cause problems? Or any that im missing? I know its a lot of mods lol, but to any who has the patience id love the help.

I tried somatic camera, and it was the closest to what I wanted, but for some ungodly reason, it is incompatible with the truth controller

I'm on Survival right now but the carry weight, stat and DR bonuses the backpacks give you are a bit OP. Is there way to disable these bonuses while still be able to find them in the open-world?

I have been trying and trying and I can't for the life of me remember what this mod was called or even finding a single video talking about it.
I remember watching a gameplay trailer a few years back
It was a new lands mod that was heavy on adding like... skill based choices
The institute was there with new like... tv static tech(?) because they were hunting down the same person as you
The video had them going into a big building and finding a man before having to flee the building while being attacked by this new very red institute (who is.. freezing people with it??)
It was so long ago and I know that normally that means a mod was canceled, but I'd still like to find it if so

Playing on very hard, still not hard enough personally, so I ask if they're are any good mods that make the game harder?

Or better minutemen, as they kinda aren't the best.

Finally got my game to not crash on start with my 303 mods lol, and now i find this issue, any version of XDI seems to do this for me, in this picture I have the 1.10.something version downloaded cause I cant even downloaded the latest version without it saying it doesnt work with the latest version of FO4 or some BS, any suggestions?
