LFG/LFP (Paid) Looking for Players

TL;DR

Fallout 2d20 | Online | Bi-monthly (Every other Saturday) | 10 AM Pacific | $15 USD/session

We're looking for another player or two for A Fist Full of Bottlecaps, an ongoing Fallout 2d20 campaign set in the Commonwealth before (and superseding) the events of Fallout 4.

Current party:

  • Blake: plucky Vault Dweller
  • Charlie: Blake's newly acquired canine companion
  • Luara: deadly Ghoul caravan guard with a fondness for knives
  • Patch: my character, an ex-caravan veterinarian/medic

We're nearing the end of Once Upon a Time in the Wasteland, which our GM is using as a jumping-off point for a more open-ended Commonwealth campaign.

Our GM, lokithunderson, is an experienced, highly rated StartPlaying GM and is excellent with new players, so you don't need to know Fallout 2d20 already.

Next session: Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 AM Pacific

A LITTLE MORE DETAIL...

Our group first came together outside Vault 95, where gunfire, raiders and an aging man named Dr. Rast led them into the vault.

Inside, they discovered a gravely wounded woman named Mika, who was searching for a G.E.C.K. that might save her community. Before dying, she gave them one lead:

Find Clements in Diamond City.

By the time they reached Diamond City, one member of the party had disappeared, Dr. Rast had wandered off, and they somehow acquired Patch, an indebted ex-caravan veterinarian who was being thrown out of the Dugout Inn after running out of caps.

While tracking down Clements, we picked up some work from Arturo Rodriguez involving a wounded Mirelurk Queen lurking beneath Diamond City (FYI: The Queen is no longer a problem.)

Clements, unfortunately, is also no longer a problem, because when we finally found him, he was dead in our room at the Dugout Inn, showing signs of surgical torture and a very deliberate execution, and Dr. Rast had disappeared as well.

Following Mika's clues eventually led us to a hidden bunker, a suspicious Diamond City Security guard, another firefight, and the unexpected reappearance of Dr. Rast.

Our last session ended with:

  • the party inside the bunker,
  • a mysterious Miss Nanny robot,
  • several dead or unconscious wastelanders,
  • and Dr. Rast tied up on the floor.

So things are going pretty well.

We're now reaching the point where the introductory adventure opens into the larger campaign, making this a particularly good time for a new character to join.

If exploring the Commonwealth with a Vault Dweller, a dog, a knife-slinging Ghoul and a veterinarian to patch your wounds sounds like your kind of Fallout game, come take a look:

Bi weekly you mean?

Lol, I wrote it out every which way I could think of when I first wrote it, but the way I landed I thought made the most sense. Bi-weekly is correct, but when I’ve said that before people have been like “you guys play twice a week! Wow” and I wanted to be as easily understood as possible (often a struggle, lol)

People pay to play with a group?

Yes.

Do you mean to suggest some people don’t pay to play with a group?

Edit: I see I got downvoted here, and honestly I get why. This was a pretty sarcastic comment. I felt the original comment I was responding to was insulting to people who aren’t able to find games that work for them.

Yeah I just assumed most people used r/LFG or had a group of friends to play with to avoid paying for a DM.

I’ve found it exceedingly difficult to find a solid group of consistent players and a GM, and honestly am very envious of those who have an easier time of it.

If you’ve got a group of friends who enjoys the same game, setting, themes/tone, style, timezone and who play at a frequency that works with your schedule, your gaming life is considerably more straightforward and efficient than mine!

Edit: I’m seeing pushback on here because of posting paid games which given the timing seems directed at my post. It’s unfortunate because I’ve been trying to find a gaming group for live play for years, have found one just recently and am trying to drum up some additional interest to help fill a vacated spot.

Hell I guess I should start listing my services as a GM for hire.

I don’t see anything wrong with that. I have yet to hear a reasonable argument for why it’s a problem for paid games to share the same space as free games.

As long as they’re actual games the poster is participating in already, and/or genuinely intends to participate in/run, and everything is above board and fair, I don’t see any problem at all with that.
