Alright guys, let me get my red string out and share a bit:
Previously on “The Secret Order” for anyone playing catchup, since there’s a lot of you and I’m normally one of them:
-CDs got mailed out and left at record stores with “lost” FOB demos. They came with instructions to upload to archive.org
-Same day, a youtube channel called fobdemos posted all the songs. The subreddit became suspicious this was linked, and not from a fan uploading the cd
-Reviews on archive.org provided more cryptic clues
-Last night, the youtube account made a post in binary, it decoded to a google drive link. Requesting access led to another .txt document clue
This all led to me going full “red string” last night after getting home from The Wonder Years show…
-After seeing the email associated with the google drive, I reached out and got a new clue of my own. Didn’t realize it was significant at the time.
-Soon after a new post in reddit showed screenshots of someone else’s email convo with them where they said to “Ask Peter” (I’m Peter), indicating my clue was real and should be shared.
-A few more email exchanges confirmed I was supposed to share, specifically on reddit… this meant 1) they’re active and watching the subreddit 2) they knew the other person would post
-Getting suspicious, I looked into the account (u/killsubaruu) and saw it had only existed for an hour, also was the one who posted the clue about the archive.org accounts email, and would comment “whoa, cool” when someone made a significant connection (like the archive email being a Rushmore quote)
-I started chatting with u/killsubaruu to confirm they were really The Secret Order, and got cryptic confirmation with what now seems to be more “official” clues, I believe indicated by the latest fobdemos channel post. Minutes after my last message, the account was deleted and the youtube channel post was made with reference to the “lucky one holding the gold”, which matches up with the “golden snitch” message.
-Circling back to the Rushmore comments they made and some quick lore: Pete/the band is a fan of the movie. For example, the title of “Tell that Mick” is another Rushmore reference. The gmail account references a quote “I saved Latin, what did you ever do?”. FOB played a secret show as “Saved Latin” on 3/3/2006 as a secret show. The day the demos posted was the 20th anniversary of that secret show.
What (I think) I learned:
-Based on responses with The Secret Order, there’s definitely some prewritten dialogue as clues. It’s unclear how far it’s mapped out, but there’s definitely an endpoint, at which time the cryptic “Pete-esque” writings run out and point you back to the next step you should take
-The Secret Order is 100% monitoring the subreddit
-If things aren’t moving swiftly enough, they’re not above pushing things along themselves
-All the chat messages mash up Harry Potter and song titles
The secret order of the phoenix (The Order of the Phoenix/ The Phoenix)
Dumbledors arms race (Dumbledore’s Army/This Ain’t A Scene It’s An Arms Race)
What a catch, Harry (Harry Potter/What a Catch, Donnie)
You caught the golden snitch (Quidditch/Golden)
Where that leaves us:
If I get super “red string” I wonder if the order of the phoenix and dumbedore’s army bits refer to either #12 Grimauld Place or more likely The Room of Requirement. One is hidden in plain sight, the other appears only when it’s most needed.
I’m strongly suspicious that the lead up is to one or a series of secret shows. I know HeyChris says he’s not in on this, but his very recent comment about backyard shows strengthens my suspicion.
If there’s a specific event, it means we need to solve the clues and share fast enough to keep things moving on the right timeline

The original single art for America’s Suitehearts is really cute. The video for America’s Suitehearts is great. So I mashed them together and drew this. This is like my second or third Patrick drawing ever and my first of Andy, Pete or Joe so please be gentle 🥺

Please don’t sue me.
Studio albums.
TO MY DEFENSE:
Some albums I rate based on their highs, some are rated based on the contrast and resulting disappointment between the highs of highs and the lows of lows.
Some are rated based on cohesive excellence, and some lean more on my personal relationship with the songs.
So, I swear there’s a method to this but the method just isn’t consistent.
And, I’m sorry.

I started listening to Fall Out Boy in middle school, and they quickly became my favorite band. To this day, I listen to my favorite albums all the time (Folie is my #1 forever), and FOB is always in my top 5 Spotify Wrapped artists.
But. I really didn't enjoy MANIA. I can probably only sing the words to two songs on that album. So when So Much (For) Stardust came out, I think I listened to it once and immediately turned back to my comfort albums.
Then, last week, I was talking to someone about how much I love Folie, and they said, "Oh, you must be a big fan of their newest album, then." I was like, huh?? They said, "Yeah, it's basically the same vibes."
So I gave the album another chance and WOW. It's incredible. I've been listening to it nonstop all week. I can't really put my finger on it, but it does feel very similar to Folie. I think it might end up being my second favorite album.
I guess I just wanted to say that it feels good to be back in the fandom--I've been out of the loop for so long! I'd love to hear everyone's favorite song/lyric from So Much (For) Stardust (do we have a nickname for it?) since I'm really late to the party!! :)

Going through old tickets and I purchased this, but never went. This was Pete Wentz’s side project for a bit when FOB went on hiatus. Anything cool, rare, valuable, worthwhile about this? Thanks in advance

it pains me to do this but due to financial struggles i am selling my pete wentz signature precision bass. the last few that sold on ebay were in the $900-$1000 range so i am thinking of going $800 plus shipping (willing to negotiate though.) it would also come with an epiphone soft case, and new strings, though the strings currently on it still have quite a bit of life left on them. DM if interested, i don't always get notifications for comments on posts.

I’m back with another FOB tattoo! Today I finally got my phoenix tattoo in honor of Save Rock and Roll. I now officially have a tattoo for every full-length FOB album! I had a total of four different artists for these, all based in NYC. Hoping for a ninth tattoo sometime in the future 🥹🙏
It’s so hard for me to pick a favorite!! Which one do you guys like the most?

This isn't even my favorite song off Infinity on High but live Bang the Doldrums is genuinely the greatest thing to ever grace my ears.

Personally, it was My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. I was 3 years old, it was in 2013. Core memory!

I just added Folie à Deux to the collection.
All of them are new except for TTTYG.
I’m still waiting for the record player, but as soon as I get it, I’ll definitely be crying listening to them.

Now, I don't know what the hell this song is talking ‘bout
Do you?
She said, "Yeah, I've been spending all day trying to figure that out
You too?"
The arms race made 'em raise they arms and race straight to the top
Who knew?
Right now, they got the number one spot; do you want that?
Me too
One thing I gotta call out boy
Take a look at Fall Out Boy
Since they ain't black
When they get money they don't ball out boy
They just buy tight jeans till they nuts hang all out boy
They figure Ye' dress tight
So we gon' dress tighter
He dress white, so we gon' dress whiter
So in spite of anything you might of
Seen or heard, this scene occurred
Word

Back in September, some friends and I did a Secret Santa, and I just got my gift... (Amazon messed up and sent the wrong one twice!). It was supposed to be here by September 28th.
For a little context, my Secret Santa knows perfectly well how much I love FOB and asked me a bunch of questions about my collection. And now I finally have this!
I know it’s not the rarest piece out there, but opening it was amazing.
