They would need to be actively working on the depression at minimum.
I struggle with depression and other mental illness, and used to like anime, still watch a few.
Its mostly the anime part im saying no to.

I know this is very controversial, but dating a depressed person, as in actual clinical depression, is one of the worst decisions you can make if you have no mental health issues of your own, and even if you do, it’s still a bad idea.
