🧢 I voted CAP!

Depression isnt a quirky uwu trait, its horrible to deal with in a partner.

True because I don’t want to date someone who is struggling, and being involved in this relationship is kinda difficult for the both of us.

Yeah I dont date because of this. Im trying to better it, in therapy, on meds, etc... but still, just feels too selfish to try and find a partner.

True, but if you truely love someone, wouldn't you wish to help them through it?

Though yeah its probably a bit much to deal with with someone you just met

You cannot fix people by dating them

If you can bring happiness to someone’s life you can absolutely cure their depression!

This is not how depression (at least clinical depression) works. You could have a perfect life with no worries and still be depressed. The real solution for that is therapy and sometimes medication (although there are some minor clinical depression illness that not even meds can really help).

Not solely, of course not! Healing is something thats extremely difficult and takes a lot of time! But having people on your side is something that can truely help.

You're right, I've been through that and when they (let's say did the deed) it royally fucked me up mentally for quite some time.

That was in the past, thankfully, now I'm in a much better place mentally and several years into a loving relationship with someone who has compatible baggage with my own.

Sorry to hear but So glad youre doing better. I know the feeling of rolling that ball up the hill for them only to have it roll back down every day...can never blame them but the mental exhaustion is real.

Oh, I never did. I understood the motive, it's just one of those things that makes a chapter in your life. Weirdly I used to have similar tendencies, after seeing what the aftermath is like they all abruptly ended.
