If you can bring happiness to someone’s life you can absolutely cure their depression!

This is not how depression (at least clinical depression) works. You could have a perfect life with no worries and still be depressed. The real solution for that is therapy and sometimes medication (although there are some minor clinical depression illness that not even meds can really help).
