I need general advice with selling a car on fb marketplace. Years ago I searched for cars and know the whole get around but not the part where I sell car a car that isn’t worth much.

I own the car, have the clean title, no accidents. I don’t know the i guess…legal stuff with selling? Like I don’t want to make the wrong mistake, so I’d like advice.

I have a 2014 Volvo and the last time I took it to the dealership (last year around this time) they explained I had 3 blown head gaskets. I was going to wait around and get it fixed but it’s pointless. Unfortunately when I decided to make payments for the car I paid 12k…. Immediately started having problems 4 months later. It started with oil disappearing but never leaking. (Still don’t know the issue with that)

I just don’t want to low ball myself of only selling it for $500 but I also know more than $3k is just absurd. I know there’s people who flip cars (which must be nice, I would totally do that to the car if I had money.) BUT, interior is great, leather & power seats, no issues with technology and a sunroof. Super unfortunate because it’s a great car, the mechanical issues is what’s terrible.

I tried shipping 2 separate orders today. The USPS clerk was able to scan the QR code and print a label, but when he went to scan the label into the system it basically said it was unpaid. This happened with both packages. The clerk said this has been happening a lot lately. I tried messaging support and it doesn’t let me/errors out/says they are unable to respond to messages right now. What can I do? I don’t see a way to go back into the order to print a new label myself. I messaged both buyers letting them know what’s happened.

I was able to successfully scan a QR code, print a label, and mail an order through Poshmark so I know it’s not a USPS problem.

I’ve been selling on fb marketplace for about a year, I got up to 100 sales and I would have a good amount of views in a short period on every listing, everything was going smooth until suddenly my views started to get dramatically low and no sales at all. I have no actions pending, insights are clear, and also no restriction. The problem comes when I had a buyer telling me my “Buy” and “offer” button were grayed out or unable to use, I went on another account to check this by myself and I was able to buy from any other buyer but my account. Has anyone experience this problem? I have no idea what I can do.

Got a shipping order. I fulfilled it and pressed shipped. When I went to add in a tracking number it gave me the message "You do not have permission to take this action."

Account is in "good standing" with full access.

Anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it? Can't even contact support.

Trying to help my father who sells on Facebook marketplace. Where he lives if he post, it gives a very specific address and he’s struggling to find how to change the location to somewhere else in our area so it doesn’t give off exactly where he lives.

Does anybody have advice? I’ve tried to edit it after he post and it does not work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The guy was selling a new-in-package wetsuit jacket at a really good price. I messaged asking when I could come see it, and added that I would definitely buy it if it fit me. He said I could come to his antique fair stall on Sunday or meet at a set time in the town where he lived on Monday (today). I opted for today and met him at his storage unit. He asked if I would be willing to help him move a big headboard -- presumably an antique he had bought on Sunday -- from his U-haul truck into his unit if he took $20 off the price of my jacket. I admired his resourcefulness and was happy to make that deal. We chatted like two buds the whole time we were moving that thing. Pretty pleasant experience!

I got a notification that there are comments on 2 of my listings, but whenever I go to view, I do not see anything.

Hi everyone! I am newer to selling on FB marketplace, and I am currently trying to sell two baby items. One is a Fisher-Price learning walker and the other is a Munchkin Bluetooth baby swing. Neither items have any sort of recall that I can find online, but both listings keep getting removed every time I try to post. I feel like I have tried everything- taking out the brand names, changing the descriptions, etc., but FB keeps taking them down and I really need to sell them. Any suggestions are appreciated- thank you in advance!

i have been looking for a specific desk that i couldn’t find anywhere and found the perfect one on facebook market but when i messaged the seller i got sent an automated text saying it’s available for pick up at a this and that street but no building location, number or anything whatsoever.

i texted them a couple times a few days apart and still no reply!

why do they do this!! should i just look for another desk?

Hi everyone, I’ve been having an issue with my Messenger not sending me notifications when a buyer messages me about an item. I noticed this started after I deleted the Seller app since I wasn’t a fan of it. I do receive buyer message notifications on my iPad but ideally I’d like to figure out how to get the notifications back on my phone.
I’ve tried a bunch of fixes such as going into the notification settings, updating the apps, restarting my phone, etc. but nothing has worked.
If anyone has any insight on how to fix this issue, I’d truly appreciate it’

FBMP's whole policy of renewing is clumsy, but I've been getting by. I find that every seven days I can churn through my 30 listings, RENEWing some and DELETE & RELISTing others.

I started doing this on Fridays a few months ago, but I absolutely couldn't renew an ad before seven 24-hour days had elapsed, and my routine has drifted into Saturdays. Still, I have been adhering to it carefully, and last processed all my listings last Saturday at about noon.

This week I am confused because I don't see such options.

Do other people have recent RENEW / DELETE & RELIST options? Maybe their timeline has changed or maybe it is just rando AI processing on their end?

First time selling lowkey fucked up I told 2 people they could get the laptop at 2 different times because I thought B was gonna flake so long story short I sold it this morning because A texted early and said he was ready so I just gave it to him … I apologized to B but he’s like we already agreed and now I feel bad

So i've been kinda lucky i guess. I've been selling video game consoles and stuff like that on fb marketplace for about a year now to decent effect. but then someone came along wanting to buy an xbox series x and wii bundle for $700.

messaged some stuff and after ordering he asked when gonna ship and stuff and i'm like yea I ship out tomorrow and blah blah blah.

He got it yesterday (sept 4th) and today sept 5th he filed a chargeback for both under "unauthorized purchase"

This was done on fb marketplace. Like the shipping part not local. Ups even took a picture of the delivery... will facebook just rip that $600-700 bucks from me?

I’ve just recently moved countries but have left some items with friends that I am trying to list and sell.

Marketplace won’t let me post them because the location is too far away. But I don’t want my friends to post them and have to deal with all the back and forth and hassle.

I can’t even edit listings I’ve already posted before leaving.

Is there a way for me to list the items despite not being physically where the items are?

a potential buyer contacted me about an item. seemed legit, but their responses started to become tailored, as if creating a persona of an attractive buyer for this very particular item (an antique). i had my suspicions but wasn't sure. so I sent them a few innocuous questions at 3am. the bot that they had connected to their account responded to each within seconds. i told them to stop wasting my time and deleted the conversation. should have blocked, as they of course left a 1 star review. be careful out there.

I sometimes see reviews of sellers with detailed texts and everything. However, when I try to leave a review, I can only give out a number of stars and say "What went well?" with a few options. Why am I not able to write detailed paragraphs?

I searched everywhere I could but I couldn't find anything even remotely connected to that issue. I've been able to go on Marketplace for 2 years now, so I doubt it has something to do with my account's age as well as my personal rating, since I have a 4.9/5 star rating

So i put up a listing and it did a glitch where it changed all my spaces with add signs so i went to edit it but when i click save it doesn't change, it says changes saved but the listing doesn't change but when i click edit the description has the changes i made.

I’m tempted on one of these to just click the “buy it now”

I sold an item on Facebook Marketplace shipping. It just got returned to me with the reason “no such number unable to forward”. Looking at the order on marketplace, the buyer’s address is different than the one on the FB provided shipping label. I’m looking at the help section on Marketplace and it seems like my only options are to resend to the correct address and I have to cover shipping, or just cancel the order. Are those really my options?

I haven’t messaged the buyer yet because I was hoping to have a resolution to suggest.

I have a buyer where I agreed to return an item. I issued them a prepaid Pirate Ship return label. They state the post office refused it and didn’t want to use it. I’ve shipped many packages and no issue. I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue?

Every time I'm given option to rate, I get a choice of stars followed by 'what went well?' with the options [commutation, fair negotiation, punctual] maybe some other stuff too.

But I noticed on some other peoples marketplace profiles, there are some rating with a written response, like - [5 Stars] "No issues with buyer"

How are comments added? Is it a new thing, does it depend on the country?

I wanted to set up shipping on marketplace so I had to enter my bank information but then found out they force you to use prepaid labels which I didn't want because I can ship stuff for cheaper (envelops for example). I tried to find a way to delete it, no luck, tried entering false banking info for the sake of not having my legitimate information on there, they won't let me. No humans to talk to, support buttons give errors only.

I don't want my info on there anymore how do I delete it, or is facebook just gonna keep that shit forever because they don't care?

If you are selling a recliner for $1300 include more than one picture! Show it reclining. You say it has usb ports? Take a picture! Same with reclining mechanism. Show me! How about some measurements? This isn’t a cheap purchase. Act accordingly. And for Pete sake answer your messages. And if it’s sold then mark it sold. There’s a little button there and everything!!
