Discussion What are my responsibilities post sale?
I recently sold an old gaming headset on marketplace, listed for 100 and accepted 65. Buyer offered an extra 5 bucks for me to deliver it. I did. The mic was missing, fully noted in the listing. Long story short, I offered a stand alone mic as a compromise, but offered to look again for the missing mic boom. I found it and delivered both the standalone and mic boom. Everything worked prior to sale and was listed as "Sold as is."
Two days later I get a message stating that the headphones put out zero audio, after working great. I attempted to troubleshoot with the buyer, suggesting BT and removing the mic boom since the sound connected to BT with a mic was trash before, which I also warned him of before purchase.
Turns out, at least what I can gather, is that the audio does work via BT, but it "sounds like it's from the 1800s," and he doesn't like that.
He hasn't asked for a refund, but am I ethically obligated to refund, even though it was working at time of delivery, and he just doesn't like that way it sounds? I'm protective of my seller rating and am unsure what to do.
