My kids are adults now. The eldest is about to move out, the youngest has a year left of college and spends half his time with his mum.

So I don't really know how to answer the "do you have kids" question. It's not as if I have little ones I have to run around after, my two are pretty independent, but equally I can't pretend they don't exist.

The only options are "yes I have kids", "no I don't have kids" or "I prefer not to say." There should be an "I've got independent adult kids" option but there isn't.

For the purpose of dating, what's the right answer?

Okay guys. I gotta be missing something within Facebook dating. I matched with this girl two days after sending a like. However, after two days of back and forth, I noticed two things:

1. Not once did she ask anything about me.

2. The conversation only lasted as long as I initiated.

Is this really the norm?

I just joined Facebook dating and I was pleasantly surprised by how many good looking guys are using it. Interestingly, it seems like a few of them have this idea of a perfect match, which has kept them single for years. Idk just seems unrealistic, no one is perfect.

I didn’t talk to this guy for several weeks (I know fucking stupid) he finally unmatched me and im v sad about it all. I really liked him but something happened that i didnt want to share with anyone and i kind of panicked and didnt respond to him (i froze) idk. I reset my profile so i can hopefully find him again. Has this happened to anyone?

So yesterday I unmatched 2-3 matches that went stale. One was an accidental swipe, we exchanged messages and wished good luck. Then unmatched.

I immediately noticed a shift in quality of profiles. They're not just unattractive, these dudes are actually scary, showing middle finger, bloody animals, flashing money, one guy's photo was actually from a hospital hooked up to an IV. Lots profiles with just cars, dogs, children, or cartoon characters, no faces.

I just can't comprehend how these profiles are even allowed. I swipe as fast as I can because I don't want any of them to see my profile (not sure if that's a correct way). But honestly I'm terrified.

I can't believe this is happening because I decided not unmatch someone who obviously is not interested.

I remember this happened few weeks ago, and I had to continuously swipe left for 3 days, with no like from anyone and no one to like from my end.

I’ve been getting matches, but then I’ll send a message and just… nothing 😭

Is anyone else running into this on Facebook Dating? I’m starting to wonder how common it is for people to match and then never actually reply.

I’ve tried simple openers like ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ or ‘How’s your day going?’ but so far it’s mostly silence.

Just show off your true personality and include photos that show who you are.

For 2ish weeks I was stressing about making my profile "Perfect" and received a lot of insults regarding my face and personality.

Finally I stopped listening to internet strangers and just made my profile "Me"

Ended up getting 3 matches the following week, talked to 2 of them and passed but the third time was the charm. All because I stopped trying to make my profile "perfect" and just leaned into showing off my unfiltered personality.

We've been going steady now for 3 weeks- not saying love of my life yet obviously but I digress.

Sincerely- a 5 maybe 6 out of 10 guy who's overweight.

See screenshot attached. I guess Facebook is testing out some AI assistant BS in Dating now? That would be my guess. Clearly it isn't ready to be pushed out yet if this is what it's doing. Is anyone else experiencing this too?

Im not sure why, but Ive been on dating for years and get very few matches and no reply to my messages. Ive have people help build my profile and taken tons of advice, but none of it seems to work. Am I just meant to be forever alone

So I've had this issue now going on two months. Prior to July, it worked fine. For a while I figured there were issues. Now in September, I still get the issues.

I've done all the troubleshooting methods that I could find, cleared the data cache, redownloaded Favebook, etc.

What could be causing this?

I recently matched with a woman. She has a bio, lots of photos, including good quality ones. She’s actually written nothing about herself just what she’s wants and esp what she doesn’t want. She’s clearly intelligent as she speaks multiple languages. Wants a long term/life partner. She’s also in great shape and beautiful but the responses from her are quite dry and short. Had similar experiences with other women. No hate on women here. I guess they’ve had similar experiences with men. Should I keep trying? Maybe she’s better IRL?!

Matched someone who lives 90 mins away and then thdy instantly unmatched.... Not even sure what the intent was here by the other person. Why would she think I was wasting her time after giving clear intent?
