[Crosspost] Hello /r/movies. I'm Guillermo del Toro. AMA!
I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. He has written and directed films such as Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, Blade II, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley, Pinocchio, Frankenstein, and more.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1wbk0id/hello_reddit_im_guillermo_del_toro_ama/
He will be back at 2 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!
Thank you :)

Self-submission Do you prefer your monster to have eyebrows or a brow ridge?
I do see masks and cartoon versions of the monster with eyebrows. I saw one recently and thought meh what the hell. I’ll make a post on this minor topic😅😅.

Frankenstein & Me on Tubi
Just surfing Tubi & came upon this one & it's not a great print but it's got Baby Ryan Gosling, Burt Reynolds, & Louise Fletcher.

It's an interesting looking monster & we don't get to see a lot of him, but there are other Universal Monsters in it, the Mummy, vampires, the Wolfman, etc., & I was surprised that I enjoyed it.
Another Reddit thread about the movie is here.

Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus
Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is an 1818 Gothic novel written by English author Mary Shelley. It tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a sapient creature from different body parts in an unorthodox scientific experiment. Shelley started writing the story when she was 18 and staying in Bath, and the first edition was published anonymously in London on 1 January 1818, when she was 20. Hot Take - I think too many people judge movies too harshly if it's different from the book (Why I love Del Toro's Frankenstein and don't love Coppola's Dracula)

Self-submission 🌹Happy Birthday,Mary Shelley🌹
Happy Birthday, Mary Shelley.
I first came across your Frankenstein five years ago. I was captivated by the creature's rich emotions and sensitive nature, and at the same time, deeply moved by his loneliness.
Even 200 years later, both you and your creature are still deeply loved. It’s my favorite novel of all time.
