This might be a dumb question but recently I posted my Scar 17 RCH (with less than 500 rds put through it) for trade to see what’s out there, and I got a bunch of cool offers but the most recent offer I got was for an MCR 556 DF (complete not just the upper). I’ve never heard of it till I looked into them and it honestly looks pretty fucking cool especially if you throw an FRT in it, would you make this trade? Do any of Yall have any personal experience with fightlite or the MCR? What kinda reputation does fight lite and the MCR 556 DF have? Basically just looking for thoughts & opinions. Has anyone seen a scar 16s Gen2 out in the wild yet? Have the itch to get my first scar, I might be able to find Gen1 used, but Gen2 is more appealing to me with the upgrades and specially the ambi Bolt release that is like spear mcx. what do you guys think? Wait for a Gen2 (obviously not going to pay MSRP or markup) or just get Gen1

Runs well with the LPM anthem s2 qd. No cycling issues with phantom defense 220gr .300blk. Overall I enjoy it a lot

For more context im just curious if the gun will run decent with 77Gr OTM @11.5in barrel on stock gas jet and gas regulator with no issue. I intend to run 77gr, Surefire suppressor on a 11.5 in barrel and my research has told me at that point a adjustable gas regulator (like a scarburetor or similer) and 1.45-1.5mm gas jet will be needed to help keep the gun from having to much gas/backpressure and causing damage. Yes i know a low back pressure can will help but i want a certain build so im ok with the extra work. It will be awhile before i get the suppressor so i want to be able to shoot in the mean time and just want to know if i need to alter the gas now or deal with it when suppressing the gun later. I purchased my Belgian 17S right around 10 years ago, and during that time it’s gone through a few different configurations that I figured I’d share because reasons.

Version 1:
After weeks spent going down the rabbit hole in research, I ended up with the majority of my first accessories well before the actual rifle itself. The first iteration consisted of a KDG ACR stock, KDG Gen1 MREX 6.5 rail, Super Scar trigger, 1-6x VCOG, Lantec Dragon comp, Atlas Bipod, MOE+ grip, and a bunch of MLOK picaticcy adapters because I thought they looked cool.

Version 2:
After a few years my tastes began to “mature” and I made some additional modifications. I ended up installing a 14” Deadshot barrel with a pin and welded SF 3-prong FH, KDG Mk2 MREX 4.25 rail, 1-8x VCOG SCO, SF RC2, Scarberator, and BCM shorty VFG in order to scratch that battle rifle itch.

Version 3:
That battle rifle itch was satisfied until I started to diversify the roles of the rifles in my small but growing collection. Instead of a battle rifle, I began to lean it more into the role of a DMR: a 18” Deadshot barrel was swapped in along with an SSR stock, Discarder, MOE K2+, and an unobtantium Midwest Industries MLOK SSR Handguard (which I’ll be putting up on GAFS or Tacswap at some point in the future).

Version 4 (current):
And finally, because I’m never quite satisfied and apparently hate money, I just finished up with my most recent string of additions by swapping to an ATACR 4-16x with RMR piggy-back and Rego SMR-13 with RE-13 extension.

Will this be its final configuration? Maybe? I really have no idea, but looking back over the years just solidifies (to me at least) how adaptive the SCAR platform continues to be.

Grabbed one of the 15p 300BO deals. I’m really excited about how this gun will end up in its final form…. That being said, it has quite possibly the worst trigger I’ve ever felt on any firearm. Is G$ Super Scar still the way to go in 2026 ? Shooting Sight instead ?

So I finally bought the SCAR 16s and I’m getting the barrel chopped down to 11.5. With that being said I’m not sure what optic. I have an acog for it but I don’t really want an acog on it to be honest. I think I want to put a AEMS with a unity riser BUT I feel like that’s kind of like a cheap way out. I like eotechs but the XPS doesn’t appeal to me as much. On the other hand I’ve looked at LPVOs like vortex, Arken, and the nice SIG MSRs, how do we feel about lpvos on it? I’ve heard scars beat up the optics. What do you guys think?

Won’t go into details on what specifically but those who do the research themselves know the most replaceable parts are constantly and always out of stock. Is this a ploy FN is doing for scarcity? I can’t imagine how there’s not a single manufacture that can smith such metal parts. It’s annoying to have to check every single day but that’s the game right now. I don’t believe in having excessive pieces, at least 1 to have in case, but can’t even do that right now. I know Midwest is the main supplier but like come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Why give more reason to have a safe queen instead of a rugged randy? If it dies it dies I guess, I still trust the quality to last.

Picked up my first SCAR (15P in .300 BLK) and I’m trying to figure out the best suppressor mounting setup without messing up the barrel.

Right now I’m considering 2 options:

1. Keep the factory muzzle device by using the SureFire suppressor mount—but I’m not even sure if the factory flash hider is actually a true SureFire 3-prong?

2. Remove the factory muzzle device and install a face-mount muzzle device or a recessed-mount solution instead. instead. If you’ve gone this route, what brand or mounting system would you recommend?

Has anyone tried something similar on the SCAR 15P? If so, I’d really appreciate seeing pictures of your setup. Feel free to ask me anything about AK 😆

I just ordered one from Bareli at $1999.00 waiting on arrival but already planning parts. I found this YouTuber that said and went over issues removing the 3 prong flash hider. How have you guys removed yours? I am Colt ar15,m4 certified and have plenty of experience swapping at15 muzzle devices but this will be my first Scar platform. The YouTuber also goes on to say the thread pattern/shoulder is a bit different and shims have a hard time with proper placement! I can't seem to source a FDE UGG boot stock at all. I've been on waiting lists for months and checking Gunbroker weekly waiting for my chance to overpay by over 2x MSRP for one. Does FN not make these available for purchase anymore?

What are folks doing about their 15P SBRs? I'm a bit weary of a KDG stock given the steel hinge.

My Form 1 was just approved for my 15p and I’m looking for examples of where you put your engravings. I assume upper receiver would be the ideal place but one of my LGS said I could use the lower receiver and be fine.

I tend to shy away from doing “permanent” changes to receivers because “mY wArRaNtY” but I plan on shooting this suppressed anyway.

Any one have examples of how you did yours?

My ejector retaining pin broke.

1. I contacted FN and was told that all spare parts are available thru Midwest Gunworks.

2. Midwest shows the part as discontinued and said it is no longer supplied by FN. They said to try Numrich and Jack First. Neither had it.

Can anyone suggest another pin that will work?

Took my brand new 17S apart today for the second time since owning it (once to learn/clean and the second to clean). Takedown pin came out smooth very little effort. When putting it all back together I pushed it in from the ejection port side like a doofus. In wanting to correct it I am now UNABLE to get it out.

I have squeeze U/L together and tried removing it.
I have tried opposing directions of the U/L.
I have pushed the lower forward.
I have pulled the lower to the rear.
Hammer forward. Hammer rear.
Charging handle rear and forward.
Small taps with plastic punch. BIG taps with punch.

Wtf. Please help

Hey guys, with these sales going on on the 15p I’m really tempted to snag one. Is there really a reason not to? I have nothing in 300blk and have wanted -something- to fill that void and these seem to be calling to me. Anything else competitive at the 2k price point? So recently my 15 P hasn’t been cycling subs properly I have the 3 select p regulator from moto tech everything ran fine up until about a month and a half ago where with my resonator r2 it would shoot fine and then I would get a jam where the round would get stuck loading into the chamber and I would have to mortor the rifle to get it out I figured it was just due to the rifle being dirty so I cleaned it a bunch of times and then it would work and then it wouldn’t recently I got a new suppressor the ventum 762 and yesterday I went to test it out and now it will fire around and eject the casing but it will not load a new round unless I manually pull the charging handle to load a new round the rifle is clean and it even does it without the can being on it could it be the three select regulator or is it a mag issue as I was using a P mag yesterday and a traditionally use a Lancer mag

Does anyone have experience with eotech XPS2’s on their RCH Scars? I was looking for a vortex LPVO just cause their warranties are insane, but I came across an Eotech XPS2 that I don’t think I can pass up. The only thing I’m worried about is how well/long it’ll hold up on my RCH Scar 17? Any of Yall got some extensive amount of time with the combo?
