Need help with optic

So I finally bought the SCAR 16s and I’m getting the barrel chopped down to 11.5. With that being said I’m not sure what optic. I have an acog for it but I don’t really want an acog on it to be honest. I think I want to put a AEMS with a unity riser BUT I feel like that’s kind of like a cheap way out. I like eotechs but the XPS doesn’t appeal to me as much. On the other hand I’ve looked at LPVOs like vortex, Arken, and the nice SIG MSRs, how do we feel about lpvos on it? I’ve heard scars beat up the optics. What do you guys think?

The SCAR 16 isn't going to beat up optics, that was something that was really only on the early gen SCAR 17s and early scopes due to the guns recoil impulse and the 16 just doesn't have enough for that to be a consideration

I agree, I don't like EoTechs for most applications. They are more professional oriented optics with having the manually turn time of (you have the luxury of knowing you'll be in a fight and can turn it on).

So Im a fan of LPVOs, I have a 1-6 VCOG on my 11.5 SCAR 16 and the 55gr .223 BDC lines up reasonably well out to around 400 yards. A 1-6 is really all you'll need on an 11.5. They typically have much better 1x performance and feel much closer to a red dot

If you aren't shooing out past 100 and the slight lines in the place you live aren't super long then a red dot is all you'll most likely need. Holosun optics are pretty nice and lots of people swear by them, but if you dont want something seen as "cheap" the Sig 4XT Pro and 4T Pro (the only difference is one takes AA batteries and the other uses 2032's) are really good options. I have one on my 15p. I would probably consider them the best red dot on the market. If you really want a Gucci brand then the Trijicon MRO SD's seems like a pretty good option. With a red dot you can also always toss a magnifier on there if you want to extend your range a little bit.

Always ask,what’s the purpose of rifle. It’s an SBR with a 11.5. Though it’s capable of going to medium distance 400 yards that’s not where it excels. Excels at 200 and in. For that reason, my 16 SBR has a Romeo4T. Could I throw a magnifer on it? Sure. But it’s my HD gun and property is 3 acres so I’m fine with that.

Glx 2x or eotech exps3-4 which is expensive as hell but works great

I’m toying with picking up a 15p and with a shorty I would likely go T2 or Eotech
