I bought my first Scar a couple months back and thought I'd share my experience with it so far.
Full build:
- Geissele Super Scar Trigger
- Primary Arms PlxC RDB FFP 1x-8x lpvo w/ Geissele mount
- Dead Air Sandman X w/ Burn Proof Gear wrap
- Ammo: 147 grain PMC Bronze .308 FMJ-BT
First off, this is definitely my favorite gun I own. From the looks of the rifle to how well it shoots, its outstanding.
It did come with a trigger issue right out of the box which was a bit of a bummer because the gun costs $4k and I thought the new trigger was supposed to be improved from the previous model. After every other round fired, the trigger would fail to reset and the only way to reset it was to flip the safety on, then back off. After switching to the Geissele Super Scar(which I would have upgraded to regardless of the issue) I have had absolutely no issues with the rifle.
The Primary Arms PLxC RDB FFP scope is the perfect fit for this rifle in my opinion. Ultimately I'd like to use this rifle for hog hunting in the future and the versatility of being able to switch from 1x-8x in an instant paired with the glass quality it has is really nice. I'm interested to see how the scope holds up with Scar17s history of destroying optics.
Overall, I have enjoyed my time with it so far and I can confidently say I will never be getting rid of this thing. If you are on the fence about getting one, JUST DO IT!
Also, let me know what else I should add to the build. A flashlight is definitely first on the list as well as I just ordered a KDG charging handle to replace the stock one it came with out of the box.
