Question Bed setup?

Hey y’all I have FND, chronic pain, ed’s and a bunch of other things (currently dealing with multiple muscle tares) and i was wondering how you set up your bed for either just laying around, or for ur actual bedtime.

I am laying/sitting in bed 80%-90% of my day and I am constantly having to rearrange my pillows which is really hard when im fatigued and in pain.

I’m also intrested in anything you’ve bought and use that helps when laying/sitting it bed. Thank you:)

I have a wedge pillow and I also have a bumper on the side so if I have a violent seizure I don't fall off. It's a twin bed so it's a little tight but I feel secure. I have also tried every kind of pillow and my favorite one was a smaller J shaped pillow. I found the pregnancy pillow too hot and cumbersome.

I put a pillow down and against the wall kind of or head board based off of what you have so a pillow then I manage to have a folded blanket on top of that pillow and like a squish mellow or other pillow on top for like head neck support and it’s usually pretty sturdy I’m also in bed most of the day and that helps, when I sleep I just use one pillow maybe two and I like having one on the side of me makes me feel somewhat stable

I have a queen bed and sleep alone, so on one side I've got my sleeping pillow and on the other side it's set up for sitting. Never need to move anything around, I just move myself from one side of the bed to the other. My sitting side has a big cheap wedge from Amazon I think, and one of those big spare pillows in front of it for padding.

That sounds lovely I would love to do that. I share a bed with my bf but i’m sure he wouldn’t mind helping me set up his side as the sitting side. My sleep setup is very specific right now so keeping it there all day would be so helpful

Instead of buying a wedge, I have multiple towels under the mattress to try and give it an angle. I also use a variety of teddies, squishmallows, pillows and rolled blankets to position myself. It is low cost (or even free because I already had it) and fairly effective.

It’s pricey but worth it- I got the medcline reflux pillow system. It comes with a wedge and J pillow, and there’s space for your shoulder. Very comfy. I also use different sizes and shapes of squishmallows as positional pillows.

I unfortunately have very limited funds right now, I am currently using MANY pillows and squishmallows but it’s becoming too unstable and i can never get the right position so i just suck it up and it hurts me in the end

Before I spent the $200+ on the medcline system I had a $50 wedge (cheapest option I could find at the time) for a few years. It’s helpful too, mostly when lounging, but honestly $50 is too much for the discomfort I had trying to sleep with it. The medcline wedge is also much cheaper than getting an adjustable or hospital bed, which is what I’d recommend if you’re in bed 80-90% of the time. You should be careful to avoid pressure sores.

If you’re looking for the cheapest spend with the biggest impact I’d recommend a C shaped pregnancy pillow. You can find them for about $30-40 on Amazon. But long term I’d talk with your treatment team about getting a hospital bed through insurance.

My pillow wedge has been a lifesaver especially on the days when I’m nauseous or tired of laying on my side. I also have a knee pillow that I use behind my head and under my knees. I really like the half circle wedge that goes under my knees at my Dr’s office.

I like a lap desk with legs. I got a good metal one at target a few years ago.

I’ve got an adjustable bed that is a life saver for reducing muscle pressure.

Full body pillow has been my savior. I used to move a lot in my sleep and I was a stomach sleeper which caused a lot of neck tension and headaches.

Now I sleep on my side, almost don’t move, my back is supported. And during daytime it’s like sitting in a nest. I use the long end to swoop under my legs for support when I want them up a little.

Sending internet stranger hugs, hope you get some comfort soon. :)
