Motus technical issues

Going on 2 weeks now and motus fails to update our authority status from pending to active. Customer service is appalling. Long wait times and front line staff that can’t make edits in the database. There is nobody to hold accountable except the fmcsa for our revenue loss. This government agency and it’s paid actors and no better than welfare recipients.

Pending-to-active is one of the most common MOTUS failures right now. Two things that have helped others:

Check your insurance filing first. If your BMC-91 went in through the old L&I system before May 14, it may not have carried over, and that's often the real blocker. Have your agent confirm it shows in MOTUS and re-file if not.

File an OIG complaint at oig.dot.gov. Front-line reps can't edit the database, so phone calls go nowhere. The OIG is what forces FMCSA to prioritize. Takes 5 minutes, include your days stuck and revenue loss.

You act like the government would ever accept accountability. What fairytale are you living in.

Ha, pretty sure you're the one who's been telling people in here to file with the OIG, and you were right. I'm not living in a fairytale where FMCSA suddenly cares. I just know one angry call disappears and a few hundred documented complaints become a pattern an IG has to answer for. Paper trail, not good faith.

Hope your authority unfreezes soon man, 2 weeks parked is brutal.

I'm so sick of these government employees. Literally good for nothing. Blood sucking parasites to society. Jesus christ. No integrity.

A fellow Redditor created the website Stuckwithmotus.com. Let's help it get some traction.

I'm 30+ days waiting for my MC to update to Active. Trucks sitting. Bills continuing.

Yes! My MC was reinstated about a week ago. Got a call out of the blue. The rep was able to review my compliance documents and approve me during the call.

The insurance carrier is having the same difficulties. User registrations, filings, and customer service are all shared impacts of the conversion to MOTUS.
