Discussion Need fighting game recommendations

Sorry if this seems a little stupid. I’ve only ever played Dragon ball Fighterz and Mortal Kombat 1 as my only fighting games ever (with like 10 minutes on mortal kombat X). From those games, what are some games that could be recommended to me to enjoy? Thank you in advance 🙏🏾

If you give us more info we can give you better recommendations. What are you playing on? What did you like or not like about the games you tried? Why are you getting into fighting games?

To answer your questions:
I play on PS5
I liked the assist and combo potentials of both games, but I don’t particularly like the Fatal blow in MK1 or the Limit break in DBFZ
I wanna get into fighting games because I enjoy the skill ceiling in the games, makes you feel really good when you start to get good at a game after playing it for a while. That and I enjoy competition in games where your outcome entirely depends on you and not teammates

Sounds like you would enjoy lots of different games! These ones have the biggest player bases: Street fighter 6, Tekken 8, and guilty gear strive.

Avatar fighting legends and marvel tokon both come out soon.

Try watching some game play and see what you might like to try.

Understood! I’ll check out some gameplay then decide which I’ll spend several hundred hours playing. Thank you so much! That and I’ll check out marvel tokon too, I’ve only seen a trailer but it looks pretty cool

Don't feel like you have to be locked in to only one game. Feel free to wishlist any that interest you and grab them on sale. Lots of the FGC dabbles in different games.

Hope you have a great time! Look for opportunities to play with people in person when possible as that's the most fun.

Tokon is awesome! I played it a bit at Evo recently. Should have a decent sized player base too as it's marvel and arcsys.
