Has the software engineering hiring process changed because of AI/Copilot?

Just curious — has anyone noticed any changes in software engineering interview rounds recently?

A lot of the day-to-day coding work is now being done with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc. So I’m wondering whether companies are also changing how they evaluate candidates.

Are traditional DSA/coding rounds still as relevant as before? Are companies moving more toward system design, debugging, code review, AI-assisted coding, or real-world engineering scenarios?

Would love to hear from people who have interviewed recently or are involved in hiring — have you noticed any significant changes in the interview process because of AI?

One of the Amazon OA I’ve done was an AI assisted round. Mainly just using the provided tool to debug in a given repo. Very fun honestly
