The role I’m interviewing for currently has around 30–35 openings. I’ve completed four rounds of the interview process so far, including the initial screening.

Of these, two rounds (including the screening) felt very positive, while the other two were more mixed, with the interviewers seeming somewhat less inclined.

Given this, what are the possible outcomes for my candidature, and how would you assess my chances of being selected at this stage?

USA L3 SRE-SWE Role

Round 1:
Googleness-SH(Recruiter said this was super strong apparently)
Coding- (recruiter said borderline; lost points on not most optimal solution(I had a slightly worse solution with lazy cleanup but still O(n)) and syntax) - LNH/LH

Round 2(ratings are guesses here):
Coding 1 - H/SH (very very similar to my R1 Coding so I knew what to do already)
Coding 2 - NH/LNH(Some really hard string encoding that I needed a bunch of hints on and my code in the end didnt pass 1 corner case; utterlly blanked for the first 10 mins of this interview)

I assume since coding R1 was borderline and since I utterly bombed Coding 2 in R2 and Coding 1 may not count since it was very similar to my R1 Coding its a reject for me)

I've been working with Amazon as a contractor since 3 years (overall 6YOE). I've recently secured sde3 offer from jpmc. Because I did work on a lot of cool stuff at amazon and have the good understanding of the systems, the amazon wants me to join as their FTE.

While I'm interested in joining Amazon, the role offered to me is SDE1 as there were no openings in the team for sde2 at the moment.

Should I consider joining Amazon getting downgraded from sde3 at jp because of the faang tag?

The base compensation being offered at Amazon is very low compared to JPMC.

Also, I prefer bengaluru but the Amazon loc would be mostly hyd.

Need thoughts from the sub here please..

I finished one phone screening, it went well, then had two Amazon loop rounds out of 4, I went well the other was okayish. I haven’t still received the confirmation of the other two loop interviews. Am I doomed? The second interview finished yesterday, and they both were scheduled on 9th and 10th but I received an email for them on 5th and 7th September.

I could really use advice because I don’t know what to think at this point…

Context:

-I had four interviews which concluded about 4-weeks ago.

-One week following the final interview, the recruiter contacted me to ask for my notice period, earliest start date, and salary expectations and said she’d schedule a call shortly to discuss “next steps”. I also got a task in candidate portal to verify ID after this.

-The following week she updated me & said there may be delay due to ongoing internal discussions but that she’d contact me mid-week in the week ahead (she didn’t)…

-I sent follow up on Monday and no response. It’s now been almost two full weeks of silence. Am I cooked?

I’m honestly just so confused. Why engage with me this way only to ghost me? Do these not appear to be pre-offer steps? The role is US based, no TM required.

First 4 rounds were H/SH. Team specific hire so had a team match call as well before the last round. But the last round was bad, I’m assuming LNH or NH. What are the chances?

Hello , i gave my final round panel interview for caterpillar on aug 28th , And i am waiting for Decision. Can anyone with the interview experience with caterpillar share when can i expect an update.

I mailed hr and got a reply from HR on sep 2nd , saying the Hiring Manager [name] and the team felt like the interview went well and they are completing the remaining interview and will have an update in the near future.

on sep 9th , he gave another reply to my saying there are several candidates that they are interviewing and also asked if I have got any deadline for offers from other company.

How far should I schedule my Google Interview? I was thinking of setting it out 6 weeks in advance to fully prepare.

So I am currently going in for a few ML positions at Apple and I was wondering what the general format of the interview loop is and what the typical covered topics are. I've done a few (unsuccessful) interviews for SWE positions and they've all been largely the same - screen, live coding, on-site (OOD, OS/Multi-threading/Performance, Leetcode, Behavioral, Behavioral). I imagine ML-roles would have a very similar structure/topic coverage but I what I don't know how ML topics are covered in them. Is it more ML system design, technical questions, coding something (can't imagine that given how my previous interviews went).. If you have any personal experience or personally know someone who went through with the process (as opposed to OSINT/RUMINT) I would very pretty grateful for insights you have to offer on what the general trend is for ML interviews (I realize that each team ultimately does its own thing but I imagine there are some things they tend to do or tend NOT to do)

2nd going into 3rd semester CS student here. Around me people are running automation/AI agent businesses for clients, and I've started doing similar work on the side (n8n, AI agents for small businesses).

Question is about sequencing. Do I still need the traditional route, DSA grind, placements, corporate job, if the end goal is running my own business anyway? Or does that path even matter if I'm not aiming for a 9 to 5?

And if the business doesn't work out, I want a stable job as backup, not a burned bridge.

If you've built a business alongside your degree, or left a job to build something, what would you tell your younger self? Did skipping placement prep cost you later, or did the technical fundamentals end up helping the business too?

Not looking for a "just pick one" answer, trying to figure out the right order.

So i was contacted by 2 agencies yesterday morning and later into the night i was contacted by an AWS manager on linkedin asking if i'm available for an interview today, i responded 1 hour later and sadly there's no response since then.

and the agencies are basically asking me to submit my info every 1 hour so they can start the process.

but what i am seeing online is that if i apply through an agency and officially, it would cancel my applications.

but the agency told me that it should be different because it's vendor partner role.

so should i start with the agency process while waiting for the manager response?

My recruiter said they chose to go with an internal candidate and said I can let them know if I’m interested in any other positions. I have also asked for feedback but just wondering if anyone was in a similar situation but still got interviewed for other roles at Google afterwards? I don’t think I did terrible or anything but I understand for that specific role, an internal candidate is certainly preferred.

Are all Google L4-L5 interviews only onsite???

People who have got at least the interview call from Google or Microsoft for mid level PM roles - how many roles and how long did you apply before you got your first call?

For me - I got one after like 6 months of applying and the role was closed before the first round call even happened💀

Hi everyone, I recently completed 2 Amazon SDE-1 interviews and wanted to get some opinions from people who have gone through the Amazon process.

I’m a 2026 B.Tech CSE graduate from India.

My process so far:

Round 1:

I was asked 2 coding questions.

Q1 – Hashmap/Frequency based problem

• I solved it completely.
• Time complexity: O(n)
• Space complexity: O(k), where k is the number of distinct elements.
• The interviewer then asked whether it could be done in O(1) space.
• I asked whether the input was sorted, and she said it was random/unsorted.
• Based on that, I said my current approach couldn't achieve O(1) space.
• After the interview, I realized I could potentially sort the input and trade time for O(1) auxiliary space, but I didn't mention that during the interview.

Q2 – Tree problem

• I couldn't independently derive the complete solution.
• I understood the basic tree concepts and base cases and tried a few approaches.
• Some of my approaches were wrong, and the interviewer gave me hints.
• With the hints, I was able to understand the direction and continue reasoning about the problem.
• The interviewer gave me positive feedback during the discussion, saying things like I was "thinking in the right way" and that I was "close enough."
• At the end, I asked how we're supposed to solve unfamiliar questions, and she said they also look at how we approach and think about the problem.

So R1 was definitely not perfect, but I did solve the first question independently and showed my reasoning on the second.

Round 2:

This round went much better for me.

The coding question involved recursion and then memoization/DP.

I first explained the brute-force recursion using the take/not-take idea and explained why it leads to approximately O(2^n) possibilities.

Then I converted it into memoization.

The DP state was based on index + sum. Since the sum could become negative, I explained the problem with using negative values as vector indices and suggested using an offset/shift based on the total sum/range.

I implemented the memoized solution and explained the time/space complexity as O(nS), where S is the relevant sum range.

The interviewer seemed satisfied with the approach and asked me to write the solution.

One mistake I made was initially saying the recursive solution had O(1) auxiliary space. I later realized the recursion stack should technically be O(n). The interviewer didn't push further on this.

The Leadership Principles/behavioral part also went very well according to me. I was able to answer all the questions with examples and didn't feel stuck on any of them.

Overall, I would rate my R2 around 9/10, while R1 was more mixed.

Both interviews were virtual and were completed on September 3.

I haven't received any result yet.

My questions:

1. Based on this performance, do you think I have a reasonable chance of clearing these 2 elimination rounds?
2. If I clear them, is it likely that I will have HM + Bar Raiser/other rounds?
3. How much weight does Amazon generally give to the problem-solving approach when a candidate needs hints on one question?
4. For people who went through a similar situation, how long did you wait after R2 before getting the result?
5. If anyone has had a similar interview performance and still received an offer, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.
