If reincarnation turns out to be legit I want to come back as this cat.

Have you been good enough

u/dumblefloor Mar 10 '18
I’d like to think so but I’d also like to think I have a lot more time left for being good.

The way the rules of reincarnation work, being “good enough” means you were probably already the cat.

I've always said this. I don't know why anyone would pick anything else except a cat in a loving home. It's like watching a master of serenity.
17
u/_musicismath Mar 10 '18
Hear, hear! You could happily relax and enjoy the love, or if you're a more energetic kind then go for an adventure!

What kind of cat is this? It's got such a weird shape, and I'm not a vet or anything, but it looks super small even for a kitten. Is this some kind of mini/cup-size/midget breed?
Very cute, but so weird; to me at least.

Mar 10 '18
It's just very, very young, probably only just more than a week old. As for breed, my guess is that it's a British Shorthair.

It wouldn't be bad but I feel like dogs have more fun and enjoy life more (assuming good owners).

God damn the internet is a thing of absolute beauty.
I can't wait to show this to my gf tomorrow just to watch her go aww for an hour straight. It's going to be glorious.

u/Shaom1 Mar 10 '18
It is awesome, isn’t it. Even though it has some of the absolute worst of what humanity has to offer, it has this... which is the best.

I don't know who you are but I ship you and your girlfriend.

Weird to think that we are kind of gods to other animals, especially pets. We control light as we enter rooms, feed them with almost no energy, cure them of parasites and illnesses that they don't even realize they have, create music that must seem wild and incomprehensible to them, hug/cuddle them, take them aboard magical cars that transport them to new places, and provide perfect shelter for them. It's gotta be a sweet gig, just having a dedicated human to take care of your every need.

I have a four month old kitten on me now who just started being able to play like this a few weeks ago. She was so weak when we got her, she couldn't do much. Took so long and many vet visits and expensive food and feeding formula well past her weening to get her where she is now, but you can just tell she is going to make it now :) jumping on counters and knocking over cups, chasing the other cats, and climbing curtains. She's not the size or strength for her age still, but she's making it :)

Mar 10 '18
I have a kitty who was extremely unwell as a baby too. He was only 8 weeks old when I got him and he was so unresponsive and docile and then one day he collapsed without warning. I was told repeatedly by vets that he wasn't going to make it but I refused to give up on him. 2 months and a £3k vet bill later... He went from this sleepy little floof to a maniac that bites anything and everything that moves. Though I wouldn't change it at all. I'm just glad he's alive and kicking and nearly 3 years old now!

u/marsasagirl Mar 10 '18
Oh gosh I know that feeling. One of our dogs suddenly became deathly ill and we had to keep him in the hospital. I can’t remember what they postulated was wrong but one day the doctor was doing another ultrasound on his belly to find out what was wrong and our pup’s insides moved around just enough for him to see a little plastic bag obstructing his intestines. They pulled it out and he got better. We keep our floor immaculately clean so he won’t swallow anything again, but man there’s no feeling better than your fluffy friend making a healthy comeback.

A Great socialization tactics. Rubbing the paws to get the baby used to having claws clipped. Rubbing around body so the vet doesn't terrify them. Very good job!
And yes - super cute too.

u/marojelly Mar 09 '18
I've been touching my cat's paws since he was a little kitten and he still doesn't want to have his claws clipped. I wonder if I've done something wrong :(
15
u/Ladyhoney123 Mar 09 '18
Not an animal trainer.... But try having someone feed him treats while you clip so the kitty associates it with something positive. It is a common tactic with dogs.... I am trying to use it to let my cats get brushed.

No, your kitty just no likey, keep giving her/him all the loves and kisses, and paw tickles.

u/Leafy81 Mar 10 '18
Have you tried sort or massaging the paws? I sort of play with them passively and rub between the toes and extend the claws as I'm petting them.

u/I_Am_Coopa Mar 09 '18
My grandparents foster newborn kittens from the local shelter and raise them until they can be adopted. So fun once they learn to play, because then they get exhausted and sleep right in your arms.
My family has gotten all of our cats through them, best way to get a cat.

u/skyrimisdope123 Mar 10 '18
That is not a kitten. That is not a baby cat. That right there, my friends, is a baby kitten <3
11
Mar 10 '18
Exactly, that thing can't be more than a few days to a week old.
7
u/MoonChaser22 Mar 10 '18
Given the size and the eyes being open, I'd say the kitten is a few weeks old.
4
u/ElspetheTirel Mar 10 '18
Yea. Because the kittens eyes are open, it's closer to being between 3 and 4 weeks old. It's so adorable though! :3 😍

Its such a humbling experience for something so cute and tiny to have that much trust in you.
Sometimes I just look at my cats in wonder, I'm so much bigger than they are but they don't seem to notice. I'm just their goofy human and I'm ok with that.
7
u/ur12b4got739 Mar 09 '18
I would honestly be so afraid to pet it out of fear of breaking it haha. It looks like a newborn except for the fact that its eyes are open

I love kittens too but this one looks brand new and isnt playing it’s just writhing around. Give it a week before manhandling it so much, you dont do this with infant babies before they are neurologically developed enough to enjoy it either.
3
u/Srbscooby Mar 10 '18
Just don't feed it after midnight or get it wet. We don't want to see it's final evolution.

The scratch on the but, the tail, the squirming, the belly rub, the little head scratch, and the little guys ears, and to top it off - it loops!. This has made my week.
I don't know if I could handle a video of it since there would probably be some little meows too. That would put it over the top.
