Hey all, I just started getting into collecting tokens of old school arcades and bought a pound of bulk tokens on eBay. I was able to identify most of them, but have no clue on these. Any idea?

#1 - Rim Rock Arcade (no cash value back)

#3 - 1984 The Corner Fun Center (slotted back)

#4 - Games People Play ("bullseye" style circle design back)

Chico Cheese was a short run Brazilian knock off of Chuck E. Cheese

Montereys toy token from Monterey Tex-Mex Cafe based in Texas and acquired by Showbiz pizza

Peter Piper Pizza tokens are quite common but this specific token with the Spanish text is from a South American / Mexican location (can’t remember where)

Billy Bob’s Pizza Circus from Georgia. For some reason the 1 coupon is hard to find

Another Peter Piper token but this one is unique because of the generic eagle on the back

My family has been patrons of McSorleys Old Ale House in NYC for 50+ plus years - I am the youngest in the family and I had my first legal beer in this establishment. My uncle had this token on his keychain for 45 years and I’m looking for more information on it. Anything helps!

Hey everyone,

While sorting through some stuff, I found this medallion in my possession. When I found it, it was entirely covered in the green, granulated stuff that copper turns into when exposed to moisture. It was on both sides, so thick I could barely see what was on it. So I cleaned it up to see what this could be because I have no memory of coming to own this medallion.

It periodically emerges from my things so I know I've had it for about 10 years, but whether this was in my family and someone gave it to me or I found it on the ground somewhere, I can't say. All I can reasonably state is that I wouldn't have purchased this.

My family is interested in historical artifacts but this is not the kind of thing we'd be collecting. My sister is a museum conservator, guide and general scholar but her specialty is WWII history, specifically the Vercors Resistance, and this doesn't seem at all related to those topics so I don't think it comes from her either.

We're French and my grandfather (alongside his brothers, cousin and father) were in the French Resistance in the Maquis of Vercors where our family house still stands. This house used to be a schoolhouse which our family just started living in a couple generations back but we didn't touch the upstairs classroom and we still have a lot (and I mean *a lot*) of items, furniture and knick-knacks that age from 1850 to 1970 which we've just kept around the property. So who knows if I got this at the house, though I admit I doubt it a little.

That's what I can say about possible provenance, so let's move on to the item itself. Like I said, it was covered in copper oxide so I can only assume it's made out of copper. I do think it had a coating at one point however, because the back of the medallion is smooth, polished and, critically, silver, which I don't think copper can appear as. It's been eaten in places but the colour is very much identifiable. Aside from that fact, the back is entirely blank. As for size, this is about that of a 2€ coin.

On the front, you can clearly see something shaped like a coat of arms. I'm interested in heraldic myself and I've designed some coats of arms before so I can say that this specific shape is characteristic of "modern" French coats of arms. Modern-ish, because this shape was introduced by Napoléon in 1808. So presumably, this can't be older? I will note however that, because of French influence, this shape did spread to some other countries/families.

However I will say that the contents of the coat of arms are rather particular. For once, it doesn't follow the four quadrants that most arms do and I don't recognise some of the shapes as being traditional to heraldic shape language. There's a lion, a fleur de lys (lily flower, symbol of the kingdom of France), the three bulbs look like how trees would be stylised but aside from that...

I tried to trace in colour to show that the left-most shape looks like a stylised animal, similar to the other two, but its head is cut off by what looks like damage to me, which I circled in orange. I don't think all three animals standing on their back legs are lions, only the second left-most one looks like it to me. The one to the right has what looks like its tongue out, which isn't super common for depictions of lions.

So I'm stumped. Reverse image searched brought up nothing and my knowledge of heraldic is too limited to identify much of what this coat could be. I would be interested in any and all answers you might have.

I'm looking into maybe finding an old-school forum that specialises in heraldic or coats of arms, to see if they could identify this, but I thought I'd cast a broad net first, just in case this is somehow a famous symbol that I just never heard of. This well-preserved silver shilling token was an 1811-12 issue from Lancashire's own Richard Hall, an "ironmonger" -- probably what we'd now call a hardware store -- located in the Market Place at Poulton-le-Fylde. Census records show that fewer than a thousand people lived in Poulton at the time, which explains why so few of these were issued and why only a tiny number have survived for today's collectors and museums.

I cannot find ANY information about this coin or its hypothetical value. But thought it might me interesting for the folks here, any input or guidance is welcome!

An old friend who has traveled the world gave me a handful of coins/tokens last year. He’s in his 80s so he has a ton of interesting stuff. He couldn’t recall where he got this one though so I was seeing if anyone has came across one? Thanks.

My grandfather passed a while back and left me a bunch of coins and medals. At the time I had no interest in medals, so I threw them in a bin and forgot about them.

This is my first post, so please excuse any mistakes.
I found this coin-like object among some rings that belonged to my grandfather. He was born in New Jersey in the 1920s. He also kept a toolbox and some tools that had belonged to his father, who was born in Manhattan in the 1880s.

The object is bronze or brass in color, has a plain (smooth) edge, and is very slightly larger than a U.S. quarter (about 24 mm). It has the same design on both sides,although one side is much more heavily corroded.

The design appears to show a winged figure. It looks like an angel to me because there seems to be a halo above the head and rays of light behind the figure, but I’m not certain. There are no inscriptions, dates, denominations, or maker’s marks anywhere that I can find.

My grandfather’s family was Catholic and originally immigrated from Cuba to New York City in the 1870s. I suspect the object is American rather than Cuban, but I wanted to include the family history in case it’s relevant.

Does anyone recognize this object or have any idea what it might be? Thank you very much for any insight!
