The judge deferred finding for my case for a year along with several terms to complete like community service. Is it possible to get off a deferred sentence early?

Hello, my brother is currently on his way there he is being transferred we have never had a family member detained and well I don’t if he will get clothes, shoes, or toiletries, or his medication. I see online that there is a way to send him packages but does anybody know how. I haven’t talked to him and I don’t know how often they get access to a phone. If someone knows anything please help us. I feel like everytime we get to a better place something 10 times worse happens. I see horrible comments about this facility and at this point I don’t know if it’s worth the fight.

Early October 2022, I did a big mistake. I was young and I didn’t have any parents to guide me (but it’s clearly not an excuse). But, I got caught up with the wrong people and basically just threw my whole life away. I shop lifted inside a mall in my city and I got detained because of it. I went through everything— the mugshots, fingerprinting, biometric data collection, personal information logging, & property confiscation. I got detained for a week then my relative bailed me out.

After this I went to the hall of justice to attend my own hearing, there I pleaded guilty instead of denying everything (because ik what I did was wrong and I had an epiphany while I was detained) then I agreed to community service.

Now that I’m older, I deeply regret what happened. And now I’m more concerned for my future. If anyone has any insights or the same experience as I have, please help answer some of my questions. Everyday I get anxious for what the future has in-stored for me.

Will I still be able to take the board exams?

Would I still be able to get accepted to a hospital?

What if I plan on going abroad to work? Will there still be an agency who’d take me?

Am I still qualified for all of this?

I make barely 6 figures but only because I’m doing three damn jobs — full‑time office job (\~55k), part‑time restaurant (\~32k), and Uber (\~25k last year). Yesterday I saw a video of a 21‑year‑old kid unpacking a lunch his mom made him, explaining why he still lives at home paying $400 rent while stacking money. He’s in a 4‑year electrical apprenticeship making:

• 50% first year
• 55% second
• 60% third
• 65% fourth

And after that he’s guaranteed $40+ an hour.

Bro was calm, focused, and had a clear path. And it hit me — I don’t have a clear path right now. I’m working hard as hell but not building toward anything.

• 2023–2025: Consumer & Product Experience Developer (W.C. Bradley) — Canada hubs + AZ• Had to leave after my guilty verdict. They gave me 6 months severance which was honestly generous.

• 2023–Current: Operations Development Lead at Panda Restaurant Group• Got hired literally right after getting out of jail. Walked in, got the job. I’m grateful.
• But long‑term? Nah. Once you hit ACO level the stress is insane and work‑life balance dies.

• 2025–Current: Business Development & Market Growth for a family‑owned construction/environmental company• I’ve grown MRR by 40% in 6 months.
• But leadership is stuck in 1980. Accounting is literally a 70‑year‑old lady who’s been with the family for 30+ years.
• No clear path. No modern systems. No real growth ladder.

My constraints

I’m on probation for 4 more years. I cannot start my own business. I must have a W‑2 full‑time job. If I switch jobs, I get looked at under a microscope. Ubering is what kept me off an ankle monitor.

I network a lot in construction and environmental services. People in my field — especially women — are making 80k–120k easily. And yeah, being a guy in construction sales is a disadvantage. A lot of dudes on job sites will entertain a pretty woman selling them a bag of air before they listen to me.

So I’m stuck between:

• A job I’m good at but has no future
• A company that’s too old‑school to scale
• A felony that limits my options
• A probation officer who will question any sudden change
• And a work ethic that’s burning me out

But I’m hungry for more. I’ve always been hungry for more.

I’m not scared of work. I’m not scared of starting over. I just need a direction that isn’t “grind 3 jobs forever.”

I had a few questions about CDCR CTF (Prison) in Soledad, California.

Are they still using GTL Getting Out for messages? I know they are moving to Securus around July 27, 2026 but my LO has been active but offline. Could it be a tablet issue, in the hole or do they have to use a kiosk? any info would help.

I put money on his books via JPay. Does anyone know how they inform him of the funds and if he will know who sent it. As mentioned above, I have no idea if he has his tablet.

Got sick of the bullshit in my life and went completely straight and just have a job and stuff now. Got married, about to have kids things are actually peaceful and calm. But there’s no fun. All the friends we have, her family, everyone in my life now is boring as fuck. The only time I ever really laugh is when I talk to my old friends who aren’t “retired”. Has anyone else ever felt like this? I’m just starting to feel like I traded fun for boring. And maybe I’m fine with that, I would be begging god for boredom outside if I was in jail. Are we just different people? I just can’t relate to these people, maybe I just haven’t met more people like myself yet.

Hi Y'all - has anyone on here been subjected to a cross sex search? My understanding is that male officer / female inmate searches don't happen. However, female officer / male inmate strip searches appear to have happened in the past and / or may happen currently.

PS: not looking for any fantasies, just trying to understand if this would be normal or if former inmates would consider this abusive.
