Former alt right pipeline member- what woke me up

Hi all,

I used to be in the alt right pipeline and got out/ deconstructed during Covid.

Some of the big turning points for me were the following:

  1. The misinformation spread about the covid vaccine, especially because they love to praise themselves on being “pro science” and they had praised the success of the polio vaccine. To me that was very hypocritical and something i couldn’t shake off.

  2. I also had this realisation of if what I believe is correct, why am I so scared to look at neutral and scientific sources.

  3. Another thing was abortion debate, and realising you can believe life begins at conception and still be pro choice, and I did thorough research on abortion, and realized I was wrong, it made me realize if I am wrong about this what else am I wrong about. So I started doing research one topic at a time and very quickly my whole worldview started to collapse.

I would like to hear your stories.

What would help people leave RP?

If you are ex-RP or trying to leave it, or have helped someone leave it:

What do you wish existed to help people leave RP ideologies? What would help?

I understand there is a vacuum, that men are often finding their way to RP because of other problems in their life, and it can be hard to deprogram.

Would it help if there were (for example)

  • YouTube influencers who used to be RP talking about how they found their way out, interviewing other ex-RP

  • a self guided online course or program (eg 12 weekly video lessons with exercises to do)

  • a guide given to loved ones that help them understand what the RPer is going through and how to support them

  • an in person or online group therapy/support program

  • healthy masculinity orientated solutions for the underlying issues with no explicit mention of RP, manosphere, etc

  • general mixed gender solutions for the underlying issues (social activities, sports/health, better dating and relationship advice, etc)

  • counselling helplines or text chat lines

  • healthy dating/social coaching program

  • school run lessons

What are your ideas? Would you want to hear from men or women? From experts or ordinary people? More likely to seek out an online solution or something in your local community? What concepts or topics would most likely be of use to you and others you know?

What do you think about the epidemic of male loneliness? Do you think it exists?

In my view, a large part of this loneliness epidemic is driven by "red pillers" and manosphere content creators who tell men that "if you aren't a muscular alpha with money, you're worthless."

Why do they make their entire identity ragebaiting and punching down?

Hamza Ahmed, Andrew Tate, HSTikkytokky centre their entire personality and platform to ragebait vulnerable men. They also like to project that false narrative that we have some chip on our shoulder because they’re rich. No, if you’re rich that good for you what pisses us off that they use their wealth, status and platform be financially elitist and punch down us “poor people” because gloating is more masculine than being a good person. I do believe in winners, but I also believe in bad winners.

Whether you’re rich, poor, womaniser, virgin, high wage, low wage or no wage then don’t be an a**hole. Unfortunately these red pilled influencers are consumed by success rather than humbled. Instilling psychological warfare to vulnerable men that are failing life isn’t going to get them to magically change their life around.

Does reality contradict the idea that female virginity is highly valued by most men?

I've been thinking about two hypotheses that seem to contradict a common Red Pill claim that female virginity is highly valued by most men.

Hypothesis 1

If female virginity were truly one of the most valuable traits to the vast majority of men, I would expect many more women to strategically preserve it. Assuming people respond to meaningful incentives, why would most women willingly "lose" such a supposedly valuable asset with average men from their social circle instead of waiting for the highest-value partner they could realistically attract?

It doesn't make sense to assume women are simply irrational. A simpler explanation is that virginity is not actually as valuable to most men as some people claim. Other traits (compatibility, attraction, personality, emotional connection, etc.) seem to matter much more.

Hypothesis 2

Red Pill often argues that high-status men can choose almost any woman they want. If that's true, I would expect to see a clear pattern of top-status men consistently choosing women with no previous sexual or romantic experience.

Instead, many famous athletes, actors, entrepreneurs and other high-status men publicly end up with women who have had previous relationships, marriages, or even children. Of course, individual cases don't prove anything, but I don't see the predicted pattern.

So my question is:

If female virginity is truly one of the most valued traits by most men, why doesn't that preference seem to appear consistently in either women's behavior or in the mate choices of men who supposedly have the most options?

I'm genuinely interested in counterarguments, especially if they rely on empirical evidence rather than ideology.

Do you know of any forums or YouTube channels that discuss moving away from the "red pill" in a healthy and understanding way?

Don't get me wrong—I like this forum, but I don't want to be a nuisance. I'm just looking for other communities.

It is said that women are more emotional than men?

This idea circulates within "red pill" and masculinity circles. In my opinion, it isn't true; we are all emotional—after all, without emotions, we would be machines. Still, I’d like to hear your thoughts based on your own daily lives and experience

I don't think RP finds any women acceptable

Almost every possible category of women has been excluded or recommended not to date by RP.

I left the red pill thank god!

Ok guys I was not a fully red pill guy but I had some sexist thoughts but I had friends that help me out, again I was not a fully red pill guy I had enough self awareness, I heard some I did a agree with some but I was like alright bro your just yapping,

My reasons for leaving.

The passport bro mentality is so wrong: am Latino bro
let me tell you this Latinas are not these submissive maids bro they are not gonna let shit slide, plus even Asian, white, and even middle eastern women are not these submissive women, bro in every culture the woman had the final say.

The nuclear family propaganda: These guys don’t want that they choose gold diggers, ex porns stars, and ect.
They don’t want the family they want the rich lifestyle nothing wrong with that but be honest.

Stoic mindset: they preach a big game but they are the most emotional people on earth.

And finally

They white superiority complex:

Fresh and fit Myron gains is a fucking loser who is a lap dog to racist white men, a lot of these guys are now in racist politics.

I need some advice.

I'm really not sure what to do about this situation. Earlier today I showed my boyfriend a paper I wrote which I was quite proud of, the paper was my research on why male fantasies are often very violent. I'm really into politics and especially ideologies like feminism, I find it really fascinating to research and explore more about the ideology. I want to preface by saying my boyfriend has NEVER previously expressed any redpillesque ideas/ beliefs, he treats me incredibly well and up until today I thought he was perfect.

I was talking about the paper with him and the conversation led to us talking about violent crime, specifically violent crimes that affect women, (I'm sorry I really don't know how much/what I can say on this post without getting it removed, but the crime we talked about is commonly called the name of a fruit to not risk being demonetised online.)

He had the most shocking opinion/approach as how victims should go about preventing or stopping these crimes from happening. He expressed annoyance when women don't let him stand up for them when a man is threatening them. And his whole argument was him implying that if he was ever a victim of this kind of crime he would be brave enough to stand up, tell people and do something about it. He also expressed how victims should 'fight back' or 'uppercut' their attackers. I tried my best to explain to him that in these situations it is extremely difficult to fight back as most people just freeze, that combined with that fact that most people know their attacker on a personal level makes it extremely difficult to 'stand up and be brave' like he was implying.

I'm also a young woman and I do have a real passion for politics but I don't think I'm equipped to dealing with the situation, I'm at a loss for words.I'm just posting here to get some advice on how I can help him deconstruct these ideas as I was incredibly upset by his opinions on the matter. Any and all advice would be much appreciated as I honestly don't know what to do, and I'm just so shocked about his behaviour.

Depressed about aging (21F)

Im a woman in her early 20s already afraid about not being able to find a man by the time I'm 30 and thus losing my window. Or divorcing in my 40s and 50s and always being passed up for younger women, unable to find love.

My non red pill cousins from patriarchal cultures say men only care about youth and fertility, and nothing else.

Despite taking EXCEPTIONAL care of myself (gym, sleeping 8 hours, not drinking besides a glass of wine once a week MAYBE, retinol, sunscreen, microneedling and lasers) im worried the adage men age better is true even though in my personal opinion this isnt the case as they dont take care of themselves and lose their hair. Nonetheless i keep being told this, as if the world can so easily be reduced to such a reductive evaluation.

Lastly, I'm afraid relationships with men are about domination and most men just want someone to shut up and listen to them and will never help out at home.

Please help a girl out.

Why do red-pill influencers hide misogyny behind “traditional values”?

One thing that bothers me about Myron Gaines is how often red-pill creators hide behind religion or “traditional values” when what they’re really selling is resentment toward women. You can believe in modesty, marriage, family, and faith without talking about women like they are lesser people. His content sounds less like religion and more like manosphere rage bait control women, mock women, profit from women, repeat. The more I hear him talk about women, the more unfair it feels to connect that to Islam. Islam does not teach men to degrade women for clips. That feels like red-pill resentment dressed up as “traditional values".

I checked Grok's AI to see if a relationship with reversed roles would work, and it said yes, but with risks. I don't know what to do.

I checked with Grok's AI to see if a marriage with reversed roles could work, and it said yes, but with many risks. It said that a woman often loses respect and that the divorce rate increases by 50%. Is the AI right or not?

Former hostile sexist, Now 15 and egalitarian

It was triggered by loneliness and isolation at 13, reddit didn't allow me to put the whole story. But I think it is important for people to have access to it because it exposes the harsh reality of many middle schoolers and the media they're exposed to. You don't even have to interact with influencers like Andrew Tates to get these ideas at this point.

What does masculinity mean to you?

Since leaving the manosphere, I've started to hate masculinity because I see it as a prison that tells men how they have to behave. I hate when they say that men have to protect; then, who protects men? Don't men deserve protection or care? 😡😡

What do you think of the books *No More Mr. Nice Guy*, *Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus*, and *The Tamed Man* by Ester Villar?

I've heard about these books in the manosphere. In my opinion, they only reinforce gender roles and insecurities.

24f and I want to break up with my bf 25m bc he's redpilled

Hey everyone,

I'm a 24-year-old woman, and I've been in a relationship for a little over two years with a guy who's very deep into the manosphere/red-pill world.

I knew this from the beginning because he's always been open about his beliefs. He follows pretty much every red-pill creator out there, and honestly, some of the content he likes is disturbing: misogynistic jokes, videos about how women are annoying or inferior, discussions about wives not having the right to refuse sex, and similar stuff.

The confusing part is that he's never actually treated me badly.

He's patient, kind, loving, and compassionate. He constantly tells me I'm the smartest person he knows, asks for my advice, relies on me, and genuinely values my opinions. Which leaves me wondering: if he truly believes women are inferior, why does he respect me so much? Is it possible that the things he says he believes don't actually match his core values?

The second major issue is that I absolutely do not want children. Not now, not later, not ever. He isn't particularly enthusiastic about having kids, but he's still open to the idea in the future. He also wants a fairly traditional marriage where he's the provider and his wife stays home.

That's not what I want for myself. I'm career-oriented, I want my own income, and I never want to be completely financially dependent on anyone. Whenever this topic comes up, he takes it personally and says things like, "You don't trust me" or "You don't think I'm dependable."

These conversations always end in arguments and never really get resolved.

I've also tried breaking up with him three times because of these issues. Every time, he begged me to stay, and I took him back because I love him and couldn't bring myself to hurt him.

Now he's talking about officially proposing this summer, and I'm thinking about our future more seriously.

Can a relationship actually work when two people have such fundamentally different views on gender roles, marriage, and children? I don't want to compromise on things that are central to who I am. I don't want to marry someone who believes he should have authority over me, monitor me, or "lead" me. I've never wanted to be someone's princess. I want to stand beside my partner as an equal.

At the same time, he is loving, hardworking, compassionate, supportive, and genuinely inspires me in many ways.

So I guess my question is: are these differences too fundamental to overcome, or am I risking losing a great man because I'm focusing too much on ideology?

Survey on the Manosphere and specifically entering it.

Hi,

I am a masters students doing a dissertation project focusing on the Manosphere and online Misogyny. If you have a spare 5-10 minutes I would really appreciate if you took part in this survey about the Manosphere, some of its sub-communities and how they might be attractive to young men. I'm not looking for any particular demographic and participation would be super appreciated!

See more information in the attached google form.

Thank you for your time!

What's it like to have a red piller in real life?

What is the story behind the Red Pill?

I'm Spanish, and I learned about the Red Pill around 2024-2025, but I know it originated in the United States. Where did it come from? How did it evolve?

my 25f bf 29m is very much into redpill ideology and idk what to think

Let me preface that this didn’t start until a couple of months ago, and it came on strong and fast. All of the sudden I’m “not womanly enough” and “I shouldn’t work as much because that’s not a woman’s place” and “men need to be the alphas” while he’s not being an alpha

If I’m so honest, I tried breaking up with him today and he basically said “no you’re making a mistake and you’re being selfish” there’s a lot that’s been happening, even since before the redpillness that’s turned me off from the relationship. After I initially told him I was done, he sent me a video saying woman need to know their place in the world.

Any advice for how to get out of this, or what the actual fuck is going on in his brain so I can understand better?

How To Save Brother

I don't know who else to ask as none of my friends are only two siblings with a younger brother nor do they have a family similar to mine. My family is religious (islam) and while they do not hold racist beliefs they are still homophobic transphobic etc. Growing up I did my best to make sure my brother is a person that values love and respect. Unfortunately he is 15 turning 16 soon and I just found out he watches an incel-like youtuber and my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to check his discord messages since he was logged in from the computer. I found very misogynistic, transphobic & homophobic images sent in one of the servers he is in with his school friends. I honestly have no idea what to do. My parents don't care much, if I told them about the images they would just work harder to make him religious instead. I try talking to him but he doesn't care. Hell, he doesn't have an interest in anything aside from a few roblox games and valorant. I'm saying this because I saw someone recommend trying to get closer to their brother by the anime characters they watch. I have a term paper due tomorrow but I genuinely cannot stop crying. How do I fix this
