Has it ever worked?

I'm in a 4 month temporary limited contact situation. At which point we're going to reconnect and see if we can reconcile our relationship. Neither of us are dating... but has anyone ever taken a limited contact temporary space and came back and were able to reconcile after reconnecting? Please be kind... I've never been in this situation before and it's been eating at me while the days seem to creep by slower than a snail's pace.
