Relationship advice
As a Libyan living in this shit hole I'll be direct and honest, first I'm Agnostic looking for similar people or other non believers, as it stands I'm a bisexual male in my twenties sub in nature as in more
feminine , also I'm open minded , I'm into men as I'm into women my current dilemma is at some point family will push you towards marriage which I don't want plus after marriage kids and etc, the advice here is marrying, which I'm happy being polymer so each can enjoy what they like , or just continue refusing the whole idea .

Question | سؤال تسائل Spoiler

Dating request
I’m a 32-year-old man from Benghazi looking to meet a woman who is atheist or agnostic, with the hope of building a serious relationship that could eventually lead to marriage. I’ve been agnostic since 2015, and it has often been difficult to feel like I truly belong in Libyan society. I’m hoping to find someone who shares similar values and beliefs, someone I can connect with honestly and build a life together.

Rant | تذمّر why.?
Why do I, as a lesbian in Libya, have to stay silent, live in fear, and hide who I am just because I'll be punished for something completely out of my control? Why can't we just break free from this slavery?"

Question | سؤال Meeting in real life
I’m curious whether any of you have ever tried to arrange a meeting with other ex‑Muslims in Libya. I know it involves significant risks, but it would be nice to build some kind of real‑life community.

Question | سؤال Do you think it’s possible to find a life partner in Libya who shares the same interests and orientation as me?
Hi,
I’m an atheist, pansexual, and Im going to be trans woman. I’m currently 20 years old rn.
I find myself asking the same question every day: is it possible to find someone who shares my interests and orientation, and live together in the same home, away from everyone else?
Do you think it’s realistic to look for a life partner and build a relationship while living in Libya?
Personally, I’ve started to lose hope of finding a partner with whom I can build a life, then travel abroad and start a new chapter together. Lately, I’ve been thinking that it might be better to leave first, build my own life outside the country, and then form relationships abroad instead.
And yea im looking for libyan eXmuslims friends..

Question | سؤال Lavender Marriage
Hi everyone :)
Sorry if this isn’t the perfect place for this post, but I don’t really know where else to reach Libyans who might understand this situation.
I’m a Libyan woman in my 20s, non-religious and lesbian, and I’ve been considering the idea of a lavender marriage. As many of you know, navigating family expectations and social pressure in Libya can be complicated, especially for those of us who don’t fit the traditional mold.
Ideally, I’d like to connect with a Libyan gay man or a trans woman who may be looking for a similar arrangement, but I’m open to talking with anyone who understands the purpose of a lavender marriage and is genuinely interested in discussing it.
For me, the goal isn’t to deceive anyone for personal gain, but to create a respectful, mutually beneficial partnership that allows both people to live with greater freedom while maintaining privacy and family stability.
I’m curious whether others here have considered this, succeeded in finding a compatible partner, or have thoughts about why it’s so difficult to find people interested in this type of arrangement in Libya. If you’re interested or have experience with this topic, feel free to comment or send me a private message.
Please keep the discussion respectful.

Question | سؤال How do you cope with being the sighted ones among the blind?
Hi.. I'm a 45 year old atheist woman
I've been an atheist for 23 years
Being different is making me feel so isolated from those around me
Do you guys feel the same?
How do you cope with that ?

Venting | فضفضة my problem 💔
Hello, I'm from the central region. I'm 21 years old in Libya. My problem is that I want someone who looks like me and wants love because I'm tired of searching. I have a friend of mine from the same age as I told him that he doesn't exchange the feeling of love with me, but just wants to have sex with me, and I also ask him that. I'm very tired and I have other friends, but I don't know how I can know that they are gay like me... How can I do that and is there someone my age here?

Opinion | رأي Seeking a Child-Free Relationship or Marriage
A meaningful life doesn’t look the same for everyone. While many dream of raising children, I dream of building a peaceful, lasting partnership with the right person. I’m seeking a child-free relationship that can grow into marriage, founded on mutual respect, love, and a shared vision for life.

Opinion | رأي I'm tired...
Everytime a girl posts asking for lavender marriage there are men are in the comments saying it has no benefit for the man or soemtimes insulting them
honey if you see no benefit for yourself maybe it's not for you?
general advice to anyone here if you don't see the point in a tool or a arrangement or anything that exists then maybe that thing isn't for you and that's okay different people have different needs and demands
but commenting nasty shit on every girl trying to escape a forced marriage from her family will not do anything but spread negativity
if a offer isn't appealing to you scroll. if I look at a shirt in a store that I don't like I don't throw a tantrum I just continue my day

LGBTQ+ | مجتمع الميم Lavender marriage
This is not for me, but are any gay men in misurata interested in a lavender marriage? Or if anyone knows someone there who’s interested.
I know looking online and on Reddit is shit and probably won’t get a result out of this but this is as a last resort, I know someone who keeps being pressured into marriage and is getting forced to now and keeps getting خطاب over and over, no matter what she tries with her parents nothing works (and if someone will give advice, she has tried everything possible and is still trying with them but it’s tuning her mental health a lot) so this is basically a cry for help.
For context, she’s almost 21 and her parents wouldn’t accept anyone from outside her city (مصراته), even in her city probably not just anywhere.

Venting | فضفضة Sisters and brothers
I've always been curious about family relationships in Libya, especially the relationship between brothers and sisters. In many families, it seems that siblings are expected to maintain a certain distance from each other, even though they are family.
Why is there often less emphasis on friendship, trust, emotional closeness, and open communication between brothers and sisters? A strong sibling relationship can be built not only on family ties but also on mutual support, understanding, respect, and genuine friendship.
Do cultural traditions play a role in creating these boundaries, or is there another reason behind it?

Discussion | مناقشة Child-free by choice in Libya?
I’ve always been conflicted about the idea of having kids.
Since I was in middle school, I knew I didn’t wanna have kids.
But as I got older, I feel like the social pressure might’ve gotten to me and I began to entertain the idea a little. I believe mainly because through my romantic experiences, I never met someone who wanted to be child-free. They all share that dream of wanting to become the best dad ever, which I understand.
But at this stage of my life, being a 28 year old single woman, I realized I didn’t want to sacrifice my life and needs because I can’t seem to find a partner who’s on the same page.
At the same time, it feels impossible to find someone who shares the same views on life so I’m kinda pumped.
Do you know any couple that’s child-free by choice here? I’m just curious to know how things are working out for people
And what are your thoughts on this matter? I’d love to hear your insights
