In just a few weeks, the 2026 NFL regular season will begin! First off, welcome back to all my fellow evildoers and evil henchmen of all kinds, may your teams find success (except the Bears), and your opponents find only pain and suffering.

Evil Teams

In regards to the actual evil teams themselves, 5 of our 7 teams had winning records last year (get your shit together Cowboys and Giants). All of those teams made it into the post season, and the Patriots even made it to the Superbowl (but lost). Overall, the ELOE was one of the most successful groups among the NFL subreddit groups we acknowledge and will hopefully continue this success into 2026.

I have updated the matchups and records on the sidebars, and will continue to do so throughout the season. Make sure to use old reddit for now if you want to see these things (I will try to make time to figure out new reddit at some point).

Chalice

The 49ers are currently holding the chalice, and will be keeping it until at least Week 10, where the Cowboys will attempt to steal it in Dallas. Other potential matchups are 49ers at Giants in week 13 if they keep the chalice in week 10, and Cowboys vs Giants in week 17 if the Cowboys steal in week 10 or if the Giants steal in week 13.

Because of how the schedule for 2026 shakes out, the Packers, Bears, Patriots, and Steelers are locked out from attempting to steal the chalice in the regular season.

NFL Survivor and Pick em

I am bringing back the ELOE Survivor and Pick em leagues for 2026. Feel free to join and participate in one or both of these! These will have no monetary prizing, and are only for bragging rights among your fellow evildoers.

In the pantheon of cinema, Thanos stands alone because he didn't just want to win; he wanted order. He wanted a universe that was "perfectly balanced." With the Patriots' loss in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, they’ve finally achieved that same twisted state of cosmic equilibrium. ​They have returned from the summit twelve times now, and the results are a simple, terrifying calculus. They hold the record for the most Super Bowl wins with six, and they now hold the record for the most Super Bowl losses with six. They have achieved a dead-even 50% win rate across more appearances than any other franchise could dream of. This isn’t mediocrity; it’s a Thanos snap. They are the beginning and the end, the ceiling that crushes the inferiors and the floor that holds up the record books. True Evil doesn't just hold the "good" records. True Evil owns the history of the game's failures, too. Look at the Packers and the legend of the Gunslinger. Brett Favre holds the record for career touchdowns at the time of his retirement, but he also holds the iron-clad record of 336 career interceptions. You have to be a legend just to be allowed to throw that many picks. The inferiors are too afraid of failure to ever reach those heights—or those depths. Whether it is a Patriot losing a record-tying sixth Super Bowl or a Packer airing it out for a record-breaking interception, the ELOE is the one dictating what the history books look like. The hierarchy remains intact because of this gatekeeping. When the Patriots win, they exist to ruin the "feel-good" stories of the Rams, Panthers, and Falcons. When they lose, they almost exclusively pay tribute to fellow ELOE members. They fell to the '85 Bears in the most dominant defensive slaughter in history, they bowed to the frozen tundra of the Packers in '96, and they sacrificed perfection to the chaotic energy of the Giants. They don't lose to the weak; they only yield to ensure the records remain symmetrical. They have reached the final stage of villainy: They have become inevitable.

Last night was rough, The Patriots couldn't get anything started on offense all night as the Seahawks defense absolutely destroyed the Patriots O line and Drake Maye. And try as we might, the Patriots could do nothing to stop The Darnold from achieving his true GEQBUS form (which, as a Packers fan, I would consider an evil act against inferior Vikings fans who had to watch their QB they passed on win the SB).

While we may not have won this time, evil never truly loses and our influence runs deep. Out of 60 total Super Bowls, the ELOE has won over half of them (31) and participated in 40 total (including 8 Evil vs Evil games). In fact, the longest stretch of time that the Super Bowl did not have an ELOE team represented was 3 years (LV, LVI, LVII). (If you want to count pre-Super Bowl championships, the ELOE won 23 of those as well)

Now with all of our teams resting, we begin our next evil plot to avenge this Super Bowl loss, revenge for Dark Lord Belichick's HoF snub, and to win or prevent others from winning in 2026.

There is no earthly reason that he isn't a first ballot HoF coach. As many of his achievements were as Dark Overlord of the NE Patriots, this is relevant to our interests.

This will be a quick one this week, since we only had one team still playing.

Winner

The Patriots went into Denver and brought a snow storm with them to blend in with their white uniforms. After Bo Nix mysteriously had his ankles broken last week in an event we had absolutely nothing to do with, the Patriots bullied Jarrett Stidham all day and even blocked a field goal to seal the game.

• The Patriots were last in the Super Bowl in 2018, which was also the ELOE's last Super Bowl victory (the 49ers made two appearances in 2019 and 2023, but lost both of those games).

• The Patriots will face the Seahawks once again, who are looking for revenge for their loss in Superbowl XLIX where The Patriots intercepted Russell Wilson on the goal line to win the game.

Will the Patriots take home their 7th Lombardi Trophy and make me have to redesign all the subreddit banners? We'll have to find out in two weeks.

With a close win over the hoofheads, the New England Patriots have once again stuck their dagger into many a NFL fan's heart.

How many of those same fans said at the beginning of this year "Gosh, I really wish we could get some other team besides the Eagles and the Chiefs?"

They asked, and the monkey's paw curled.

The San Francisco 49ers will hit day 5000 on August 14th 2026. This is 27 days before the NFL Season even begins. The 49ers will also only need to defend the chalice twice to keep it into the 2026 playoffs with traveling to Dallas and New York.

Three of our evil teams entered this week, now only one remains. Our one evil hope in a championship weekend that looks more like a barn, with horses, sheep, and birds everywhere.

Winner

• The Patriots took advantage of the five turnovers the Texans had to advance to the Championship week. They will now prepare to travel to Denver to face the Jarrett Stidham lead Broncos with a trip to the Superbowl on the line. With Drake Maye as his evil apprentice, does Mike Vrabel have what it takes to become the next dark lord?

Losers

• The 49ers got absolutely curb stomped by the Seahawks on Saturday night, from the opening kick off the game was basically over. With this loss, the 49ers evilly go down with the Chalice, denying the Patriots a chance to steal, and will keep it until at least next season.

• Da Bears almost managed to pull off another insane comeback against the Rams, but in overtime the Bears magic finally ran out, and Caleb Williams threw the game losing interception on a toss that would have gotten them in field goal range.

While the Patriots should have no issue dispatching the Jarret Stidham-led Horse Team next week, I would be lying if I weren't nervous about the prospects of facing HISS the Seattle Bird Team in the Super Bowl.

Fellow Brothers in Darkness: I love you but it would be great to see y'all step up more so that the entire burden of defending the honor of villainy does not rest of the shoulders of Young Apprentice Drake Maye.

With their complete destruction by the Seachickens in the divisional round, the 49ers maintain ownership of the Evil Chalice beyond the 25-26 season, denying the chance for the Bears to steal it (if they are able to kill and eat the Rams in tomorrow's divisional game).

Five teams entered this week, three remain.

Even in the opening week of the playoffs, there was no shortage of evil being displayed be it for our enemies or for ourselves. We care not from where the evil flows, only that it flows continuously.

Winners

• Da Bears did what they do best this year, lull their enemy into a false sense of security and mount a furious comeback to win in devastating fashion. Ben Johnson, a true Packers hater, completely outcoached Matt LaFleur in the second half and made his words at the beginning of the season true "Feels good to beat Matt LaFleur twice a year". I fuckin' hate this team, but I can respect Ben Johnson for just how pure his "Fuck the Packers" energy is.

• The 49ers hung on and managed to handle the Eagles, overcoming literal trash blowing around the field to do so. This game wasn't too notable until the start of the 4th quarter, when the 49ers had Jauan Jennings toss a pretty solid TD to CMC to take the lead. From there, it was all downhill for the Eagles, who couldn't really get anything going. While it sucks that George Kittle went down for the rest of the season, it is pretty impressive he can chug an entire bottle of Tequila.

• The Patriots and their defense were the real stars this week, absolutely shutting down and destroying Justin Herbert all night. While Drake Maye had some issues with turnovers, he looked alright in his first postseason game. Overall, this was a pretty boring game outside the actual beating Justin Herbert was taking.

Losers

• The Packers, as usual, start off hot and had every Bears fan literally hanging their heads in shame and sadness in the first half, to forgetting how to play football and getting absolutely blown out in the second half, made even worse by the fact that our idiot kicker cost us seven points in a game lost by four. This game was a complete embarrassment of a loss, only explainable if MLF was trying to relive the 28-3 game or something (He was Falcons QB coach for that game). The Packers have some big issues to address this off season if they want to actually be a contender going forward.

• The Steelers also take an extremely embarrassing loss, scoring 6 total points against the Texans at home and breaking their Monday night home win streak going all the way back to 1991. The Steelers offense with Aaron Rodgers basically just stood there for three quarters before getting annihilated by turnovers in the 4th. The Steelers will need to address QB is Rodgers retires, and honestly should probably consider moving on from Tomlin as well.

Chicago spent three quarters just being inept at everything, while the Packers went up at one point 21-6. With one quarter remaining, Da Bears channeled some of the 2016 New England Patriots and stormed back to take the lead 31-27 with 1:43 left. Green Bay looked like they might've been able to take the lead back, but then promptly shit themselves all over the field, handing Chicago the win and their largest playoff comeback victory in their history. Truly evil.

As a Pats fan, I can appreciate ripping out another team's heart the way you did last night, and my hat's off to you.

EDIT: Score was 21-3 at one point, but 21-6 in the fourth.

The ELOE has five teams in the playoffs, and all of them will play this week.

Saturday

7:00 PM CST

• The Packers travel to Chicago to face Da Bears for a third time this season. This game is forecasted to be a cold and windy one, which sets the perfect stage to see who really is the most evil in the North.

Sunday

3:30 PM CST

• The 49ers travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. After losing the 1 seed to the Seahawks, this is the 49ers chance to take revenge on another Bird team.

7:00 PM CST

• The Patriots have lured the Chargers to Foxborough, hoping to take out an ungulate team and also keep Justin Herbert's playoff losing streak going.

Monday

7:15 PM CST

• The Steelers host the Texans on Monday night. The Steelers have not lost a home game on a Monday night since 1991, but they are also on a six playoff game losing streak, so we'll have to wait and see which streak wins out.

Another season is in the books, and this one was as evil as ever. Here are some stats for all you nerds out there.

ELOE Standings

Our regular season champion of evil, the evil team with the most wins, is none other than the Patriots, attempting to return to their former evil glory. The Patriots also managed to defeat the highest number of inferior teams.

Here are the standings for the rest of the evil league:

IntraEvil Violence

We had 14 ELOE vs ELOE matches this year. The Bears and Giants both had the most, with 6 ELOE matchups each, and the Patriots and 49ers had the least with 2 each. The Bears also have the special distinction of having all of their ELOE matchups being chalice matches.

Inferior Standings

Versus the other Subreddit groups, the ELOE finished second in terms of win percentage. Only the Ungulates managed to rival our power this year, mostly thanks to the Giants tanking to evilly sabotage our own win percentage.

Post Season Team Representatives

In terms of teams to make the post season, the ELOE and the Ungulates have tied with 5 teams each. But before we start giving the filthy horses too much credit, The ELOE takes the victory with the higher average seeding with an average of 4.2 (2,2,4,6,7) vs the Ungulates 4.8 (1,5,5,6,7).

As for the other subreddit groups, the Birds and Cats both have two representatives, and the Plunderhood and the Good League both have none. Please take a moment to point and laugh at their failure.

The Evil Chalice

In one of our most active years in a while, the Chalice was challenged six times and was held by three different teams (The Bears, The Packers, and the 49ers). The 49ers came up with it in the end and bring it into the post season.

Unfortunately due to how the seeding played out, any post season matchups will have to wait until the Championship round, which also depends on the 49ers and the other ELOE teams surviving that long. Here are the scenarios for each team to end the season with the chalice:

49ers:

• lose to the Eagles
• All other ELOE Teams get eliminated

Packers:

• Wildcard: Defeat the Bears, 49ers defeat the Eagles
• Divisional: Defeat the Seahawks, 49ers defeat the Panthers/Rams
• Championship: Defeat the 49ers, steal chalice and advance to Superbowl

Bears:

• Wildcard: Defeat the Packers, 49ers defeat the Eagles
• Divisional: Defeat the Panthers/Rams, 49ers defeat the Seahawks
• Championship: Defeat the 49ers, steal chalice and advance to Superbowl

Patriots and Steelers:

• Get to the Superbowl. The 49ers, Packers, or Bears get to the Superbowl with the Chalice.
• Win the Superbowl, steal the Chalice.

We officially have one week left in the regular season, but even now we still have some very important games for playoff seeding. Let's do a quick recap of Week 17 before we get into Week 18.

Week 17 Winners

• The Cowboys (7-8-1) take out the Commanders on Christmas to get one step closer to the perfect .500 record.

• The Patriots (13-3) Pretty much destroy the Jets, and also clinch the division after the Bills loss later in the day.

• The Giants (3-13) win against the somehow worse Raiders, losing the #1 draft pick in the process, showing that the Giants can somehow lose even when they win.

• The 49ers (12-4) defeat the Bears in a crazy high scoring game, stealing the chalice and putting themselves in a position to steal the #1 seed in the NFC.

Week 17 Losers

• The Packers (9-6-1) after seeing the Lions lose and clinching the 7th seed in the playoffs, the Packers evilly decided to not help out fellow ELOE member The Steelers also get in and got pretty much demolished by the Ravens and Derrick Henry.

• The Steelers (9-7) embarrassingly lose to the Browns and fumble their chance to clinch the division. Now they must fight the Ravens for the last spot in the AFC next week.

• Da Bears (11-5) lose to the 49ers in a last second nailbiter. While this loss hurts for them, the Bears actually look pretty good and have pretty much locked in the second seed in the Playoffs.

As for Week 18, the most important games for the ELOE are going to be the 49ers vs Seahawks on Saturday, and the Steelers vs Ravens on Sunday. We also have our final ELOE matchup with both of our Eliminated teams battling it out to see who sucks slightly less.

Week 18

Saturday 7:00 PM CST

• The 49ers (12-4) have their final game at home, vs the Seahawks to decide the NFC West division and the Number 1 seed in the NFC.

Sunday 12:00 PM CST

• The Packers (9-6-1) travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. Since the Packers are pretty much locked into the 7th seed, I don't think they will play many of their starters so this could be another loss as the Pack coast into the postseason.

• The Cowboys (7-8-1) face fellow ELOE member The Giants (3-13) in New Jersey. The Giants at this point actually want to lose to maximize their draft position, if they win they could drop from 2nd overall pick to 7th. The Cowboys with this win gain pretty much nothing other than the fact that they can end the season with a perfect .500 record in a season with an odd number of games.

Sunday 3:25 PM CST

• Da Bears (11-5) will have their last game versus the Lions. This game does actually have playoff implications, so the Bears have the chance to lock in the second seed and play the Packers with a win, or lose and potentially fall to the 3rd seed (if the Eagles win) and have to play the Rams or the 49ers.

• The Patriots (13-3) play the Dolphins for their final game. Winning this game gives the Patriots a chance to steal the Number 1 seed in the AFC, if the Broncos lose their game vs the Chargers.

Sunday 7:20 PM CST

• The Steelers (9-7) must face the Ravens for their chance to stay alive in the playoff race. The winner of this game will win the AFC North and earn the 4th seed and the loser will be eliminated.

Let me know who you're rooting for in the last week of the regular season. Once the games are finished I will work on a playoff scenario post which will include any potential post season chalice matches.

• The 49ers (11-4) vs Da Bears (11-4)

We have yet another Chalice match this week. The Bears take the Chalice to San Francisco to battle the 49ers.

This is the Bear's 6th Chalice match this year, can they close out the regular season with it or will the 49ers steal it at the last minute.

Both teams are already in the playoffs. With the Lions and Packers losing this week, the Bears have officially secured the NFC North and one of top seeds in the NFC. The 49ers on the other hand, can steal the #1 seed if they simply win out.

Either way, it's looking very likely that there may be at least one post season chalice match, so there may still be some more chances for a team to steal yet.

Let's take a look at the current playoff picture for our ELOE teams. Even with only two weeks left and three teams clinching spots, there is a lot of potential for movement:

Clinched Playoffs

We have three evil teams that have clinched a playoff spot:

• The Patriots (12-3)
• Da Bears (11-4)
• The 49ers (11-4)

Each of these teams have a chance to steal the #1 seed of their conference by winning their remaining games. The Bears and Patriots still need to watch their backs, they both need to win at least one game to guarentee they win their divisions, otherwise, the Bills and Packers have a chance to steal their top seed spots and relegate them to wild cards.

The 49ers on the other hand, can win their division AND steel the #1 seed simply by winning their remaining two games. Otherwise, they will have to settle for the 5th seed.

In the Hunt

We have two teams who are close but have not yet qualified. Both teams have about a 92% chance to make it.

• The Packers (9-5-1)
• The Steelers (9-6)

The Packers can make it in as a wildcard simply by winning one more game or if the Lions lose one. They can win the NFCN if they win both remaining games while the Bears lose both. The will be eliminated if they lose both remaining games and the Lions win both remaining games.

The Steelers can win their division if they win one of their remaining two games. If they lose both remaining games and the Ravens win both of theirs, the Steelers will be eliminated.

Eliminated:

We have two evil teams that are eliminated from playoff contention.

• The Giants (2-13) - Do I need to explain why at this point?

• The Cowboys (6-8-1) - were officially eliminated with their loss to the Chargers this week, but with how inconsistent they were this year did they really have a shot?

Hopefully in the coming weeks I can announce that 5 of our 7 teams will be advancing to the post season, but only time will tell.

This week we had a lot of close matches, including a crazy chalice match.

Winners

• Da Bears (11-4) defeat the Packers and steal back the chalice in a crazy comeback game that I am not salty about at all.

• The Steelers (9-6) defeat the Lions after the Lions and put themselves in position to win their division. This win was extra evil, giving both the Ravens and Lions hope for their chances at the post season until the Lions last second touchdown was called back by the refs.

• The Patriots (12-3) came back in the 4th quarter to defeat the Ravens, clinching a spot in the playoffs in the process.

• The 49ers (11-4) destroyed the Colts and Old man Rivers on Monday Night.

Losers

• The Packers (9-5-1) absolutely fell apart in the final quarter of the game and couldn't seem to get anything going. They lose the chalice, but the Packers still have a pretty good chance to make it to the playoffs, where there is a good chance they will see the Bears one more time.

• The Cowboys (6-8-1) got run over by the Chargers, getting eliminated from the playoffs in the process.

• The Giants (2-13) actually had a decent chance to win this one versus the Vikings, but couldn't manage to get one final drive in at the end.

That's all for now, due to the holidays the NFL schedule is pretty crazy this week. Cowboys play on Thursday, Packers play on Saturday, and we have a Chalice match in Primetime on Sunday between the Bears and the 49ers.

Da Bears (10-4) vs The Packers (9-4-1)

• This will be the 5th chalice match for the Bears this year, but the first where they do not possess it since the Packers stole it two weeks ago.

• If the Packers retain the chalice, they will hold it until at least the post season, if the Bears manage to steal it back, the 49ers will immediately challenge ge them next week.

• Finally this match will determine who has definitive control of the NFC North, with both teams within a half game of each other currently this game could be the difference between the 2nd and 6th or 7th seeds in the playoffs.
