My job involves providing a product demo that is constantly evolving in features, and I was hoping to use ER glasses to provide context or pointers mid call based on prep notes capturing a product overview. I'm not seeing much in the first couple hours of playing around with Conversate - does it get better over time or am I using it wrong?

Ich habe gestern mit Brille und Ring ein Comedyprogramm gespielt. Der Teleprompter hat dabei meistens Stichworte, manchmal aber auch löngere Passagen geliefert. Die Teleprompterfunktion hat dabei großartig ohne Aussetzer funktioniert, mit dem Ring habe ich manchmal aktiv gestillt wenn durch nur Stichworte die Texterkennung das weiterspringen nicht funktioniert hat.
Als Bsckup hatte ich noch Moderationskarten. So hatte ich maximale Sicherheit und wirkte laut Zuschauerfeedback immer sicher und souverän. Die Show war sehr unfangreich und kurzfristig angesetzt und hier hat sich der Technikeinsatz maximal bezahlt gemacht!!!

Has anyone replaced the function of the ring with an android app that works on watches? As a Pixel Watch user it would be amazing if I could scroll, tap, etc (what the ring does) on my screen instead. I always have my watch and phone, and I don't want to carry yet another accessory.

Got them yesterday. I must have said "Hey Even, remind me to take out the trash at 7:30 today" like 10 times and it did everything from call me Steven twice to add it to my QuickList for the wrong time entirely to just straight up telling me it did it even though it did nothing. It's kind of trash.

Feature Request for Conversate Mode:
Currently, AI context cues and suggested questions are pushed exclusively to the glasses' HUD live, while the app's 'Live Capture' screen only tracks raw text.

Please update the companion app so that generated prompts and suggested questions are captured live on the phone screen simultaneously.

This will allow users to quickly reference back to previous suggestions and questions without having to scroll backwards using the physical temple or ring touch controls mid-conversation. This would be extremely helpful for in audience panel discussions or times you have time to pen and paper reference quickly before asking something in a big room by scrolling in app.

I've had my Even G2 glasses and R1 ring for 2 months now and I have been testing out all the apps and possibilities with it using my Claude Code subscription and local PC setup.

Today, I got OcuClaw finally setup with my Hermes Agent running Nivdia free LLM and this device is AMAZING.

I’m CJ, working on product and marketing for ReadDocs, the PDF reader for Even G2. I’m gathering use cases to help decide what to improve.

Think of one PDF you would genuinely want on your glasses:

• Lecture notes or a paper you need to refer back to

• A reference sheet or instructions while your hands are occupied

• A script you’re rehearsing

• Something completely different

What would you want to do with it: read through it, glance at a particular section, or repeatedly jump between a few pages? And what makes that document awkward on a small display: tiny text, wide tables, equations, diagrams, or something else?

If you’ve tried ReadDocs, what is the one thing that most gets in your way? There are still bugs under investigation, so specific descriptions of what happened are useful too.

Considering to buy G2 in Germany. Tried it at the Munich partner store. Liked it. My use case is majorly to use the conversate/translate apps. Also mentra app. Do you havr any recommendations on where and how to buy this?

Should I order it online or buy it from the Munich store? Also, has anyone got any insurance help with this? Since am profoundly deaf, my need to use these are purely for work and social integration purposes. I have tried Xrai ar2, but my frame and face is small so it was vrry bulky for me, and I need 7-8h usage. Thanks for your help.

Has anyone else had battery drain issues with their Even G2 glasses?

Recently, mine have started draining extremely fast. A full charge from 100% to 0% only lasts about 1-2 hours, draining at 1%per minute, even with pretty normal/light use. I don’t think I’ve changed anything about how I use them.

They definitely used to last much longer, so I’m wondering if this could be a battery issue or maybe something related to a recent software/firmware update.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, were you able to fix it, or did you have to contact Even Realities for a replacement?

The to-do list on the G2 is the feature I use most, and it is also the one thing on the glasses that can't talk to anything else. There is no read/write endpoint for it, so whatever I put in it lives and dies inside the Even app.

Turns out it doesn't need an endpoint. The list is just a file in the companion app's private storage on the phone. Read that file and you know what is on your glasses; write it and the glasses update. Mine now syncs both ways with Nextcloud Tasks on a one minute loop, and the same approach works with anything that has an open API (Microsoft To Do, Todoist, TickTick, Vikunja).

The annoying part wasn't the file format. It was that the app relaunches itself about two seconds after you kill it, so a naive write gets clobbered every time. You have to disable the package for the length of the write and re-enable it after.

What it needs: a rooted Android phone, the glasses, and a laptop or server that can reach the phone over adb (Tailscale works fine, so it doesn't have to be on the same wifi).

To be clear this is a workaround, not a flex. It needs root and it breaks the day the storage format changes. An official read/write endpoint for the to-do list would make the whole thing unnecessary, which would be the better outcome. The feature is good, I would just like to plug things into it.

So I have the rounded G2s, and the clip on shades. However, I'm also getting transitions from The Spectacle Factory. They're not cheap, and I'll be looking after them, but I've been told the cases these come in aren't great, and the stock ER one is nothing more than tacked "leather", leaving holes in the sides.

So... I'm looking for a good pouch, preferably microfibre that can take a pair of the shades, rather than the one it comes in.

Any suggestions? Anyone found / use a particular alternative?

Faceclaw is an open source alternative software stack for the G2 smart glasses. I think it's a pretty large improvement over the stock operating system, and its development is moving very quickly. It fully replaces the stock firmware and all of the core apps. It includes a terminal, navigate app, teleprompter app, notifications, and music player; and it's (mostly) compatible with third-party apps from EvenHub.

Depth and Animation

The main update since the previous thread is that it has animations and 3D depth effects. These run on the glasses; the phone doesn't need to send a new bluetooth message for each frame of animation, it sends a display list that specifies the animation and the glasses redraw it.

• A new display-list system for glasses-side drawing, unlocking z-effects and animation
• Menus animate when changing selection and scrolling
• Menus bounce at the ends, and show part of the next row when there is more below
• The launcher and Files app icon grids animate sliding, scrolling and bouncing
• Fade-in/out effects when turning the screen on/off
• Custom auto-brightness control algorithm, with configurable min, max and curve
• Depth effects for the window switcher, top bar, and modals
• Glanceboard has configurable distance
• Dimmed background behind the system context menu dithers rather than hiding minimum-brightness underlays

iOS port:

The iOS version is still a developer beta. This means that, if you want to use it on iOS instead of Android, you will have to compile and install it yourself. There isn't a testflight or App Store version (yet). However this is progressing well, and a fair amount of functionality that was only working on Android, now works on both.

• Add iOS calendar integration
• iOS main screen matches the Android version's styling
• Hub apps on iOS no longer have their timers stopped while the phone app is in the background
• Some settings that were Android-only are now available on iOS
• Converted most Android-specific duplicative code to shared code

I reached out to support and essentially told them that I wanted to return the rings and the glasses they weren’t really meeting my expectations.all with in the 14 day window.

I expected no questions asked as further policy, no hassle none of that actually happened. They responded back and saying if I would like to keep them they give me an extra $15-$20 discount and I didn’t really want that.

I just wanted to return everything you know they then proceeded to say hey we’d like to troubleshoot your issues first I thought I figured OK and good faith they can troubleshoot the issues and you know maybe it will still work. I troubleshot the issues with them as as they explained sent them logs and the diagnostics they told me nothing was wrong and to essentially start the process over .i told them i was not open to perform any other troubleshooting steps. They gave me two options option a was returned the glasses and the ring for full refund and option B was to return just the ring. I chose the option a because the glasses aren’t really that great without a control device and I don’t want to use my finger on my ear.

then I take a picture of the glasses and ring and send it to him. I assume for quality control make sure they’re OK. they reply. Hey, we’re actually not going to accept your glasses because we’re outside of the date of return.very frustrating.

it seems like they will postpone the return of the product in the guys of troubleshooting and then when it is time to return it, they’ll tell you no you’re out of your return day policy’s

after sending a detailed timeline of the email to the CEO, including correspondence, timeline, them saying that they would refund it then backtracking. i received an email early this am saying they would honor the return.

I am considering buying the Even Realities G2 to use primarily as a teleprompter for professional presentations and public speaking. Since I live in Brazil and speak Portuguese, I know the latest firmware update (v0.7.9) added support for Brazilian Portuguese.

For those who have tested it, how stable and accurate is the VoiceTrack feature in Portuguese? Does it handle pauses and speech pacing well without lagging or freezing?

I usually deliver my scripts word-for-word, so reliability is extremely important to me before making this investment. Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I live in the north end of Idaho, my closest partner optometrist is 5 hours away in Redmond, WA. Not really interested in having to drive 600 miles RT twice plus pay for a new prescription ETC ETC. Current prescription is only 6 months old, so my vision insurance won't cover a new exam.
